Size of room.
Two issues: the placement of the refreshment frig which was in a cabinet that kept it from being opened and lack of a coffee maker in the room.

The pool was warm and pleasant and the staff pleasant enough.
The room was stuffy and smelt a bit of cheese or old socks, the windows didn't open. The hotel wasn't dirty, but didn't have a fresh feel with the dark lobby and urban atmosphere. Downtown level of homelessness and despair was pretty shocking, people with bleeding beaten up faces round the hotel and a tent city not far away. we much preferred our last hotel the Beverly Laurel - much cheaper with a fresh and pleasant feel.

Service was friendly, and overall fair amenities. Nice rooftop bar that people seem to like to go to. Swanky lobby. 24 hr restaurant and room service available. Easy parking but have to pay for it.
Room has an odd layout and the see-through shower was super creepy and unfunctional, rather than being sexy. It was super noisy even for being on the 10th floor, but since it’s DTLA, that’s not really the hotel’s fault. Room was on the small end, and the modern art was really bad. Bed was fairly comfortable but included wool blanket which was scratchy.
