Pros: 1st they are SO ACCOMODATING. Thanks to guest services, concierge DENNIS :-0 and the crew plus the front door attendants, managers, housekeeping are all amazing. Guest Service Rep came to greet us and had the goats milk avail for my daughter. In the USA we can only purchase at select store and did not realize it was more common to have in Dublin. We have made Dublin-the Shelbourne as our #1 headquarters. The quality of our stay, the fact they have vetted services for a nanny, great food, amazing polite service from all departments simply speaks volumes. Mr. Hanley and his staff at this fine establishment continue to amaze me. I really appreciate the peace of mind they bring to me and my little 1 and 2 year old children each visit. We surely feel special and love the amazing spacious rooms. THANK YOU ALL!! See you again next year.

Cons: When I arrived at 10AM, there was no room ready (understandable), but when I returned in the afternoon, I was shown to a room with a worker working on scaffolding directly outside my window. The second room was fine, but I was disappointed that the clerk had initially no problem assuming he could leave us in a room where we could all wave to a worker!

Pros: The experience overall was great. Exactly what I wanted: great location, clean and good value. That is exactly what I found here. I would recommend and stay there again!
Cons: The room was extremely small and the TV was dated but that being said I wasn't in Dublin to stay in my room. Therefore, it worked for me perfectly. One thing to take note is that the walls are very thin, I had to block my ears during the night since I could hear the noise from the street and the hotel neighbours when they came in.

Pros: Location was good, airlink & hop on hop off stop just outside, Temple bar only 10 minute walk away, food was excellent, breakfast & lunch & evening menu, concierge was helpful, luxurious / boutique feel downstairs but not in the rooms, 12pm check out & breakfast till 11am at weekends was good.
Cons: Bathroom was dirty, lighting was poor in the rooms, shower was rubbish, reception was slow, messed up our key cards & we had to go back to a massive queue to get them authorised & reception thought it was funny but it was a waste of our time. Tea / coffee in rooms poor, rooms not 4 star, dirty windows, building work being done so noisy, the lift is so slow!

Cons: Garish, uncomfortable rooms located directly over a firestation where a fire engine runs 24/7. On a busy weekend, sirens go off regularly, pigeons fly in the window if you ppem it and the staff are harried.

Pros: We stayed in one of the Georgian sweets which unfortunately didn't have an elevator but the concierge was amazing, from bringing out bags up to valeting the car to calling a cab for us to go enjoy the city. Beautiful room very comfortable bed and huge bathroom.
Cons: The only negative I would say was the service in the bar. We stopped in upon arrival to grab a quick bite to eat which did not end up being quick. It seemed like the staff was more interested in talking to eachother than helping us, and when I finally flagged the bartender down he asked us if we were in a hurry, not the kind of service you would expect from a hotel of this status. On the up side the food and drinks were great and we just opted for room service for dinner.

Pros: Location was great--close enough to walk to Temple Bar, Trinity College and many other points of interest. Staff was very helpful--upgraded our room without any trouble when we expressed our disappointment in our "superior" room. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful and the one dinner we had there was very good.

Cons: tha maldron is more expensive than its amenities suggest. the room I was booked in was small & had no view (the window literally opened onto a tiny concrete plot. they did not provide washcloths & the shower is weirdly designed (you have to step fully inside to turn it on, and with the fixed head, this means you're going to get blasted with cold water to start your morning). if this is a business trip & you just need a place to sleep, it's perfectly fine, but if you want to spend the same value for a plush hotel room with some space and a view of at least a city street, i'd recommend someplace else.

Leak from upstairs unit ... causing flooding in our bathroom ... water coming in through light fixture late at night. Totally irresponsible tenant in the unit above. Pros: The location on Merrian Square was outstanding. They provided everything that we needed for a 3-year old and a 1-year old, including the right beds. Check-in was fast. Breakfast was great, and the staff helped throughout our stay, which included two stays, broken by a week of traveling outside of Dublin.
Cons: While the hotel may be a bit older in some regards than others, we were pleased with nearly all aspects of our stay. They do lack a concierge desk and bellhops ever ready to assist with luggage and taxis. However, the front desk always found help with our luggage and arranged our taxis without any problem . If you're looking for the best in hotels, the Davenport may lack a bit, but, we found it to be quite a good hotel and well worth booking.

Cons: Rooms and beds are very small. Our room was very hot with no thermostat (even though it was cool outside). Shower was tiny. If you check in after 10:00pm, you have to wait for the night porter to check you in.

There is a loading zone right in front on the street so that you can unload your car before returning your rental. You would not be advised to use a car for sightseeing in Dublin. The rooms are average size for Europe, clean and quiet. Front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. A cab to the airport costs about 25 EUR from here. There is no easy bus/train access to the airport from this location. There are good restaurants and pubs as well as a Centra and a SPAR within walking distance.

Pros: Kildare street hotel was a nice find if you don't mind sharing a bathroom. (Although not all rooms have to share bathrooms). Great value for the room we were given. Booked it while riding on the shuttle bus from the airport to city center. Just a few blocks from the bus drop off.
Rooms had nice decor. Free bottled water, treats & slippers. Staff was polite. Overall pleased with our stay.

Pros: Kildare street hotel was a nice find if you don't mind sharing a bathroom. (Although not all rooms have to share bathrooms). Great value for the room we were given. Booked it while riding on the shuttle bus from the airport to city center. Just a few blocks from the bus drop off.
Rooms had nice decor. Free bottled water, treats & slippers. Staff was polite. Overall pleased with our stay.
