The staff did not know anything and we were not treated great. Super unprofessional and disappointed at Kayak for not laying out all the costs ahead of me."

Without batting an eye, the crew took on the thankless task of cleanup. We noticed that the bulkheads had fixtures embedded in them to allow a small basinet to be attached to the bulkhead. One couple used it for their infant and it seemed to be a lifesaver. I don't know of any other airline that offers this."

Cons: "I booked through Budget Air and was initially online able to confirm seats and meals for my husband and I online with Qantas easily. Months out my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked onto a later flight that would have made us miss all of our transfers to our honeymoon on Fitzroy Island. Because I had booked through 'a 3rd party' Qantas refused to assist me. I managed to convince budget air to change our flights. We were moved to a jetstar flight from Melbourne to cairns. I had to confirm that this had occurred and go through multiple people online to reallocate seats and food options for my husband and myself again. Only my luggage allowance was carried across to jetstar and neither of our meal allowances were. When it came to online check-in with jetstar I could not check my husband in online only myself. I spoke to multiple people online who all confirmed they didn't know why or there was no problem and we should just present ID and check in in person. When we got to the airport Qantas had not transferred the e-ticket code across for my husband's booking and this is why we could not check him in online. The jetstar staff had to try to get his original booking code from Qantas. As it turned out I had to original booking code through budget Air in my hand and had to assert this information to staff. Flying back we were able to check in online fine with Qantas. Our boarding passes printed different sizes but did not present a problem when we dropped off our luggage. When we sent to check in the staff member couldn't get the smaller pass to read and my husband had to assert that he also had it on his phone. Despite all of my online conversations the aisle seat was allocated to me and not my husband who required it because of a medical condition and the flight was 30min delayed. We won't be traveling with Qantas or jetstar, or booking through budget Air again."

Cons: "In regards to the flight: you have to download the VA app to get any entertainment on your own personal device and they do not have powerpoints on the plane to charge your device and the seats are very tight and at an uncomfortable pitch. Otherwise: The baggage situation is out of control. I've never had an international flight that didn't include a checked bag and did not even give you the option to add a checked bag when you are checking in. I booked my flight through Kayak which actually booked through BYOjet--whom you should avoid at all costs. With this booking I never got asked about my baggage requirements or had the option to add baggage--so when I went to check-in on Virgin Australia I was surprised that nothing was included and I needed to add it by calling VA. I called VA and they said they cannot add it over the phone and that I need to do it at the airport at the cost of $130 (!!!!) if plane had the load capacity available (!!!!) and to maybe give my booking agency a call to see if they could help. BYOjet had me on hold for 15 minutes before I gave up and e-mailed (they didn't respond) and I eventually got a hold of them on the phone a couple of hours later--they could not provide any assistance in this situation and they do not have the capacity to ask about baggage needs during online booking (seriously, get a new web developer in that case). In short--do not book through BYOjet and avoid Virgin Australia if you want a pleasant check-in and flight experience."

To summarize we had 2 perfect on-time flights with no fuss or drama. I couldn't recommend them more even if I tried.."

Once we landed, we tried to go to the Qantas lounge and were denied entry and told that we needed Jetstar to call Qantas and give us access. We then went back to Jetstar and they told us there was nothing we could do. We were stuck in the airport, unable to check our luggage as Jetstar has a 2 hour check in policy, and nowhere to go. Will NEVER fly with them again."

That extra time made us miss our connecting flight to the US. We spent almost 3 hours in the Sydney airport getting the run around on what we were supposed to do. When we checked in Queenstown for our flight the person at the desk must have know we would not make our flight as she did not give us a boarding pass for the Sydney to the US flight, but gave no directions on what to do if it was missed. I mentioned our connecting flight and the close connection to the flight attendant and she said it was not their fault."

Which is absurd. Any regular flight allows bag up to 23 Kg before additional charges. This is extortion. Yet there was nothing we could do unless we wanted to leave our bags in Queenstown."

Cons: "I arrived for my flight from Narita to Melbourne only to find that I had to walk over 1,000 meters to get to the check-in and terminal even though I was told to go to the Terminal 2 / 3 stop in the Narita train. Once I got to the check-in counter, the line was very long and everyone seemed overworked. By the time I go tot he counter it was getting late. I tried to check in but apparently my eVisa had expired. I have been traveling to Australia countless number of times and normally they process a new visa directly at the airport. I was told by the staff that "this was not possible" and waved me away. They said there was no way to check-in. I stood by the side of the counter and quickly found my own on line service to process a visa. I was able to get my Visa in 10 minutes, and applied for it on my iPhone! My Visa came through, but only just after the cut off time for the flight check in. Despite that fact that flight had not departed, and would not for another 30 minutes or so, they simply closed up the booking counter and left me standing there... They wouldn't even give me any information on what to do or whether my flight would be canceled or credited back. This rates as one of my worst travel experiences. I went back to my hotel in Tokyo, and then decided to fly the next morning on Singapore air. I did not book on Kayak the second time. I don't think I would ever fly JetStar again."
