Paris hotels near Luxembourg Gardens

Pros: Very closed to all attraction, bus is right outside.

Cons: Love to stay again!

Pros: The staff was helpful when I had questions.

Cons: Although helpful, I still came away with feeling they wanted to separate guests from their money as quickly as possibly. They were not warm and did not exhibit the hospitality I come to expect from today's hotels. Two examples: On checking in, I specifically asked for a quiet room away from the elevator. Although the relatively room was quiet it was next to the elevator. Unfortunately, because of my jet lag, I didn't realized this until I'd occupied the room. Why would the check-in clerk not consider my request? The second day, leaving the breakfast area I saw a huge cockaroach. I took a picture and sent it to the hotel by email to be discrete about it. They thanked me for the information and said they'd take care of it. When I checked out a bit later in the morning, the clerk told me an exterminator would be there in half an hour. Great for them. But never once did they say they express any need to be forgiven for having a dirty place. They didn't even comp me for the unpleasant experience. I just don't get it. If you want to sell yourselves as a four star establishment you can't just be superficial about it. You have to deliver through and through which is consider this place to be a wanna be four star. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone looking for authentic hospitality and superior service. By way of comparison, I was in Paris 2 years ago and stayed in a two star hotel in the same area and found the service to be of much higher quality. Next visit, I'll go back to them.

Pros: The hotel is in a great location and the lobby and other public facilities were beautiful. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We also liked that there were several restaurants all within the same square as the hotel.

Cons: The rooms were tiny and the bathroom made me feel a bit claustrophobic. Also, the Internet only worked during the day.

Pros: great design of the room, top floor (6th) was excellent, and you could not beat the TV in the bathroom mirror. really happy with this perfectly located gem.

Pros: The best in Select Hotel is location. It is situated in the center of Paris and it has good neighborhood with Sorbona and Luxemburg park. Muy bien.

Pros: Very good location, very fancy common spaces (hall, breakfast room, reception). The room at the sixth floor was good, but not as great as common spaces.

Cons: Bathtube/shower uncomfortable (without hang up for the shower and without shower curtain, it's a mess with the water everywhere).

Pros: Loved the unique pastel colored bedroom and style of everything from the sink to the shower etc.

Pros: Perfect location in heart of Latin district. Staff kind and courteous. Room extremely well appointed. Very clean. In the heart of it all! Nearby a HUGE park with tons of different points of interest: running track, tennis, little sailboats on a fountain for kids, kids playground, gardens and concerts.

Pros: The White Rabbit, or le Lapin Blanc, is a boutique hotel that has got everything right. Extremely efficient room layout yet still with design features that make it attractive rather than sterile. Desk staff were most welcoming, Position on St Michel just a block from St Germain cannot be better. While the price is not cheap, it is a really good price for the value received. Alice wins.

Pros: Great Paris location next to the Jardin Luxembourg and Latin Quarter. Super easy access to the RER/Metro. Easy walks to various wonderful restaurants (Chez Marcel, Le Timbre, Les Papilles, etc). The staff was always very friendly, helpful, and accommodating (of our poor French).

Cons: The hotel was restyled and is no longer an old classic 3 star hotel, but is trying to be a boutique hotel with limited success (style-wise). The rooms are very small (equivalent to a cruise ship bedroom/bathroom size).

Pros: Staff were lovely and it's in a great location - next door to the Luxembourg gardens. Probably would br even nicer in spring/summer when the weather's warm but it was so cold we didn't get to hang about too long! The room we had was small (but so are most hotel rooms in Paris) and pretty basic but it was clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money and would definitely recommend it.

Pros: The staff understood we were on vacation, so they gave us very much information about tours, schedules, taxis, buses, etc. The room was comfortable and very clean with a safe box that gave us a lot of confidence. The bathroom was big. The distance to Sena river very short about 15 min walking.

Pros: we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel for the following reasons its location it was easy to find close to rail station and close to a lot of attractions and tour bus pick ups The gentlemen at reception were very friendly and helpfull. The room was comfertable and quite at night and the breakfast was exellent but a bit over priced. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Pros: The staff. They were helpful and patient with this non-French speaking American. The hotel at which I stayed in another region of France immediately before the Luxemborg reinforced the bad reputation that the French have. Thankfully, this trip ended on a good note with the staff here.

Cons: In order to conserve electricity, the lights in the hallway outside my room were motion activated. Unfortunately, I think the motion detector was on the opposite end of my room, so whenever I left my room I had to walk in the dark until I got to the other end.

Pros: The room was clean, the bathroom large, the staff friendly,and the hotel was still within walking distance of some of the central sites such as the Louvre.

Cons: Standard room was tiny, shower difficult to not get water on floor, closet won't hold standard hangers. Worst was heating system that ran too hot all week. Only solution was opening balcony door and listening to street noise all night.

Pros: The hotel is in a great location near The Luxembourg Gardens, which are great on a nice day. There are many restaurants nearby and the staff is really helpful.

Cons: Staff had some difficulty with English. The AC worked well in one room and poorly in another.

Pros: We stayed at the Hotel Mercure for our anniversary and were delighted with the accomodations. The hotel was beautiful and the room was clean, comfortable, modern and well appointed. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always going the extra mile to provide outstanding service. The Hotel Mercure has larger rooms than we have seen in Paris and even has several dedicated accessible rooms for differently abled guests. For travelers from out of town, the hotel is very conveniently located, close to two different metro lines and the bus. Within three blocks there are several fine restaurants and brasseries, three grocery stores, and a wide variety of shops, bakeries and boutiques. Most of the hotel staff speak very good English if you are still working on learning French. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Paris.

Cons: our room was not ready by 5 pm in the afternoon by a mistake and the cleaning lady did not want to do it late in the afternoon. so we spent a night in another room and then we have changed it. but the staff has offered us the breakfast in order to compensate which was kind.

Pros: Very bad experiences I got with that particular hotel, most guest been awaked from sleep at 3:00 O'clock in the morning by a defective fire alarm systems.Most of us been gathered at the hotel reception at a cold nightwearing only a light pyjama some half dresses !!!!!

Cons: In my triple room there was no coffe service and no ironing kit as they wrote in an offer.

Pros: Room was compact and had everything I needed. It was clean. Very good location. STaff were all congenial and pleasant.

Cons: A single room that is as small as this one was can cause claustrophobia over ten days of stay. The bed was too near the window and when the weather was bad I was cold. You should offer larger rooms for singles on a longer stay. I would have been happy to pay extra but no one told me. I found it hard to hear cnn as it had a quieter audio setting than the other stations. More movies and interesting programs needed. Single people do not stay out late into the night so they some entertainment in their room for evening.

Pros: Excellent front desk staff, especially the pleasant,very friendly and helpful Oriental lady at the reception counter..patient too, smiles a lot ( unusual in many French hotel staff) goes the second mile for guests.Clean and central, very walkable to many "must- sees" in Paris

Cons: None that we can think of ...except the room would benefit from a refitting ( especially new wall paper) to match the bathroom which was a well renovated one.
