Cons: Rooms on canal side are quite dark. Balcony very small - really just so you can stand out and look at canal. Rooms overlooking square will get sunlight. Shower has to be hand held. If use wall attachment floods bathroom. Understand this has to be case to retain original features in bathroom - but maybe a note or explanation on checking in would be a good idea. We had 2 extra beds in sitting room for our kids which worked well (lots of space). They had to come through our room to use the bathroom, which was fine for a couple of nights.

Cons: In a 4 star hotel I expect a variety of options with the cooked breakfasts. Everyday there was just scrambled egg bacon and sausage on offer in the cooked selection. But the worst was the array of excessively sweet cakes, donuts even creme brulee.!! The coffee was awful and the hot chocolate so sweet even my 10 year old wouldn't drink it.

Breakfast service could have been better as busy but the food was superb. Bit disappointed that there was not a restaurant as such on site as advertised but room service was quick and tasty. Lots of restaurants nearby but as a lone traveller nice to have one on site. This is a proper 4 * hotel.

Cons: Staff are very well dressed and say the right words, but I never sensed any authenticity, warmth, friendliness, etc.. I asked for assistance on several occasions from different people related to getting to the airport, a restaurant recommendation, directions, etc and the responses were typically curt and robotic. The only exception was the porter/bellhop from the Philippines, he was great. I would expect more from a 4-star hotel when I'm paying $400-500 per night. It was as if they didn't like their jobs. The same experience was noted in the restaurant which was located in the sister hotel next door. Doubt I will return given the opportunity.

Spectacular views from the restaurant and attentive service at the ground floor bar. We paid for a standard room and got exactly what we expected a side room without a view but given we spent most of our time out and about that was absolutely fine for our needs. We ordered room service the first night and enjoyed two enormous club sandwiches (one would have been enough for us both) with a bottle of wine, all delivered promptly and set up on a lovely table with snowy white linens. We could not have been treated better.

Pros: This historic hotel is simply spectacular. The public areas of the hotel (and some of the guest rooms) are located in a 14th century palazzo that still has its original staircase running off the reception area. Our room with stand up balconies which overlooked the lagoon was just lovely, with a large and well appointed bathroom. The location a couple of minutes from San Marco Square is excellent. The hotel staff were uniformly helpful. The buffet breakfasts on the roof top terrace are well worth the money.

Cons: 1st night in hotel, shower did not drain and flooded the whole bathroom floor. Had to call for someone to come up and drain the shower. He ended up pulling out a big wad of hair the size of my fist.

Pros: Fantastic location. Clean and comfortable. Spacious marble bathroom with his and her basins. Excellent staff and service throughout. Spectacular views from the restaurant and attentive service at the ground floor bar. We paid for a standard room and got exactly what we expected a side room without a view but given we spent most of our time out and about that was absolutely fine for our needs. We ordered room service the first night and enjoyed two enormous club sandwiches (one would have been enough for us both) with a bottle of wine, all delivered promptly and set up on a lovely table with snowy white linens. We could not have been treated better.
Cons: It is and expensive hotel and therefore you need relatively deep pockets if you want to eat every meal there. Breakfast at 35 euros was expensive but the choice was fantastic and it was worth every penny for the quality, service and the stunning views.

Pros: This historic hotel is simply spectacular. The public areas of the hotel (and some of the guest rooms) are located in a 14th century palazzo that still has its original staircase running off the reception area. Our room with stand up balconies which overlooked the lagoon was just lovely, with a large and well appointed bathroom. The location a couple of minutes from San Marco Square is excellent. The hotel staff were uniformly helpful. The buffet breakfasts on the roof top terrace are well worth the money.

The twin mattresses did not have a pad on top when put together to make a king as other hotels often do. The hair dryer worked, but barely, and the shower would go from warm to cold to scalding. Like the heading says... not a fan.

Cons: The key situation. They would only give one key and it had to be turned in to the desk whenever we went out. There were two of us and weren't always together, so that was annoying. Also, we were staying in the annex so we had to keep going to the lobby in the main building every time we went in or out.

We’ve booked 3 people’s room ,cost 3k+ .however the room is different between the pictures we saw in booking its too small and I was shocked when I come into the room .The lock of toilet door is broken ,the wifi is extremely slow . Cons: Our first night was in a room which smelt like sewerage. There were no other rooms available so we had to sleep in there with the awful smell. Our second room was much better but they had run out of kettles so we weren’t able to make tea in our room. The television also didn’t work initially. I felt like I was constantly having to ask for things.

Cons: For a hotel in this very high price bracket the facilities have not been updated for too long. We were upgraded to a better room, on the Grand Canal with admittedly amazing views. But, the floor was broken in parts in the bedroom and in the bathroom, almost dangerous stepping out of the shower. No extra sockets provided in the bedroom for charging, we went to hunt for a socket which would still work when the lights were out, had to dig one behind the bed and ask for extension leads. No kettle available the first night and certainly no proper tea cups or mugs available beyond the minuscule coffee cup. Breakfast was a joke: proper eggs beyond the scrambled mix (so likely from a carton and not fresh) were charged extra, no plain yogurt available, no whole grain breads, only low quality cereals offered and certainly no alternative milks, had thyme the first morning but kitchen had used it all up the next day.. and certainly nothing organic. As tourists keep coming in maybe the hotel does not care to provide high end accommodation and breakfast but still charge high end prices. It is time to call their bluff.

Coffee is just about ok, but drinkable. Location is spot on, 5 mins to San Marco and 10 mins from Rialto. Loads of restaurants within 10mins. The Caffe bar Brasilia is just outside of the hotel and serves until the early hours. Our room was overlooking the bar, but we never heard any noise so no problem there plus it was handy for a late nightcap. Would highly recommend this Hotel.

Cons: So we got to the hotel- they give us a third floor room. My husband is handicap. When I tell the man he said oh well- that’s all we have. So we make it to the hotel- it is the wrong size bed then what we ordered. The place is a nightmare .

Cons: This hotel is very outdated, and seems to not have been renovated in years and years. Despite the beautiful and luxurious furniture, beds and bathroom- they are so old it takes away from the experience. The whole room smelt terribly like a sewer (even moreso in the bathroom). The bathtub was so old and filled with holes that had been plastered up. I had also booked a double bed room only to find that it was two single beds pushed together, with a clear gap in the middle that I kept finding myself in at night. In my opinion, to be worth the money this hotel needs an update.

Cons: The worst and rudest customer service ever seen. Do not go by pictures, in reality their rooms are very bad. It does not deserve even one star. I ended up making new reservation of an apartment by paying 200 euro per night. Moreover when I tried to cancel my old reservation via booking agency, they threatened us that we may have to leave their property. Now think of what you do when you are with the family on a vacation. Over commercialization has degraded quality everywhere. But this one is the worst. Please STAY AWAY from this hotel.

Pros:
Cons: This was the most terribly booked hotel during my entire trip in Italy. Definitely not worth the money i paid. Staff weren’t helpful as i reached the hotel. No one bothered to help on the luggage. I had a hard time sleeping as I was bitten by mosquitoes. The bed was itchy. The room was extreme smaller than what I booked. Really disappointed. Will never ever book this place.

Cons: Breakfast is a real let down. More 2 star than 4 star so would advise eat out. Theatre cafe round corner super. Sliced bread served in Italy! Coffee from an urn! Very limited choice for 15 Euro a person. Had better in a Holiday Inn. Such a shame.

Cons: The staff member on the day we arrived was quite rude. He was not really interested in our comments and did not answer our questions. The offer of a free trip to the Milano Glass Factory online was not available and when I questioned this and mentioned my disappointment the staff member mentioned above said, " it is a service we offer but not all the time, this is not explained very well on line, but what service is?" I found this to be a very poor explanation and no apologies were made to us.

Cons: I booked a room at Hotel Ca Dei Conti, but the room was located in another building across a canal with the name Palazzo Querini on the front. The biggest detractors were the staircase in the room that made it difficult to got to the bed and the breakfast

Cons: Air conditioning control in our room was broken which meant the room was stuffy. Sleeping with the window open was a mistake as the street noise is too much, and we got bitten by mosquitoes. The only part of the system which worked was a bright display showing the temperature in red, which we had to cover at night (we didn’t need to see it to know it was a few degrees too hot to sleep comfortably). The cold tap produced the slightest trickle which made tooth brushing difficult. Everything felt tired and shabby. Altogether, not what we expected at the amount we paid.

The walls were paper thin and you could hear whole conversations from the adjacent room, residents banging doors from 6am 2 out of the 3 mornings, maids starting at 7am and making noise outside the room and leaving the rubbish there all day, small double meant very small double (box room), breakfast - poor choice and quality if you were lucky enough to be seated, find a plate and be given cutlery. Staff were not bothered or helpful even when we spoke to them.

Worked by second day. Bath funky with an old hairdryer. You took a shower with the curtain. Tiny room and tiny bath. Noise from street at times.

Cons: The furnishings were old and disappointingly faded for the price we were paying. One of our first rooms was located next to the air conditioning motor on the roof and was insanely loud. To their credit, they did allow us to relocate that room. Upon check in, we were told breakfast was included in our room and the times it would be available. Disappointingly, after our party of six had started eating breakfast, we were then told that our rooms did not include breakfast. When I reminded them of what they had told us at checkin, they said I must have misunderstood. 15 euro per person when we could have easily fed my four children for 1/5 of that price at the bakery around the corner had we known was annoying.
