Pros: "I checked in online and wasn't able to add my bags to my reservation, so figured I would do it when I got to the airport. Big mistake. It cost me NZ$ 215 to heck my two bags (one was admittedly heavy, but that is still an insane amount). I knew I would have to pay for bags but more money because of something that I was unable to adress is absurd."

Cons: "When we booked flight on kayak we were not made aware that we had to buy baggage allowance. When we got to airport and went to check luggage they charged us $900 USD for four normal sized bags, one bag each. Called customer service, waited 25 minutes and then rude agent refused to listen to my concern about this or connect me to anyone that could actually help us. Agents at desk first told me there was no supervisor there I could talk to and then I asked one lady there and she said she was supervisor. I asked if she had another number she could call since I was on hold so long and she flat out lied and said even they have to call that same number I had to get help. She then just walked away and completely ignored me. Not a single person for Jetstar seemed to think $225 per bag was unreasonable or showed any hint of compassion or desire to try and help us. They didn't seem to think it was odd that my bag that weighs 1/4 of what I do cost more to fly then I did. Never fly with them, go with any other carrier. Don't give these greedy and predatory punks a single cent."

Cons: "The website and customer service are annoyingly difficult to use, potentially designed to force you to pay more for extras like bags. For instance, if you pay for your bag ahead of time, it is meant to be cheaper. I tried to pay for my bag ahead of time and it took me to a check-in page. I tried multiple times but only ever got to the same check-in page. Figuring that perhaps I needed to check in first, I did this step only to find that if you pay for your bag after check in, it costs more money!! On the return trip, I felt wiser so I refused to fill in the check-in page before paying for baggage. I exhausted every possible link on their website and ultimately had to call customer service. This took an annoyingly long time. I was told when I tried to pay for a 15kg bag that they had run out of space on the plane and I couldn't pay for this; however, I COULD pay for a 20kg bag at a higher price. WHAT? As I was told this was my only option, I took it, but the logic defies reason and makes me conclude that their systems are simply designed to force you to pay for extras. If I had it to do over, I would just book Air New Zealand for an extra $50-- it would save me plenty of time and hassle."

Pros: "We selected this flight with no knowledge of this airline, as we were coming from the states. Being international traveling for three weeks obviously we had some luggage with us. This domestic flight does not allow any free check in, and you are only allowed 7 kg as a carry-on. You also have to pre-pay for your check in baggage before you get to the airport otherwise you are charged three times the price. If you don't know all of this before you go, you will be in big trouble. I do not recommend this airline for international travelers."

Cons: "Our first flight from queenstown to Gold Coast was delayed for 4 hours, so we were going to miss our connecting flight to cairns. The desk agent in queenstown told us that we could catch the Sydney flight and due to the mistakes that Jetstar made, we would be able to spend our layover in the Qantas lounge. Once we landed, we tried to go to the Qantas lounge and were denied entry and told that we needed Jetstar to call Qantas and give us access. We then went back to Jetstar and they told us there was nothing we could do. We were stuck in the airport, unable to check our luggage as Jetstar has a 2 hour check in policy, and nowhere to go. Will NEVER fly with them again."
