Elevator broken. One person working the coffee bar on a Friday morning. Noisy
I booked on Hotels . com and when I checked in was charged a $25.00 a day "resort" fee. I guess that was for the hot tub size pool on the roof. Oh. It was closed off for a private party the day I arrived. I was charged the $ for the day anyway.
Very nice and helpful team, at the front desk and in general. I liked the hotel and the rooms desgin. The restaurant downstairs is very good
One elevator was out of service, long wait times every morning, could be annoying when staying on the high floors. The shower\toilets lack of privacy and water leak into the room.
A class act from the start - great valet parking and help taking bags to our rooms (the only hotel that did that on our whole 2-week trip!) Room was small but fantastic, an unusual design but ingeniously done and all worked really well. Restaurant and public spaces all done really nicely too. This is the Ace really getting it right - cool but (mostly) unshowy. (As opposed to the Standard, where we stayed next - yuck!)
The rooftop pool is more of a large hot tub. But it's still a great space.
Cool looking place, comfortable beds, good location.
No coffee or hand soap in the room. Terrible elevator system.

An outdoor pool and onsite fitness center are available for guests to use. A spectacular panoramic view of Downtown LA can be seen from the rooftop bar and lounge, which serves up swanky cocktails as chilled out tunes waft in the background.
There is a coffee bar and a juice bar onsite, as well as drinks available at the rooftop lounge and bar. For dining, guests can enjoy the renowned onsite restaurant, Best Girl, which is known for its creative and vibrant dishes crafted by critically acclaimed chef, Michael Cimarusti. The menu offers specialty dishes, and incorporates creative ingredients, like dandelion, horseradish crema, and honeynut squash. Guests rave about the delectable dishes formed from the unique ingredient combinations.
The Ace Hotel is only a mile away from the Museum of Contemporary Art, and just a 15 minute walk from The Grammy Museum.
