We had dinner at Sazanka on a lactose- and soy-free diet and the dishes were still so good that I didn’t feel like I missed out. Baby was able to eat too. Cons: Rooms are ok, not 5 star though. Only 1 of the restaurants had availability during our stay, which was a large selling point for the hotel. Service was the major disappointment. When you book a 5star hotel, you would expect a certain level of service. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room but no milk provided. The tea bags were not topped up the next day. At this point we called down to ask for milk and an extra 2 tea bags, they suggested a minimum charge would be incurred at €6. They eventually said there would be no charge, but should guests really need to ask for milk and tea bags to be topped up?

Cons: Empty water bottles were not taken away despite us requesting it to be removed from our room. Walls were thin so we can here some yelling from another room while we were trying to sleep. We had to call front desk about it because baby might wake up. They were apologetic and promised to check up on it immediately.

Cons: There was a renovation on the 4th floor in progress.. I understand, but they shouldn't charge you the same price. It's disturbing. Also the housekeeping is very noisy. The sheets were never changed during 4 night stay. At check out found out that it should be requested, how was I supposed to know? Never heard about it even in 4* hotels, unless there is a note beside the bed. But in this case there wasn't. The room very basic, as well as the amenities. Bed quite hard and the pillows old and not comfortable.

I also was unable to make my first night due to a change in our flight that was beyond my control and although I called more than 24 hours before arrival they would not refund my first night stay. I would not suggest pre paying. I have worked in hotels so I know there are always ways staff can make it up to you - free breakfast, bottles of wine, discounts on future stays etc. Nothing was done

Bedroom good however the mini bar very expensive. So we drank and ate out of the hotel as the restaurant prices are quite expensive to. But all in all a very pleasant stay.

Pros: Hotel staff and the breakfast. The hotel is very handy for walking into the interesting parts of town and only a 5 minute walk to both the museums we wished to visit, namely the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. The airport bus stops are almost outside the hotel as well so another bonus.
Cons: Air conditioner was a bit noisy for me and I switched it off at night so I could sleep. Breakfast can become slightly crowded so I recommend arriving early. Porridge and eggs to order available on request. Restaurant staff very friendly and polite, thanks you all.

Pros: Nice hotel I have stayed with this hotel in the past so know it well. It's in a good location for getting about Amsterdam. With good local restaurants and bars in close proximity. Bedroom good however the mini bar very expensive. So we drank and ate out of the hotel as the restaurant prices are quite expensive to. But all in all a very pleasant stay.

Cons: I am lifetime Platinum and stayed three nights (paying cash). The front desk gave me a very small basic room. It was very uncomfortable. There was only one drawer for clothing. The closet was tiny. There was no desk (but they brought up a temporary desk at my request, and apparently a lot of guests request them.). The executive lounge was very crowded and very noisy with literally no place to sit down. This is because no one checks the credentials of visitors, so it seems that half of the guest at the hotel went there every day for breakfast and evening snacks. There was no way to hang laundry to dry in the shower area of the bathroom. The WiFi was awful--kept shutting down.

There was a mini fridge in the room but it was secured as it contained minibar items.I didn't open it for fear I'd be charged for items. Furthermore, I wasn't sure there was any space inside for non-minibar items. I also never received a facecloth during my stay.

Cons: Everything was nice, until check out. The elevator was extremely slow and most of the times I had to take the stairs up to the 5th floor. During check out Guido asked me how was our stay and I told him about the elevator. He replied “ sorry, can I have your credit card?” which it was extremely rude and seemed like he didn’t even care about the problem nor giving us an explaination. I was not expecting such a reply from this hotel, considering we are a company always using NH in all the business trips we do. Moreover when we checked in we left a business card with all the company info for the invoice, at the check out the invoice didn’t even have the company name on, I asked the staff to change it and I was told they couldn’t because the system didn’t allow any change after the payment was submitted, which is not true. Beside this everything was good and Fernanda at the front desk was so nice all the time

She instantly apologized when she realized they had the wrong room but other than this everything was great.

We loved the newly decorated reception, very welcoming and open! Beautiful lights & furniture. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed! We had a balcony with amazing views. And then bathroom was super clean! The staff made an extra special welcome for us to celebrate my boyfriend’s 30th - we felt so welcomed and spoilt!!!

Pros: The building is very interesting and all the corridors (can't say about all the rooms, don't know) and our room are decorated in a special style. The location is excellent: 5-7 minutes from the Sentral Railway Station, metro and tram (6 lines!) stop. So it is possible to go anywhere very quickly and with comfort. It took us 15 minutes to get to Ruks Museum by tram (line 2). All the beautiful places of the old Amsterdam are 10 minutes walk from the hotel. If you wish shopping, you'll find a lot of excellent shops in the same 10 minutes. As for the breakfast, it was good, normal.

Cons: This was probably the worst hostel I've stayed in so far. The staff is very Muslim, which is fine, but they impose their lifestyle on their guests, which makes me think they should be in a different business. My friend got really sick and was shaking in the bathroom. I went to check on him to see if he was okay and if there was anything I could get him. He asked for a piece of toast, which I brought to him. He was sitting in the big bathroom, on a closed toilet and everything just slowly chewing his toast when the owner came in screaming at us. I thought he was joking at first but he was dead furious. The next day my sick friend was kicked out of the hostel and told not to come back. For eating a piece of bread. On a toilet. Besides this incident, the hostel is not kept very clean. It has an overall damp, dirty feeling. The showers and toilets are kind of gross as is the kitchen. Also, by kitchen they mean a microwave and a fridge. There are way better places to stay for the same price in Amsterdam!
