Pros: I enjoyed the location, and the staff was very accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and (with the exception of the night and morning noises from the adjacent room's toilet) it was very quiet and peaceful. The window has a wonderful view of the canal. I was warned that Giudecca (the island) was not a good place to stay because it takes so long to travel to Venice, but that's simply not true. I never had to wait for more than five minutes for a trip to Venice. I should also mention that the price of a room at the Hotel Giudecca was substantially lower than rooms on Venice. The island itself is quieter and calmer. The hotel's breakfast was very good and the service was excellent.
Cons: Wifi only works in the lobby. What traveler wants to be limited to that tiny area? Who wants to conduct private business like banking online while surrounded by strangers? It's an unsafe and inconvenient practice. And even there the reception for the wifi was spotty. I would suggest better wifi for the modern traveler. This might be a cost-prohibitive "fix" to make, but if-- like I do-- you have business to transact online while on vacation, you'll want better connectivity to the internet. My single room was organized so that the head of my bed was up against a wall with a door to the next room, and it was pretty clear that right on the other side was a bathroom as I could hear the occupant's "rituals." In spite of these issues, though, the hotel is an excellent value.

Pros: Big gorgeous rooms, kept impeccably clean and with individual bed lights and outlets. The common room/bar/restaurant was a great place to hang out, which meant the rooms stayed quiet too.

Cons: For the expensive room rate, I was shocked by a couple of things: - there was no free/included wifi - there were mosquitoes in the room. is it terribly hard to install screens? - there were stains on the wall from mosquitoes being squashed/killed - service was just OK One night is not enough time to take advantage of the amenities you're paying for.

Pros: Good hotel, far from the attraction but there are shuttle for the other side where the attractions are. The shuttle every 30 mins until midnight

Pros: The locaiton was away from the hussle and bussle of Venice but only a short boat ride away. The hotel's garden makes it feel like you are worlds away from a busy metropolis.

Pros: A 5 minute free shuttle ride across from Piazza San Marco to an utterly relaxing retreat in Venice. The service and staff are second to none.

Pros: Almost everything. The room was beautiful, across a small garden. The staff was very accommodating. The gardens were a particularly nice touch.
Cons: One major gripe: internet access (important, as this was a business trip) was very poor. Connections dropped constantly, and otherwise ran remarkably slowly. The only other gripe is very minor: as the hotel is in Giudecca, it's a bit of a "trip" to get to the main island. On the other hand, that's how it has the beautiful gardens and how it's not surrounded by crowds all the time...
