Though I double checked with the Quarantine offices in Chicago and in Incheon, and they said that I did not need any documentation, the person at the check-in counter would not let me take the cats without the Quarantine office's written permission. Only after an hour of explanations I could take the cats. It seemed that that person was not familiar with rules on pet transportation."

Very desapointed from this hotess from the Philli. Who during the who flight treat me like dirt, maybe she hates Americain? Also most of movies are children oriented only a few for mature minds and they are over a year old. First time on Asiana and last time even been a star alliance member what a disappointment!"

Cons: "1.Flight Network said that the transaction was in US dollars. Therefore there shouldn't have been a currency exchange fee from my US bank. However, Flight Network charged Canadian dollars, so my US bank charged me a 3% exchange fee and the Canadian bank charged me another $8 fee resulting in a combined $32 extra to the price.of my ticket. Flight Network was not honest about the currency of the transaction. Kayak should require that Flight Network and any other vendors be honest about the currency of the transaction. 2. The extra 5 hours of layover at Incheon Airport was a total drag. It caused me to miss my connecting flight from LAX to Mexico City, so by the time I got into Mexico City there were no more buses running to Queretaro. I had to book a room in Mexico City at an additional expense and pay for taxi fare that I would not have needed if Asiana Airlines hadn't added 5 extra hours of layover to my trip."

There wasn't a vegetarian option so I was given just bread to eat twice on a 15 hour flight. To top it all off, the airline worker at check in forced my companion to pay $150 to gate check her guitar (which has always counted as carry on thru other airlines), and then at the gate she was told she couldn't check it and that she was to bring it on the plane as we originally intended. We noticed she was the only person given any trouble and the only black person.....all in all, a terrible experience."

Cons: "Service can be very erratic. On both long-haul CSA flights I took, attendants spoke poor English, which was surprising given the route. This is a perfectly OK airline for the price. You get what you pay for, in a way. But if anything drifts from the original plan, you're screwed. On Thurs Jan 4 we were diverted to Chicago due to bad weather. CSA has ZERO ground presence at Ohare. They gave us poorly-worded, vague instructions while still on board the aircraft for how to proceed once we disembarked-- and then their crew went off to hotels and rested, while most of the passengers stood stranded and confused in the airport terminal with NO assistance whatsoever. We were NEVER formally told when to reboard, or when our flight might take off again for JFK. We were NEVER told what kind of arrangements would be available for passengers to rest and recover-- and we landed around midnight, mind you. Passengers shared info with one another that they gleaned from 3rd party websites-- we all helped each other out, because CSA was useless. I recognize that it was an unusual situation due to extreme weather but it was indicative of the kind of customer service one can expect. Which is, not much."

Since our first leg was from, and our lest leg was to, very warm places, we were not prepared for near-freezing conditions. 2. Loss of baggage, CAN to MNL, flight CZ3091, 1/1/18: The luggage which had our clothes was delayed. Worse, the over-ground delivery of said luggage took too long: one third of our stay in the Philippines. I knew we'd wear the same clothes for almost 24 hours straight, didn't expect to do so for three additional days."

These are 14 and 12 hour overnight flights and seat wouldn't even recline, forget laying flat! On the outbound flight I didn't realize until we took off. The crew tried to fix it and couldn't but gave me one of the crew seats in the back of business class. Not great to be separated from my husband for most of the flight, but I could sleep and was otherwise comfortable. Returning Guangzhou to SF, had the same seat. Checked it as soon as I boarded and it didn't work, again! This time they got ground crew to fix it before take off. It worked most of the flight, but once I put it up after laying flat for 8 hours, it stopped working. Would not move from a straight upright position. Ridiculous! SO check to make sure your seats work before you take off!!"

China Southern representatives were a little more helpful and organized about directing passengers from flight coming into Wuhan to flight going out to San Francisco in the right direction and through departing immigration. It went smoothly and felt as if they were better prepared to continue "us" on our journey to San Francisco. We even got green stickers with "SFO" showing we were part of the group and a new boarding pass with the right gate number. When asking for a glass of wine, they poured what they had and came back with more. It was a newer plane with entertainment systems. Headphones were provided, if needed."

When looking out the window, the airport taxis and runways looked desolate. If my flight from San Francisco to home (Seattle) hadn't be delayed, I possibly would have missed my last flight home. Mobile devices that can be used as a cell phone are not allowed to be on or used while on board the flight. This includes mobile phones in flight mode (China Southern explained to me that this is Chinese law), so you are forced to use their entertainment system and not be able to listen to your own music."

I had to move to the one with a long queue to handle those standby customers. This is my worst experience ever. The service of China Southern airline is becoming worse and worse. Never recommend again."

The food was atrocious, the media system was broken, there was not wifi, and they did not allow the use of cellphones the entire duration of the flight even in airplane mode. The ground staff was completely unhelpful. I was barely able to secure an alternative flight home after about a half hour of negotiating. I don't think I could have got the flight at all had I not spoke Chinese. None of the other foreign nationals were able to get a new flight. The flight they put on back home had to stop in Hawaii and cost me a good extra 8 hours. I got home 12 hours later than I had anticipated. I am filing for compensation. What a joke. Air China shouldn't even both with international flights if all their domestic flights are delayed and they are barely able to help customers speaking their native language (to say nothing of English)."

Cons: "Economy seats are really small. My shoulders hit the head rest. I'm not that tall, but I'm not short either. I think the seat in front of me was only about 12 inches from my face. The 6 hour ride didn't have individual monitors. Why? No mobile products can be used- not even an iPod. I can understand an hour flight- but 4+ hours? The flight from PEK to SGN was super late, and no one would give an explanation. On the long leg, the movie selection was poor. Mainly Chinese movies. Only a couple new English movies, and some older ones."
Pros: "I liked the selection of movies."
Cons: "I didn't like that the staff didn't know English that well, they only had Pepsi,spirt,oj, apple juice. No cranberry juices, no ginger ale, no liquor. I didn't like the staff touching me.You can use your words to politely get peoples attention. I didn't like that our flight was 3 hours late in Beijing and no one had an answer of why or how long. The only information was for us to get another flight in the morning or to just wait for 10hours or a few days. What kind of customer service is that! Food was terrible!!!!!!"
Pros: "We were finally able to get home but..."
Cons: "we are still trying to contact someone in Beijing to help us get our security check items back and no one from China Air staff is helping to ship our items back to us."
Pros: "The flight attendants were polite and attentive. Most spoke English or made some effort try. Flights were on time staff was super helpful. Meals were great!"
Cons: "Seats were a little cramped of your a taller person like me (6'2"). Very few English options for on flight entertainment."
Pros: "I like Eva air better. This was ok, but Eva keeps the bathroom in tip top shape. Air China doesn't seem to keep cleaning the restroom throughout the flight. They seem to run late too which is fine because customs in beijing is slow. Plenty of food, no complaints there."

Cons: "1 No provision for veg food cant use phone even in flight 3Even in this age buses ferry you from plane to the terminal,disgusting 4Security/immigration people lack smile on their faces"
Cons: "The crews didn't look like that they were very happy to work in the middle of the night since our flight was a midnight flight, wouldn't want to flight Air China again if I can help it unless the ticket is dirt cheap."
Pros: "Delays everywhere, made no attempt to help until we had already missed our connecting flight."
Pros: "Boarding in PEK airport was so fast!"
Cons: "1. Not allowed to use phones during the flight... at all. 100% ban. This means no music on headphones or any usage at all, even in flight-safe mode. Ridiculous. 2. Forced to shut laptops down a full 30min before landing. So unnecessary. 3. My luggage was soaking wet when I unpacked... a bottle of alcohol from another bag must've smashed and spilt all through my bag. Everything was ruined and wet. 4. No entertainment on the PEK-ICN flight. 5. Crew is just generally aggressive and rude."

Cons: "Small B737 air-craft Delays, delays, delays Cabin Temperature"
Cons: "Our HK to PEK flight was delayed over 7 hours and we missed our connecting flight. Air China HK could not (would not) list us on the next connecting flight to the US out of Beijing. They wouldn't even tell us if there were seats available. They said our only options were to cancel the flight all together and stay in Hong Kong (how does that make any sense) or fly to Beijing and have the Beijing staff help us. Even it meant we'd get stuck in Beijing. We RAN and made it just in time for the PEK to SFO flight. Our friends connecting to LAX were stuck in Beijing for 2 days because the planes were full. AND Air China would not put them on the SFO flight as requested, even though we had plenty of empty seats. ALSO - One of my suitcases did not arrive to SFO. It has been 3 days and I have not received word as to the status of the bag."
Pros: "The crew tried to help"
Cons: "1. Flight got delayed, so I missed my connection and I had to stay at the airport overnight. They did it provide a hotel to stay saying the delay was weather related and not their fault 2. Communication skills are extremely poor in Beijing airport 3. All flights were delayed from Air China."
Pros: "Air China was a very pleasant experience since the price of the ticket was only $622. The plane was good, service was good, food was average and service was fine. The flight was basically easy and I would not hesitate to fly Air China."

Cons: "Departure delay of more than an hour due to air traffic. Prolonged sitting was not good for circulation of blood."

Cons: "Delayed for 6 hrs because mechanical issues. Then I missed my flight to San Francisco. Total delayed time was over 30hours."
Cons: "So I was a little offended when the crew started giving out breakfast during the flight. They completed ignored me and the lady beside me and didn't bother to give us our food. I thought at first that they just had other things to deal with and will come back to us right after but that didn't happen. Moreover, the crew members were busy helping and talking to caucasians who were sitting in the row across the aisle from us. The crew members came back several times to them during the process of giving out food; it is hard for me to be convinced that the crew members simply did not realize that they forgot to give us food. I don't know if this is just a case caused by carelessness or racism but I sure did not feel great about it."
