Really busy spot but the rooms are lovely and it's a great price for the centre of Dublin. We stayed in the Shelbourne the following night and I seriously would have preferred the Holiday Inn, at least it's modern and they don't charge you an arm and a leg for the food and drink!

The staff at front of house are fantastic and nothing is too much of an ask. Once I put my bags into the room I went to the bar to get a drink & the lovely young gentleman working at the time, who’s name I forgot to take, kindly carried my drinks to my room. Later that evening we decided to stay and drink in the hotel which I was so glad off. The atmosphere and feel of the place was unreal. A special mention to the barman, Matt, who looked after us the entire duration of our stay. For someone who’s been in the hospitality sector for many years now it’s really refreshing to see someone who knows what their at and enjoys it too. Overall the Gibson never fails for me. You certainly pay for what you get & I honestly cannot fault anything. Cannot wait to return later this year sometime.

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the area. Close to the airport, but not exactly the safest place to be during late day/early evening (as told to me by a policeman when I had gotten a bit lost returning to my hotel from downtown and was checking to see if I was heading in the correct direction).
Plus, the distance from downtown is a bit of a stretch if you don't have a car. However, the LUAS (tram system) is right outside the door, so that was partly my fault as I had not reviewed the transportation system prior to my trip.

Pros: Couldn't fault this hotel. Stayed for three nights. Room good size, very clean and quiet. Bed, pillows wonderful. Bathroom clean and adequate. The security is extremely good, you use your key to access corridors, lifts and toilets. All staff very friendly and helpful. Bar welcoming and food very good. This hotel is in an ideal location, very central and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros: Location was great. Despite the construction things were quiet but it was just a few minutes walk to all the key areas of city-center Dublin. The staff were courteous and very helpful in setting up a prompt can for an early morning flight.
Cons: As may be expected in a chain hotel in a big city the staff were not local and did not have a lot of first had recommendations for places to eat or estimated times it would take to walk places.

Cons: The only downside was we had to print our boarding passes for our flight home but when I asked the man on the reception desk could the hotel do it , he said if I sent them the email they would print them . I did not have an email , it was on the Ryanair App . We had to go to a near by Internet cafe and printers to do it . Two years ago we stayed at the nearby Cassidy’s hotel and all they needed was the booking reference number and they did it in a few minutes . Apart from that there were no other issues .

Pros: My husband is disabled and he was treated so nicely and the staff was so accommodating . It was a boys weekend he and my son went on and at the end the ladies came out from behind the desk to give him a proper hug. That was lovely hotel was clean and the location is great.

Pros: Fab location as we took the Aircoach from Belfast which left us off only 5 mins away from the hotel. Plus great location only 15 min walk to grafton street.l for shopping etc. We had a large family which which was warm as it was really cold outside and luckily located at the back so nice and quiet so we had a great nights sleep Good breakfast too.

Cons: Only realised In the morning that the shower head was broken. So u had to actually hold the shower attachment to shower yourself. I’ve never had to do that in any other hotel. Went to dry my hair but the hairdryer was broken. Went to ring reception but the phone was broken in the room so had to actually walk down to reception with wet hair to report the faults and get a hairdryer. Very disappointing for a 4 star hotel these things should be checked especially by the housekeeping staff they should have noticed the shower especially if they had cleaned the bathroom that morning before we checked in and I was also told that ours was one of the better rooms. Room needed dusted too. So I wonder if any of the other less good rooms had as many faults? Just told sorry by the reception staff and that they would fix the problems for the next guests but sadly not much good for us as we had only booked for one night.

But with the price you can't exactly expect luxury.

Cons: Bedrooms although clean and warm look a little tired could do with some tender loving care, this was not a real issue for me or any of the family, my experience in the hotel was marred by one unpleasant encounter with a young member of the bar staff, some customer service training recommended. I want to thank the Manager for his intervention and professionalism on this matter.

Cons: The rooms are rather small and there is a lot of mechanical noise from equipment in the alley behind and next to the building. The walls are very thin so you hear a lot from the adjoining rooms, particularly when someone has come back late from the pubs and is rather boisterous.

Pros: Lovely hostel in a perfect location, Dublin Coach bus stop coming from Southwest into Dublin is literally almost in front of the entrance door of Abbey Court Hostel. The staff is very warm and welcoming and cheerful and there's a wonderful kitchen and sitting area. Beds are very comfortable. If you fancy a pizza for supper (as I did on arrival in Dublin) - you have Apache Pizza right next door and on the other side of the hostel is O'Connell pub where you can finish the evening with a great, creamy pint of Guinness (or in my case the lady's version of it with a dash of black currant syrup on top)

Pros: I always enjoy my stay at Abbey Court Hostel. Staff is the best. Always willing to give a helping hand. Not only at reception, but also in the kitchen, etc.

Cons: I am glad that I switched the little bedside light on before I went to bed as my pillow was covered with dirt. I can't say this is the hostels fault, the guest of the top bed may have caused this without being aware of it. Anyway, I just turned the pillow upside down and the bed was very comfy and warm enough which is good during nasty winter days. Also the bathroom needed attention where cleanliness is concerned.

Cons: I hope they can make bed more comfy. Room so noisy. Room so small, you can barely open your luggage inside the room

Cons: Shouldn't have put us in with two people with complained about the noise, didn't get are deposit back due to noise but no damage to the room. Made sure we cleaned up properly and still wasn't good enough. Was my hen party!
