Cons: The concierge staff, while very responsive and helpful in advance of the trip, dropped the ball in following thru on all reservations and we missed out on a day trip to the Rosario Islands. The mishap was apparently due to a miscommunication with a former hotel employee. The hotel ended up treating us to a very nice city tour, but we were disappointed to have missed out on the island excursion. This was avoidable (hotel staff confirmed the itinerary just days before the trip); however, things worked out relatively satisfactorily in the end, and the hotel staff was very apologetic.

The room was spacious and spotless, we had a street view queen bedroom with an amazing double-shower head. The rooftop pool area is AMAZING - best views in Cartagena looking out over the harbor. Complimentary breakfast every morning was restaurant quality, made to order and fresh... I could not recommend this hotel highly enough for anyone visiting the city. We did extensive research before we landed on Movich and it made the trip.

You have all the amenities you could want from a top grade hotel, paired with a friendly/warm staff who make it feel more like a boutique hotel. The restaurant on the first floor (Harry Sasson) was also great. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Cartagena!

Pros: We loved our stay at the HCST! Everything was absolutely perfect :-) The hotel itself is beautiful and located in a lively, yet not overwhelming square in the Centro district. The square even has a little bar on the city wall where you can have a drink and watch the sunset. We loved that the hotel had a great restaurant inside the courtyard and a more casual option out in the square. The food at both options were amazing. Also, they had a lovely, guest-only rooftop pool with spectacular views. We opted to eat our breakfasts up there because it was so pretty!! The staff was super attentive, and I suggest taking advantage of their concierge service. We were able to get reservations at some excellent restaurants, and we took advantage of one of their hotel experiences (rum tasting), which was so much fun! Finally, the room was super comfortable and we had booked a room with a balcony, which I recommend. We had a little seating area and a hammock overlooking the inner courtyard. It was nice to sit out there and take a late afternoon break after a full morning of sightseeing. I can't say enough great things about this hotel.

Cons: I didn´t like that I was charged the full amount of my stay in advance yet when I asked to get my receipt, they said they will only give it to me at the end of my stay. I had to leave 1 night earlier and was still charged (I understood the terms and conditions), but not even 1 breakfast was given to me as a complimentary meal. Also, some additional charges were added to my bill, which I was then told I was able to delete if I didn´t want to pay them, but had I not asked what each item on the bill was, I would have never found out. That is not cool!

Cons: I paid for the junior suite which was very expensive so I expected a little more from it. The room had no desk forcing me to work on the floor or go upstairs where it was scorching hot. The room had only two very tiny windows making it feel almost like a basement. It was VERY dark during the day and even with all the lights on I found it very hard to see.

The Lobby is poor with mildew and mold odor, I was in the 16 floor, the corridor stinks, there is a permanent smell of burnt frying oil, of fried fish, fried eggs at any given minute of the day. The same bad smell hits you when you go to eat breakfast. If you have allergies or have a bronchial issues you will get sick from this air quality. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone no ever go back there

Elevators are not enough for the amount of people staying there. You have to wait several minutes. I found the image to be too photoshopped - bathroom wasn't as modern and you could hear the next door bathroom and people showering and actually singing in there. The entrance is not as clean and organized. Street vendors would show up by the side at times. The AC in the room wasn't working properly at the beginning of the stay. The humidity overall inside the room was too strong. WiFi was not very reliable.

Pros: I will start with the moment we walked into the lovely, mother-of-pearl solitude of Allure Chocolat, where we were greeted by the very friendly and accommodating staff. My daughter and I enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar immensely, as well as the delicious breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the hustle and bustle of beautiful Getsemani of Cartagena coming to life. Where greater Cartagena is a vibrant seashell of sight and smell and sound, the retreat into Allure Chocolat is a gentle escape into the inner quiet of that shell, a sweet respite.

Cons: In general everything was as expected. The only thing was the only have two elevators and is a 14 floor building so in the weekends the elevator gets packed and busy... but we would stay there again.

Everything is super modern and clean. The hotel isn’t far from the walled city. About 5 minutes in taxi. My husband even walked to the hotel from there. I stayed with my husband and one year old. We all loved it. Including the baby. You can see the beach from hallways as well and the staff is very nice and helpful and professional . I would definitely stay again. We stayed 3 nights. Also every time I asked for new towels they cAme right away

Cons: The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The mattress is only 4 inches thick and the pillow was very hard. I woke up with a sore neck. Not recommended for a long stay.
The parking situation is also a little weird. You take your car to the parking garage on an elevator (that’s fine). But then you have to come down on the same elevator, on foot with your suitcases through a back door into the reception to take the elevator to your floor. The back way was in parts tight due to pallets maybe being stored in the hall. Also through that hall is the back entrance to unfinished business offices. It was just a little bazaar.

Cons: At the end of the stay they wanted the wristbands returned. We were not told before hand, and wanted to charge extra for not having them at checkout.

Pros: It the best bang for the buck so far. Food was good. 2 pools. Great location. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower has no complete division, or it's half finished. Garage smells like trash. Hallway to our room had leaks on ceiling, probably from the AC. In general, it's not well taken care of, needs renewal.
