Pros: Very helpful staff very clean very comfortable
Cons: I thought the price for the full buffet breakfast was too high. I asked for americano and the waiter poured about a third of the cup with coffee, I was not offered a top up after this and it was only luke warm. After check out we discovered we had been overcharged for the breakfast, however the staff were very quick to rectify this once we informed them.

Pros: 1st they are SO ACCOMODATING. Thanks to guest services, concierge DENNIS :-0 and the crew plus the front door attendants, managers, housekeeping are all amazing. Guest Service Rep came to greet us and had the goats milk avail for my daughter. In the USA we can only purchase at select store and did not realize it was more common to have in Dublin. We have made Dublin-the Shelbourne as our #1 headquarters. The quality of our stay, the fact they have vetted services for a nanny, great food, amazing polite service from all departments simply speaks volumes. Mr. Hanley and his staff at this fine establishment continue to amaze me. I really appreciate the peace of mind they bring to me and my little 1 and 2 year old children each visit. We surely feel special and love the amazing spacious rooms. THANK YOU ALL!! See you again next year.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Love the location and friendly staff. Little macarons in room were a nice touch. Plates used to say “happy anniversary” in chocolate the last time I was here but they didn’t this time.
Cons: I got to the hotel at 2.30 as check in time was at 3 but we had to wait for our room to be ready in the bar and they took our phone number to call us to say it when it was ready. By 5pm there was still no call so we went down stairs and the que had gotten worse so we qued again after 2.5 hours of waiting for our room and thankfully got our keys. Was really looking forward to using the spa facilities before dinner but this was not possible because of the delay. This delay really ruined our anniversary plans. The room was also way too hot and the bathroom fan was extremely loud. Light switches were broken and yep in the end we just felt like we had wasted a lot of money for something underwhelming and not special. We went to use the pool in the morning at 7 as we couldn’t sleep and they told us we had to buy swim hats. Which should really be included in your stay then we got in to the pool, there was a plaster on the floor. Disgusted we got our and went to the sauna which was out of order and then went to a small medium heated steam room. Really bad spa experience. Then we went for breakfast which wasn’t included in the €319 rate for the night. Absolute rip off! Not sure how this hotel has 5stars. Next time we will stay in the Merrion. Seems like it’s badly managed, greedy and over crowded.

Cons: When I arrived at 10AM, there was no room ready (understandable), but when I returned in the afternoon, I was shown to a room with a worker working on scaffolding directly outside my window. Cons: There was no complimentary water or tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was very annoying. We have to queue to get into the restaurant for breakfast - first time I've ever had to queue in a hotel for breakfast and did not expect this from a 5 * hotel.

Pros: The fact that it was luxury hotel, we only stayed the one night so we didn't have much time at the hotel, we were going to a concert.
Cons: One thing when we arrived, the hotel didn't seem to have our booking which you should have confirmed with them, its not the fact that this was not done by yourselves, but the fact was, what if they did not have a room for us, but luckily they did, so we were disappointed in your service.. You will have to take that up with the hotel themselves in this matter. They said that our booking reference was not from their website & that we should have confirmed this ourselves, but why should we if we have it down in black & white that it was confirmed by booking.com

Pros: As a fairly frequent traveler, this was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. Spotless, classy, the staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel inside. My room was also one of the quietest I've experienced. Just an all around great hotel.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the area. Close to the airport, but not exactly the safest place to be during late day/early evening (as told to me by a policeman when I had gotten a bit lost returning to my hotel from downtown and was checking to see if I was heading in the correct direction).
Plus, the distance from downtown is a bit of a stretch if you don't have a car. However, the LUAS (tram system) is right outside the door, so that was partly my fault as I had not reviewed the transportation system prior to my trip.

Cons: Walls are thin. Heard many conversations from next room. Also Oly's Restaurant is mediocre. Acceptable if you're too knackered to go out.

we ate in the hotel all weekend and from the breakfast right down to the food after the concert was superb.

Cons: I cannot say anything bad about the property. I would definitely come back. We travel to Dublin often and this is our first time here. This will definitely be our “go to” hotel from now on.

Cons: Carpet needs to be vacuumed and or replaced in rooms. Well trodden. Some staff at front desk helpful and some not helpful at all and made you feel like you were a bother. Would recommend this hotel. Breakfast in morning overpriced and overrated. Go in the square adjent to get good food and coffee.

Pros: Great location. Not right in the middle of everything so it was a quieter area yet easily accessible to most sights. The gym was very good, much better than the average hotel gym. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice as well.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was huge, bed comfortable, and the shower never ran out of hot water and had "full" power
Cons: Parking garage is a little far and hard to get to if you have a car. There is no pull up driveway to load your bags and this made it a little bit difficult not knowing this prior to arrival

Pros: The hotel was really nice and modernly furnished. Our room had a huge bed and we had a view of the river. The check in staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is also a spa on site and a swimming pool which we didn't visit this time but we may do in the future.
Cons: Parking was a bit of an issue, we had been told there should be space in the nearby car park but on arrival there was no space available. We were told by the person on the intercom that there was an alternative car park nearby which was fine but a little stressful as we didn't know Dublin well and it took us a while to find the other car park, we weren't told where it was just that it was part of a college. I appreciate the hotel is in a busy area and you can't reserve parking but it is disappointing to arrive expecting to park as a guest of the hotel. Our other issue was with the breakfast which was €30 for two people. While the food we had was nice (I wouldn't say it was worth €30 by any means), we waited for someone to bring us tea but none of the staff approached us. They seemed to be rushing around clearing other tables. We appreciate it was busy but it would've been nice to have been offered a cup of tea with breakfast when it costs as much as it did. That was quite disappointing. I didn't want to rant but this appears to have turned into a bit of a rant. The final issue was with the level of noise that we could hear from our room. We had the misfortune of being adjacent to the lifts and right next to a vending machine so all through the night we could hear the noisy comings and goings of other guests along with the sound of bottles of drinks bashing their way around a vending machine.

Pros: Staff were nice and very helpful. My quiet room was really very quiet.
Cons: I found seeds on the floor that must have come from a roll or something that I did not eat or bring into the room, so that made me think the cleaning was not very thorough. The mattress on the bed was extremely soft, which made it a little uncomfortable.

Cons: While the hotel may be a bit older in some regards than others, we were pleased with nearly all aspects of our stay. They do lack a concierge desk and bellhops ever ready to assist with luggage and taxis. However, the front desk always found help with our luggage and arranged our taxis without any problem . If you're looking for the best in hotels, the Davenport may lack a bit, but, we found it to be quite a good hotel and well worth booking.

Pros: Breakfast room service
Cons: Crib the provided us was stained and in terrible shape. They did replace it after we called.
There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, no robes or slippers, and only instant coffee and black team(no decaf tea) in your room.
They also don’t have a doorman When we called downstairs to request help with our bags upon check out we were told they were too busy and wouldn’t be available for “a while” so we did it our selves. However when we showed up downstairs there was a porter hanging around who didn’t didn’t help with the door while we were carrying 6 bags between two of us and a baby.
For a four star place it really lacks some basic amenities which is disappointing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Alex was fantastic - the rooms, staff, and beds!
Cons: The only thing I wish was that they had was room service for breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent room. So comfortable and stylish. Brilliant location.
Cons: The staff were rude, inattentive and unhelpful on a consistent basis. It appeared difficult to explain where the parking on Alexander Court was, they did not explain correctly regarding payment for parking, we stood for over 5 minutes waiting to be seated for dinner at the restaurant and were ignored on a number of occasions by two members of restaurant staff, and we were incorrectly charged for breakfast. Highly disappointing aspect to an otherwise beautiful hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very well designed room, nice staff. Proper block out curtains.
Cons: Very opaque policy about placing a hold on my credit card of 150 euro- for 'extras' such as room service I had no intention of purchasing. Announced to me on arrival as a policy, but no warning at time of booking. Also hold was not taken off my card when I checked out- still on there days later. Hotels that do this need to make the customer aware at the time of booking. Only a very thick winter quilt which was too hot, no other bedding choice so did not sleep that well.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Newly refurbished. Rooms are very comfortable and good value for Dublin. Executive rooms give access to a small lounge with snacks and drinks which is excellent. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Asked for a quiet room and that’s just what I got

Cons: Very expensive for basic facilities. No parking on site, terrible breakfast, tiny no atmosphere Bar on site, roadworks all around the Hotel,

Pros: The room was lovely-comfortable bed and decor was stunning.
Cons: The staff were only ok I felt. There was a young waiter in the bar who was either new to the job or had no clue what he was doing. He walked past our table several times without asking us did we want menus/drinks. We had to ask for everything including knives and forks. Service was a little poor.
8.0 Excellent
Pros:
Cons: We signed up for the executive floor and I don’t think the value was there for the money paid. It was essentially a hotel size room with some very basic pre-packaged snacks and drinks. I would save the money and use it getting your own snacks!

Pros: Reception area lovely and welcoming Spacious room but most of all big comfortable beds
Cons: Did not find any thing to dislike

6.5 Good
Pros: The common areas very clean, cozy and updated. The staff very accommodating with extremely early check in. Great areas to relax. The room we stayed in was very small and had not been upgraded. Not a room they would picture on website.
Cons:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Size of room was spacious as we were 4 adults. Bathroom spotless. Facilities in room and hotel really good. Staff exceptional. Area is a bit run down as it is in quite a lot of big cities but I wouldn't be put off booked hotel not area.
Cons: Nothing all good. Yes there are building works but lucky for us they didn't work at weekend.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Breakfast was very expensive
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely atmosphere in lobby, v atmospheric lighting and lovely smells.
Cons: It was a bit cold when we were eating in the evening but door was open and it was closed promptly when we mentioned it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and restaurant next door was great. Had a brilliant stay.
Cons: Our only comment would be that the double bed was a small double.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: right on bus line to/from airport, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was great selection and service, location was also good for walking to attractions and restaurants, bar was a fun walk back into time with a intimate beer garden.
Cons: bathroom had black bold, shower head or water pressure needed some work.

Pros: Across the street from the hop on off bus
Cons: No face clothes. Just didn't feel special. We just existed. No real tours..we stayed in 6 hotels while on vacation. One of the first questions we ask is "what tours do you recommend?" "do you have a company you work with?"
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was good, airlink & hop on hop off stop just outside, Temple bar only 10 minute walk away, food was excellent, breakfast & lunch & evening menu, concierge was helpful, luxurious / boutique feel downstairs but not in the rooms, 12pm check out & breakfast till 11am at weekends was good.
Cons: Bathroom was dirty, lighting was poor in the rooms, shower was rubbish, reception was slow, messed up our key cards & we had to go back to a massive queue to get them authorised & reception thought it was funny but it was a waste of our time. Tea / coffee in rooms poor, rooms not 4 star, dirty windows, building work being done so noisy, the lift is so slow!

Pros: Staff was fantastic. Locations was very convenient.
Cons: One of rooms did not have air conditioning and was a little warm. Otherwise an excellent experience.

Its a quirky hotel, with lovely, unusual decor and it's ideally situated in the heart of the city! They also offer valet parking so you can just drop the car off when you arrive and you don't need to worry about finding the carpark :)
Cons: There was work being carried out in the main lobby of the hotel (dust sheets and drills) - and there were a number of issues with my room (Georgian suite) relating to main lights not working and issues with the bathroom - but the staff were responsive and immediately moved me to another room. I know its not typical of the hotel to have such issues, so even though this review isn't exactly positive, it won't stop me from staying again... I just hope that I have a better experience next time which is more in keeping with my past stays.

Pros: The location for us was excellent. Restaurant was just okay and not very well staffed. The bar was better staffed. Even though our room was on the busy street side we had very little noise.
Cons: The rooms are smaller than what we thought. Our stay was extended and would have liked a bit more storage, but the location made that
7.0 Good
Pros: Location perfect and very clean. Staff were exceptionally good and obliging especially the doormen who were really helpful and recommended Howth as a day trip which was all they said and was brilliant.
Cons: Breakfast expensive, the hot buffet at breakfast could have been better, no choice of cooked eggs, just scrambled and bacon dry. The rooms were a little on the small side as was the wardrobe space

I also got stuck and they helped me down the ladder. Food was brilliant. The people I met were lovely and very helpful - there was a good mix of ages in the dorm.
Cons: I was put on a high bed and I have a knee problem - which was completely my own fault as I forgot to make them aware but the staff had to come and help me down. The ladders are narrower than pictured so just keep that in mind.

Pros: I liked that it was very close to the business area, and you could walk to Temple Bar, within 15 minutes. The hotel staff is very kind.
Cons: It was a little bit old fashion for a tech district. My room had a bathroom for disabled people and it was a little bit uncomfortable. Not sure if it was because of the room availability.
Don´t call a taxi from the hotel, it takes forever. We waited for 30 min and ended up booking a MyTaxi last minute, since we were going to be late and we had no clue on how longer we had to wait.

4.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel rooms were very nice and clean. The leisure center and staff were wonderful. Location is good for a walk around the city.
Cons: Hotel staff wasn't overly helpful. No parking on site (no valet either). I asked for someone to help bring in bags and they never sent anyone out. Each time we ordered room service they got part of our order wrong and it was like pulling teeth to get them to fix something simple. Not a very customer centric environment. I don't think I'd stay there again.
6.0 Good
Pros:
Cons: TV didn’t work, remote control not there on first night and key cards failed each time we wanted to enter the room, think it was the lock itself as showed green light but didn’t allow access. For the price we paid, I would have expected better and this was a premium room as apparently we were upgraded for free at the beginning.

Cons: Staff - Receptionist was not welcoming Waiter / Bar staff - Very poor / poor English / not accommodating / tables in bar all dirty and uncleaned / mixed up and forgot some of our drinks order No bar food available after 8.00pm on a Friday evening ??? Resident bar closed at 1.15am ??

6.4 Good
Pros: very modern and plenty of comfortable seating areas all over the hotel
Cons: building work around the hotel but it did not spoil our stay
6.0 Good
Pros: Its convience.
Cons: One reception staff, even though he was very helpful and polite was wearing heavy jewelry, a dirty friendship bracelet and shirt collar buttons not closed, he just did not look the part, not professional looking, I wondered what did visitors to our country think of it. Also no Irish whole meal soda bread at breakfast only bakery yeast bread, (not the same thing) Tinned fruit was so disappointing with so much fresh fruit available, yes there was a bowl of whole fresh fruit, but some chopped up would be so much nicer. Also, suggestion, Clonakilty black & white puddings are the best, you should try them.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bar was welcoming, the staff were very informative and a nice atmosphere in the hotel

Pros: well situated in dublin; walking distance to restaurants.
Cons: tha maldron is more expensive than its amenities suggest. the room I was booked in was small & had no view (the window literally opened onto a tiny concrete plot. they did not provide washcloths & the shower is weirdly designed (you have to step fully inside to turn it on, and with the fixed head, this means you're going to get blasted with cold water to start your morning). if this is a business trip & you just need a place to sleep, it's perfectly fine, but if you want to spend the same value for a plush hotel room with some space and a view of at least a city street, i'd recommend someplace else.

Convenient Location, a block from the bus station was the best. From there I could drop my bags and hit the shops and sights, which started just one block away - Perfect!
They have a sauna, pool table, library and other lounge in the basement. It wasn't well advertised, as everyone seemed to be on the main floor.

Pros: Good location and comfortable beds
Cons: Limited power points to charge phones
Staff weren’t all that approachable (with the exception of a few)
Have to put for luggage storage
No lockers secure lockers provided in room
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Super Friendly & Helpful Staff - Plus the front desk person remembered my name the Next Day. What a great way to feel valued as a guest, well done!
Convenient Location, a block from the bus station was the best. From there I could drop my bags and hit the shops and sights, which started just one block away - Perfect!
They have a sauna, pool table, library and other lounge in the basement. It wasn't well advertised, as everyone seemed to be on the main floor.
Great security - Key cards for every floor and room.
Cons: Wi-Fi not available in all rooms, so they recommend all guests go to lobby to use wi-fi, which does bring a community feel, but still inconvenient not having it in all rooms.
Breakfast could start a little earlier for travelers who have early morning flights or plans.
Nightly movie advertised, but not available
Sauna available for only 3 hours, 1 for females only, 1 coed, 1 for males only. It was a little uncomfortable having just one naked old man in the sauna when I arrived, so I turned around and left.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The organization, staff, willingness to help, cleanliness, excellent
Cons:
7.0 Good
Pros: The hostel was everything it claimed to be. Can’t argue the value for money
Cons: Felt abit like a half way house, a lot of drunk older people all the time asking for cigarettes

Pros: The location in good, very central and close to restaurants and shops.
Cons: I travel a lot for work, but this is probably my worst pick in 10 years. This is definitely not value for money. The hotel is very worn down, windows have single glass, the walls are very thin meaning you can hear your neighbours talk, and my room had the smell of cigarette smoke. Also, there is no breakfast offered. There was also no hot water in the morning. For this price there are probably better options.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, rooms with high ceilings
Cons:
4.6 Okay
Pros: The photos on the internet!
Cons: The actual property we were given. Druggies shooting up outside the apartment entrance and shoplifters running off with stolen goods. Fire not installed. Filthy bathroom from circa 1982. Wallpaper not stuck to walls. Storage heaters from yesteryear. Kitchen with a tap that wouldn’t turn off. A chair I almost fell off because it wasn’t assembled correctly. Uninstalled fireplace suite. Foul smell of neglect in apartment. The only new thing in there was the sofa, it was amongst Dublin residents’ accommodation and to top it off for the birthday balloons I requested for my son they asked for an additional third of the price of the accomodation! We found Jury’s inn could have us for €14 more with four beds! The woman on the desk could tell we hasn’t said anything she could defend. I was extremely disappointed and the area is horrendous the residents must be on drugs themselves there is a rehab opposite! I have enclosed a photo of the bedroom smoke alarm and wallpaper to back up my statement.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Best Wifi i had the entire 2 week trip even better then the bigger 4 star hotels
Cons: the noise from outside - no air condition so left the window open but being on the first floor in front it was loud as hell - but it was deal with loud traffic people walking and crazy loud seagulls or close the window and sweat too much so window open it was

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Room was clean. Room was slightly larger than expected which was good. Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating. This hotel met all our needs.
Cons: A minor thing was there was no elevator but we managed. The shower was small and hard to get in and out and hard to move yourself around. The bed could be a little more comfortable. We felt all the springs.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the location was great.
Cons: There wasn't a clear way to check out - I came down at 10 am, and there was no staff member at the desk. I stood waiting there for 10 minutes, not wanting to just leave the key. It would have been nice to have a way to leave the key (a lockbox?)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great for catching bus to airport.
Cons: Some dodgy characters about, and very noisy street.
6.0 Good
Pros: They used actual keys and had free bottled water
Cons: There was no lobby just a front desk The shower was very small and the water was nearly passable for warm
