The reception staff were excellent and very welcoming. When we arrived they were quick to show us to our room with little fuss which I really appreciated. The room was lovely and cool with everything you need.
The breakfast was a little unorganised
Camera Matrimoniale Superior was a dream ! Cosy corridors leading to a intimate room with a very large bed with beautiful light system. Insonorisation is on top, never heard other rooms, feels like the hotel is just for you! Breakfast buffet is also impressive (make sure to head there before 10am though!). Staff was super kind, helped us with vaporetti routes and kept our luggages the day we left. Position is also an asset, being only 3 min by foot from the Santa-Lucia train station. I can't wait to come back!
Shame that the jacuzzi was not working... hope they fix it soon! Also the view was not quite I expected it to be.
Breakfast arrangement on first day. We were asked to fill in a detailed order form for delivery to room (no other possibility) and a time. Time came and went and had to go and collect the food which was not as ordered. Second day much more organised.
Great location. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
Hotel Abbazia is just two minutes away from Santa Lucia train station, and the Ferrovia vaporetto (water bus) station is even closer. You can catch a ride on the vaporetto from there any time day or night to San Marco or anywhere you want, or you can just cross the "Ponte dei Scalzi" on Canal Grande and walk your way from there. The hotel entrance is tucked away inside a small alley, and you might have to ask for directions if it is your first time in Venice, but it should be easy for you to find. As for the hotel itself, it is really a charming hotel, and the staff, lead by the manager Alvise Vianello, are the friendliest and most charming staff you would ever counter. The are welcoming and accommodating that you'd feel right at home when you are there. The room itself was very nice and well maintained, it is of a good size, and has all the needed amenities. The bathroom was also clean and of a good size. The hotel also has Wi-Fi and it's free of charge for the guests. The breakfast was basic, and actually was of the widest varieties that we've experienced in our 6 cities Italian adventure, but again, breakfast is not exactly Italy's biggest export. We loved our stay in the hotel Abbazia, and we loved the kindness of its staff, and if we ever went back to Venice, I'd make sure to stay there again.
The shower handler was broken, but it was not really an issue for me.
With a stay at Hotel Abbazia, you'll be centrally located in Venice, steps from Grand Canal and 7 minutes by foot from Piazzale Roma. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
