Pros: Wonderful large and luxurious rooms. Terrific breakfast! This place was so central and perfect for a romantic stay in Venice!
Just a few steps from some of the worlds greatest sights, the Splendid Venice is a charming luxury hotel, as elegant as Venice itself. In the sixteenth century, it was an inn; today, it is a residence of rare refinement overlooking the canals and the Mercerie, the age-old streets, or calli, that link Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge. The sun sets on the Bridge of Sighs / the Ponte dei Sospiri. The gondolas glide by at the window. The old cafs in St Mark's Square /Piazza San Marco fill with life. A stay at the Splendid Venice offers this and so much more, with an atmosphere as intimate as a stately home, with spaces created for conversation, relaxation and contemplating Venice in all its splendor, in all its hidden corners. After a day exploring the countless wonders of this unique city, the Splendid Venice is the ideal refuge; cosy, welcoming and, above all, suffused with warm, authentic, impeccable Italian hospitality. With a private mooring for boats, the hotel nestles in a central yet quiet location just a short stroll from some of the city's iconic landmarks. The 165 rooms and suites offer Venetian elegance at its finest. Many vaunt wonderful views over the canals and rooftops, the bell towers and the "altanas", typical Venetian terraces. All have luxurious, refined furnishings and exquisite details, where silver, brown and lilac set the tone for the wallpaper and damask designs that evoke the Serenissimas textile tradition. The restaurant promises a gourmet experience with an array of authentic Venetian recipes to savour. The spacious meeting room accommodates up to 35 people in a relaxed, private setting for high-level events and meetings. From the Les Clefs d'Or Concierge to the 24-hour room service, from the tranquil library to the chic altana, all our services are carefully crafted to make your stay unforgettable.

Pros: I stayed at the Casanova Suites which adjacent to the Bauers and for a family of four was great!! The location is just the greatest. The rooms were huge and they offered everything including 2 bathrooms!!! If you are traveling with young adults and spending time in Venice, this place is it. It was not cheap and it shouldnt be but well worth it!! Your on the main canal and yds from St Marks square. I will recomend it to my friends.

Pros: Location is very good.
Cons: It is a expensive hotel, the service was not very nice with the exception of concierge, that they did a great gob. The shower was leaking water so every time you use it, there was water all over the restroom, the hair dryer did not work, Just details that you take for granted at that price range hotels.

Pros: The property is what one should expect from a HGI. There is a lounge area with outside seating. A pool, a restaurant with inside and outside seating. Hotel offers paid for buffet breakfast. Rooms are nice and beds comfortable. The best thing is the bus line to Venice (only 2 stops) is across the parking lot. Hotel offers bus and water bus (a necessity) tickets at the desk. Easy!! Less than 10 mins and you are at the start of Venice!! Half the price of any place in Venice and conveniently located!

Pros: After spendng a few days in Venice we needed some peace and the HIlton was perfect. Only a short ride to the islands via the bus. But the luxury of a hotel with all the amenities nearby. Visit Mestre for an alternate experience and a more authentic feel. Staff at the hotel were very helpful. Restaurant was good, need a more expanded menu. Had the Casesar salad and had to return as the salad was swiming in dressing. Soup was very good and the house salad huge and well presented. Staff in the restaurant were outstanding.

Pros: Ease reaching from airport for late arrival or jet lagged traveler. Busy, so early check in, even for gold Honors members, seems rare, at least on weekend. Staff was pleasant. I liked that I could get bus/vaporetto pass there -- and recommend it since you'll need to travel by both to get into Venice. We had facility difficulties...the tea pot blew the lighting! They responded quickly and fixed the lights, ut never provided us with a working tea kettle. Also did not offer any reimbursement or accommodation. For anyone with mobility issues, know that returning from Venice on the bus lets you off across the street, where the only way to cross is a very high overpass with stairs. You can, however, request the hotel to send their van across the street to pick you up. WE found this out because we asked how to get across. Convenient to airport.
Cons: Having a meal in the restaurant....not bad, but p

Pros: Loved the location of this hotel because it was centrally located between the airport and cruise terminal. The hotel assisted us with all transfers to and from both. Additionally, their is a bus stop right in front of the hotel with quick and inexpensive (€3 round-trip) into central Venice. And the hotel conveniently sells the bus tickets. The restaurant and bar were nice. Food was good. Room excellent and hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Pros: Take a water taxi to Piazza San Marco and you are only a few steps to the hotel. The hotel included a free boat trip to Murano to see a glass blowing studio and they also offer a one-hour boat tour around town in the afternoon for only 25 Euros per person. A decent hot and cold breakfast buffet was provided by the restaurant out front. We also enjoyed a dinner of traditional Italian specialties at the same restaurant in the evening. Our room was an inside room, so our view was only the courtyard area - but that was okay because all we had to do was step out the front door of the hotel and we were in the heart of beautiful scenery. If you request a waterfront room you will have gorgeous views. Our room seemed to be recently updated because everything looked clean and brand new. The bathroom was small but very modern with a relatively large walk-in shower - and it also looked like it had been recently renovated. The hotel common areas were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not disturb our visit at all.
Cons: The hotel thought of everything - like a selection of soap products, hair dryer, mirrors, convenience packs, robes, etc., but it took up a great deal of space in an already tight bathroom.

Pros: The hotel is located right in the middle of the tourism.boat access was simple and walking along waterfront at night was delightful. Hotel room was small but upgraded bathrooms were clean and nice. Gym was high tech with treadmill bike and weights but many runners opt for the waterfront unless too late in the day and the crowds make it impossible to get around
Cons: Upgrade carpets and Bedspreads tv had very spotty reception Ac unit would click 3times and turn on

Pros: The location was fantastic. Buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and the restaurant is great for people watching at any time - the staff is wonderful. One of the best Aperol Spritz I've ever had. The room was large and despite how busy it was outside, it was very quiet inside - it even had electric shades to get the room really dark. Venetian glass chandelier and lamps were a beautiful touch.
Cons: The hairdryer was awful - really needs to be upgrade. The cost was extremely high and I'm not sure it was worth that amount. The bed was like sleeping on a board - but some people may like it that hard, and the pillows were flat and hard. A few simple upgrades would have made the stay much better.

9.4
Pros: Beautiful old hotel. small rooms, but efficient and comfortable for 2 people. Great decorative touches in the room. Our room had views of the grand canal, with windows that could've opened for a fresh breeze off the water. Breakfast included in the price of stay, and was delicious, with many options on the buffet, fresh made cappuccinos, and views of the water. Extremely easy access to vaporetto, minutes walk from San Marco and many restaurants and shops. Very friendly English speaking staff
Cons: A con for some: we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our room even after taking the elevator, which was fine for us, but may be problematic or some; the elevator was tiny, which seems fairly standard for Italy, but good to know. In general recommend packing light, no matter where you stay as navigating over bridges in the city can be challenging with big bags!

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, like staying in a museum. Having breakfast surrounded by frescoes was a unique experience
Cons: I asked the front desk to help me book a train to Florence the night prior to checking out. They told me that they could not do this for me, but not to worry as the trains don't sell out anyway. Unfortunately when we showed up at the train station, the train to Florence we needed was sold out ruining our plans for the afternoon. Pros: Great location, 600 feet from train station . Old building ( this is a very old city ) but makes you feel as though you have gone back in time . Great food , service excellent. Front desk guys can be a little stuffy , but they upgraded us at no charge .

Pros: It's at good location
Cons: The worst and rudest customer service ever seen. Do not go by pictures, in reality their rooms are very bad. It does not deserve even one star. I ended up making new reservation of an apartment by paying 200 euro per night. Moreover when I tried to cancel my old reservation via booking agency, they threatened us that we may have to leave their property. Now think of what you do when you are with the family on a vacation. Over commercialization has degraded quality everywhere. But this one is the worst. Please STAY AWAY from this hotel.

Pros: The location near San Marco square cannot be beat. The lobby is beautiful.
Cons: The furnishings were old and disappointingly faded for the price we were paying. One of our first rooms was located next to the air conditioning motor on the roof and was insanely loud. To their credit, they did allow us to relocate that room. Upon check in, we were told breakfast was included in our room and the times it would be available. Disappointingly, after our party of six had started eating breakfast, we were then told that our rooms did not include breakfast. When I reminded them of what they had told us at checkin, they said I must have misunderstood. 15 euro per person when we could have easily fed my four children for 1/5 of that price at the bakery around the corner had we known was annoying.

While not a 7 star luxiourious hotel, it was beautiful when you walk in, rooms were clean and cute with Venician decor and staff was very helpful and kind. Pros: Great location - 1 bridge over from San Marco Plaza - the heart of whats happening in Venice. Gondolier picked us up right out the side dock and it was close and easy walking to a lot of sights etc. Staff was very kind & helpful. Breakfast can be hectic if you come at high traffic but all in all not bad. A very good value for the money in Venice and location cannot be beat.
Cons: no dislikes - but a heads up. If you arrive by water taxi from airport at high tide, you cannot get across the plaza. The hotel sent a front desk person who helped arrange a porter for our luggage and a circuitous route back to hotel. Confusing at first but became 2nd nature after first day. We had a person in a wheelchair with limited mobility so Venice presents some challenges but location of this hotel and especially when not high tide makes it manageable.

Pros: Convenient location to St Marks Piazza, many museums, many and highly varied shops and the many water taxies. Breakfast, which was included in the total price each night, was quite expansive for a European hotel that was not charging additional costs for the meal -- a very nice selection of fruit, cereals, meats and even hot mini-omlettes.
Cons: Room was really too small- much smaller than any US motel room and barely larger than the 'miniature Japanese-style roomettes found in the East. Two adults, with luggage overfilled the sleeping area. Bathroom was more than adequately large and quite comfortable.
"This family-friendly Venice hotel is located in the historical district, steps away from St. Mark's Basilica, St. Mark's Square and Bridge of Sighs. Grand Canal and Doge's Palace are also within 10 minutes. Venice Santa Lucia Station is 25 minutes by foot. "

Pros: The location is great you are literally next to the Plaza and the Basilica. There are many great places to eat and you can walk anywhere. Also, the location is close to the water buses and taxi's.
Cons: It's not glamorous but serviceable for a few nights. Rooms can get a little tight and getting to your room can be an adventure
