Also, due to my partner having to swap seats, I was sat on my own next to strangers. The food was good but uninteresting and I think for an overnight flight there should be more smaller,lighter, non spicy options offered rather that full dinners."

Ground staff was waiting for me with a small car after I disembarked to drive me to the gate. And I somehow made my connection. Excellent service. Obviously my checked bag didn't make it, but I was told in advance and was kept updated before boarding and immediate after I disembarked at my final destination. When I went to the baggage service counter, they were already ready for me, had filled out my paperwork, and just needed an address to confirm the delivery of my suitcase. I'm super impressed to this attention to detail."

Fortunately, they recommended going to the Virgin Australia counter to see if they could add a checked bag to our ticket. The nice people at Virgin used an online code to give us a discount so we only paid 25 AUD a bag. Thanks a lot for the heads up Kayak. We will book direct next time to avoid surprises. Also, almost all movies on Air New Zealand were an extra charge, and the only drinks offered for free on a 3 hour flight were coffee, tea, and water - no soft drinks."

It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

We phoned the booing site, we phoned Virgin, we were put on hold for 25 mins while the booking site phoned Virgin - but Virgin refused to help us out! My husband was not able to board the flight - no refund, no help - and the sad part was, it wasn't for a holiday - it was to visit and help his 87yr old father-in-law who had fallen and cracked his spine. No sympathy from Virgin, VERY DISAPPOINTED!"

I felt disappointment that Air New Zealand separates parties and leaves room for uncomfortable situations. I really did not know what to do in this scenario, I paid for that seat but was in a way forced to give it a away without any refund in order to avoid 12 hours seating with some stranger's wife."

Cons: "Seated in the last row, so the seat would not recline so much as an inch. On such a long flight (something over 14 hours), a hard, cramped seat is difficult to endure. Aircraft was filled to bursting, not a single vacant seat. With so many people, boarding could be better organized. Not the most experienced or competent of pilots, either. Could not handle crosswinds landing at JFK, so it was a rather hairy landing, weaving down the runway."

The staff really helped us with the temporary visa process during our layover in Wuhan!"

And these mega airports in Asia getting from 1 terminal to another when you don’t speak the language can add an hour! If the flight wasn’t an hour late I would have missed it because of the messages. I have saved those and will be contacting Kayak for some type of reasonable compensation for this terrible error on their part. No message at all would be much better than a message sending me to the wrong place!"

Cons: "Landed in Kunming only to find that there was no international terminal so I had to go through immigration to change planes. Showing up in China without a visa is a big no-no. China Eastern, whose flight crew spoke minimal English, didn't warn me about this at all. The soldier at the immigration desk was not amused by a US citizen without a visa, and it took much explaining and a couple of conversations between soldiers to be allowed a 24-hour visa. It was touch and go for a bit, leaving me wondering if I was to be turned away. NOT ACCEPTABLE!"

It was like this both ways from LAX to PVG and back."

It is now January 3rd, and I still do not have my suitcase. Also, I am being told that I will need to pick up my suitcase when it arrives, but it should be delivered to my home. This has been a huge inconvenience. I have important things that I need and it has been delayed for far too long. I should also not have to pick up the suitcase because it is not may fault that it was misplaced. I refuse to spend half the day to go to the airport, and I also refuse to spend money on a taxi service to get me there."
Pros: "First all, the flight changed to stop at PVG, not Nanjing. When it depatured from PVG to Taipei, inside the airplane was so hot. We talked to flight attences 2 times, still didn't be adjusted. And food was terrible, too. They provided food too late, then they rushed out to clean the food trates. There is no enough time to eat! The experience was so bad with them."

I had to pick up my luggage going out the terminal then go to check in again. I am 82 years old. This is not easy and stressful to me. I asked the supervisor that he could not do any thing. My connecting flight ticket was also from CHINA EASTER AIRLINES. They say the connecting flight was not on the same ticket. However it is from the same airline. I made my flight with great effort. I had hard time to speak to the agent in checking in my flight to LA. THIS IS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED WHEN I PURCHASED THE TICKET. IF I KNEW, I WILL RECONSIDER TO PURCHASE THE TICKET. DO REQUEST YOU RECOGNIZED THE STRESS AND INCONVENIENT YOU PUT YOUR PASSENGER THRU."
