Cons: My only criticism is the arm-band rule that this and some other hotels around Colombia are enforcing. On check-in they make you wear an arm band to identify that you're a hotel guest. Forget bringing a date back to your room guys, unless you're prepared to put them on the room register.

Cons: the hotel cannot be considered as a luxury 5 stars hotel. It is an good hotel for family too many people but if you are looking for privacy as 5 stars luxury hotels should provide, this in not the hotel. The hotel staff has to be trained more they don't have sense of urgency: they booked two restaurants outside the hotel but we had problems when we arrived in the restaurant the reservation was made by the hotel... Further we encountered the problem that the sink and the shower in our room it was not working properly so after so many complains the staff moved us in another nice room.

I am travelling with a friend native indian and at the door they kept asking where we were going (i could see that they were not asking others in that way and did not ask me the day before when i went on my own just to have a look). I thought it was all snobish and racist. The room was smaller than average I have seen in Colombia.

The pool is big and has a whirlpool and is located on top of the building. There is sun shine till sunset. There is a pool bar where you can order drinks and food. The cocktails come with beautiful decorations and the food is delicious! Our room was beautiful, very spacious and clean. The only bad point about the room: everything felt a bit humid (bed sheets and towels). Somehow we weren‘t able to reduce the humidity in the room. The breakfast is just amazing! Great selection of whatever your heart desires. On our last day we had to leave at 06:30am, so we forced ourselves to get up really early to just NOT skip breakfast.

Cons: The concierge staff, while very responsive and helpful in advance of the trip, dropped the ball in following thru on all reservations and we missed out on a day trip to the Rosario Islands. The mishap was apparently due to a miscommunication with a former hotel employee. The hotel ended up treating us to a very nice city tour, but we were disappointed to have missed out on the island excursion. This was avoidable (hotel staff confirmed the itinerary just days before the trip); however, things worked out relatively satisfactorily in the end, and the hotel staff was very apologetic.

The staff did not communicate the status of the issue to us and seemed to treat the situation more as the norm versus an emergency. They told us we were going to be called when our water came on, it never did. We stayed up until 2:00 am waiting for a call. We felt very disrespected.

Cons: Attention to some details in regards to general organisation of our room was lacking for a 5 star hotel. Eg. They didn't top us up with water bottles after cleaning even though we had been told that we would get complimentary water each day. Not all shampoos etc were replenished. The room keys also stopped working all the time even when we didn't leave them next to out phones.

Cons: Shower does not have any pressure, making it difficult to take a bath. Also, water temperature is either maximum hot or cold (not possible to choose anything in the middle). The room was not properly cleaned, either upon arrival or afterwards (we stayed 3 nights). The bathroom have a window without glass, allowing all the mosquitos to enter the room and bite us. Also, there was always a lot of noise, either music or construction noises in the morning.

Cons: The standard room doesn’t have windows, only entrance door with glass, but you cannot open it, because otherwise you will be visible outside. So, the room was very dark, which is strange when you stay in sunny Cartagena. And also absolutely no fresh air in the room, you feel like in sauna, only A/C can help, but its very big and you immediately feel cold. In the bath it was no hair dryer at the beginning, and floor not so clean. The hotel facilities and interior is really nice, but the room absolutely not on the same level. Also bed mattress is too soft. At the breakfast they don’t offer water. I asked the water to take my medicine and they charged it and the check out.

Cons: We had breakfast at the hotel every morning and it could have been much better. We also had lunch and it was lacking in quality. Most of the staff is not very competent. It took us an hour to check in and they requested our passport three times. It took us 20 minutes to check out because they incorrectly charged us for mini bar items. If Rey were in charge, I imagine things would run much more smoothly.

The Lobby is poor with mildew and mold odor, I was in the 16 floor, the corridor stinks, there is a permanent smell of burnt frying oil, of fried fish, fried eggs at any given minute of the day. The same bad smell hits you when you go to eat breakfast. If you have allergies or have a bronchial issues you will get sick from this air quality. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone no ever go back there

Just paid 20 pesos for a cab ride to airport. The bathroom was dirty and they didn’t come in to change the towels or empty the trash. Wouldn’t recommend this place for the price.

Pros: We were travelling as a group and had to rooms and we had a completely different experience. One side found the staff helpful and willing to accommodate while the other side was sometimes ignored. One room was great (although they are not very big, specially with a baby) clan and everything worked. While the other one got a room where the bathroom door was missing a handle and a lot of the lights were not working, only after various complains and requests they were changed to another room.

Pros: The hotel is in a great location. Not to far from the walled city with good restaurants in walking distance and a great steakhouse on property. It is safe to walk to and from the hotel at all hours. We walked home from the walled city after 3am most nights and it was totally safe. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pool has an incredible view.

Cons: Whilst staff were largely friendly and helpful, they failed on some occasions to give us their full attention (talking to other staff members, continuing with other tasks without acknowledging us etc). Breakfast was also good quality and the selection varied very day, however it was slow to be replenished once empty. Finally, we only received the turn down service on our final night (1 of 5) which we just found strangely inconsistent?!

Cons: At the time of the check in we were told that something is wrong with our stamp. As you know (or don’t know yet) in Colombia tourists don’t need to pay taxes in the hotel. All stay we were worried a bit about this issue which finally on the check out had resolved into our benefit, but it added some degree of uncertainty and undertreatment to all stay.

Cons: It has potential to be a nice hotel but they limit the Air Conditioning thermostat with a governor. Ridiculous. This is Cartegena. The humidity is too awful in the middle so if the day for that nonsense, Hilton. I paid to be comfortable and all I did was sweat in your hotel. The housekeeping staff needs to actually clean the room. This is a beach resort hotel. Good grief. I rate this place fair to poor. The staff in the lobby is lazy. The concierge down on level one was always helpful. Thanks Javier!

Cons: There were hairs in the shower when we arrived and bad coffee, which is sad for Colombia; abd the Juan Valdez option that they provide in the room is decaf. Also, the beach that is in front is unbearable, all those street vendors harassing you, especially when you're with someone who looks foreign. We had to pay to go to one of the islands to get some rest and peace. Next time we will aim for a hotel with a private beach.

Everything is super modern and clean. The hotel isn’t far from the walled city. About 5 minutes in taxi. My husband even walked to the hotel from there. I stayed with my husband and one year old. We all loved it. Including the baby. You can see the beach from hallways as well and the staff is very nice and helpful and professional . I would definitely stay again. We stayed 3 nights. Also every time I asked for new towels they cAme right away

Everything is super modern and clean. The hotel isn’t far from the walled city. About 5 minutes in taxi. My husband even walked to the hotel from there. I stayed with my husband and one year old. We all loved it. Including the baby. You can see the beach from hallways as well and the staff is very nice and helpful and professional . I would definitely stay again. We stayed 3 nights. Also every time I asked for new towels they cAme right away

Cons: The bathtub/shower was quite basic and not covered with tiles (but with cement), so it did not feel very hygienic. The sound isolation of the rooms is really bad (the door is extremely thin), so you can hear everyone from the corridor as if they were in the room. The staff was ok (polite but not overly polite). Most of them do not speak english. The breakfast was ok (nothing exceptional). The laundry service is too expensive. I don't know if it was overpriced because it was around New Year's eve but the price-to-value ratio was not satisfactory (we were offered much more for lower/similar price elsewhere (at least in Bogotta)).

Very clean throughout the whole hotel, not just our room. Not a huge bedroom or bathroom but perfectly adequate for a few days stay. We didn't have a balcony but there is a lovely rooftop terrace with a pool. No actual bar there but you are welcome to take drinks /food up there from the small hotel bar on the ground floor. A brilliant place to view the busy square below and the marina & buildings of Bocagrande. Comfy bed and good AC. We didn't chose to have breakfast with the room rate when we initially booked but we saw that there was a decent buffet style breakfast so decided to pay the extra. This set us up for the day. There was an extensive lunch & dinner menu but we didn't actually have a meal there.

Cons: The staff: most of them were not really friendly or helpful at all. They charged my credit card for my room and my friend’s even though I had asked them not toi upon check in! We had both offered to give our credit cards and the guy working at checking turned us down and said we would pay separately upon check out. i had to ask three different people to book a table at a restaurant. They only did it after I insisted. Weird. They were also helpless when I asked them to book a tour for Islas de Rosario. The only efficient staff members were two girls, one working at the restaurant, she was so nice and professional and one working at the reception. She picked up her phone and called.
