Pros: Cannot say enough about how great our stay was here! We extended our stay by a day we loved it so much. The prices were very reasonable. They checked us in 2 hrs early with zero hassle. All of the room supplies were included. While not exceedingly spacious, everything about the room and hotel oozed modern style. There was interesting literature on the shelves. The beds were clean and comfortable. In the lobby was a hip restaurant with delicious and affordable faire which we frequented almost every day, and at night became a popular bar until 1 am. There were many other places to eat, shop, or stroll past from the Hoxton's central location, but it was far enough removed from the main tourist areas to feel somewhat local. I would recommend this place to anyone except maybe those traveling with children, as I believe they had to "cheat" to fit us into a single room, and we are smaller than your average humans as it was.

Pros: Spectacular experience, I loved the vibe and design of the space. All finishes are high quality and products they give you in the room smell fabulous . Breakfast is also excellent. It’s the small touches like having smooth jazz playing in your room when you walk in, I cannot say more positive things about it.

Pros: Location- fine, breakfast- very good (and very expensive) except for weak and FAVOURED! coffee, staff-fine, although some younger ones relied more on style than action, room- mediocre (old, fatiqued style interior, clogged and malfunctioning sink and shower drains which head to be unblocked after i notified - would not expect it of a decent hotel -, layout of furniture, closet, hangers, etc not logical), sheets and bed very nice... Was woken at 2am by noisy guests in the courtyard, patiently waited for them to quiet down, but in vain as staff/consierge did not intervene. Had to complain and could not sleep anymore... I stayed in the same room 7 night plus this 1 extra night, so 8 total. In summary, i do not feel it was a great experience, did not get a good value, nor a word of apology. Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Cannot earn any Sofitel/Accor points for incidental expenses if using points for free nights. Accor loyalty program needs to be improved so that points do not expire.

Pros: Amazing location and room amenities were great. Comfortable room and beds,
Cons: Two major points: 1) There was a DJ training/workshop that was taking place at the hotel and didn't allow us to sleep. We called the front desk only to be told that the volume will be lowered and that they cannot do anything about it. Very disappointing and unprofessional. It literally did not allow us to sleep after a long flight. 2) We were there during the daylight savings weekend. Visiting from a country that does not even have this, i was surprised that a notice was not placed under our doors or in elevators. Basically you should notify your guests at the very least.

Pros:
Cons: Upon arrival (11pm) I was very disappointed To find out that the restaurant and the bar of the hotel were closed and under construction. In addition to this, the room service menu (and the food ordered subsequently) was a disaster. I was on a very hectic business trip and room service or a hotel restaurant was top priority for me. At no point after my booking was i informed that the restaurant and bar was under construction. The hotel breakfast was very poor and basic and so was the room cleaning service. One day my bed was not made!

Pros: Breakfast is one of the major reasons we chose to stay in Krasnapolsky. This is my 3rd time staying in the hotel and everytime I will stay in this hotel for number of reasons. First the location is very nice. Second, the hotel is very good in terms of hospitality and comfort. The people who work in the hotel from reception to house keeping, are obviously happy to work here and they are showing it by how they treat you. I would like to thank Eline who were great at welcoming us in the hotel. She was very warm, kind and helpful. I already knew this is the way Krasnapolsky team treats the guests but once again my girlfriend who accompanied me understood why I insisted on this hotel. Hope this quality never changes!

Pros: Location was great
Cons: Keys stopped working every day and it takes a very long time to get from the room tothe front desk to get new ones. I also was unable to make my first night due to a change in our flight that was beyond my control and although I called more than 24 hours before arrival they would not refund my first night stay. I would not suggest pre paying. I have worked in hotels so I know there are always ways staff can make it up to you - free breakfast, bottles of wine, discounts on future stays etc. Nothing was done

Pros: Every thing was great, the staff, location, concierge, food, etc
Cons: No sound isolation between rooms also noise coming from outside through the window
4.0 Okay
Pros: the location and the lobby are excellent.
Cons: the room was tiny. the TV did not work. The room was in a modern wing and there was nothing mentioned about that on the website when we booked. I expected to be in the old building and this was really disappointing. Additionally, we came to ask if we could dine in the White Room but were turned away as allegedly there were all tables booked. Later in the evening we passed by the restaurant several times and there were tables empty. We'd rather be advised to come by in an hour or so rather than a strict NO. We felt we were unwanted

Cons: I originally booked A premium room I got there late so the room is pretty much a closet with a window that look nowhere I upgraded to a better room for €50 a night and it was very good

Pros: Location was great
Cons: For what we paid it’s was small stuffy and very disappointing. I paid less across the road at a NH hotel and would go back there in a heartbeat. This place was a big disappointment.

Pros: Swissôtel Amsterdam is in one of the absolute best locations of any hotel in all of Centraal Amsterdam. A short walk from the major historical sites, bars, restaurants and Centraal Station.
Cons: Not really -- I had a great experience. You might want to take Uber from the train station if you have a lot of heavy luggage to transport. I walked the .5 miles from the station in 15 minutes with my carry-on luggage no problem.

Pros: Perfect location for a tourist. Helpful, pleasant staff. Small but cute single room with an excellent (canal) view.
Cons: Not sure if my expectations were different because I'm American, but I sorely missed having an ice machine, microwave and small fridge for use. There was a mini fridge in the room but it was secured as it contained minibar items.I didn't open it for fear I'd be charged for items. Furthermore, I wasn't sure there was any space inside for non-minibar items. I also never received a facecloth during my stay.

Pros: Cleanliness is superb and room service excellent.everyday room cleans though.
Cons: Have to pull heavy bag on upstairs till reception.after then have lift for going upside floors.Rate is higher against what they provide service. Like 200 euro per night for only room.staff is OK there is no welcoming policy.as they mentioned it's 4 star there is no such a bar like 4* rated hotel.

Cons: I didn't realize the room was two floors with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, not ideal for middle of the night trips to the restroom. There was no handrail on the steep and winding staircase. While housekeeping came everyday, they did not sweep the wood floors which I would have expected. One wall of the bathroom is the wall of the sitting area and is all black glass, which at first seems opaque, but really isn't. When it was just me and my husband in the room, no problem, but when we had visitors, it was a bit awkward.

Pros: I booked this place because I spent the previous night on plane, so I thought I’d splurge at an upscale hotel to ensure I’d get a good night’s sleep.
Our room was four stories down from the nightclub. In spite of that distance, the “oontz oontz” was so loud as to be impossible to sleep through. I was exhausted, so the hour it took to reaccommodate us at the front desk seemed like a week. Definitely not worth the money.

Pros: The room was clean and fairly well equipped, the TV was an excellent size. The bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast choice was good, especially for the juices.
Cons: The room was very small for the price. The price for breakfast was extortionate for the quality and quantity. The "egg" Benedict was served with one egg, on small portion of ham and one muffin.

Cons: I was woken at 1am from a consistent banging noise at 2am I was still awake unable to go back to sleep I recorded the banging it was like air lock in the pipes or something It was very annoying and disturbing for me and my partner who had to be up at 7.30am We did not get the good nights sleep we was expanding from your hotel and feel very let down on this occasion

Pros: Hotel is in a good location and very convenient to all tour location pick-up / drop off. Wide range of restaurants within 5 minute walk.
Cons: Restaurant is very expensive for a quick breakfast and choice of items are great - but nobody can eat so much in one go. There were "silverfish" bugs in the room.

I am now covered in bites from what I have concluded is either bed bugs/flee’s or something of the sort which the thought of having stayed there is now making me uneasy! Amsterdam offers a harmonious blend of history, culture and modernity. Our hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, in a quiet area near the Rembrandtplein. Amsterdam's central train station and the Waterlooplein metro station are just around the corner, enabling you to quickly travel to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the WTC and the RAI. Rent a bike and explore the city, a perfect way to experience the Dutch way of life.
Right in the city center, NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market, formerly known as NH Carlton Amsterdam, is within a short walk to Amsterdam’s main attractions. It overlooks the famous floating Flower Market and is steps away from the Kalverstraat shopping area. You will find Rembrandt Square and other major sites within walking distance as well. Take the tram at Rembrandtplein or Rokin to Amsterdam Centraal train station, giving you easy access to the rest of the city. NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market is set in a traditional Amsterdam building, originally constructed in 1926 for the Olympic Games. The rooms at the hotel are spacious and finished with traditional décor. Each one is soundproof and features new mattresses and hairdryers, satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi. Rooms on the top 3 floors have balconies and overlook the lively Munt Square and Munttoren (Mint Tower). Some connecting rooms are available. A freshly prepared breakfast spread is served daily, including fresh juices and coffees, and Ter Marsch & Co Amsterdam on the ground floor serve burgers daily from 11.00 am. There's also a gym onsite to help you stay in shape.

Pros: Location is great and the room is spacious.
Cons: Our room faced the main busy street, which was great for the view, but terrible for noises. Could hear virtually everything going on outside all night long.

Pros: Very warm and friendly staff, nice room, hotel was quiet, good value.
Cons: We had two beds and they were touching which was kind of weird. The ability to use the fridge without breaking a seal would be nice too. We also couldn't figure out how to turn off one of the lamps without unplugging it.

Pros: The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Staff is also very helpful and would go out of their way to help you.

Everything's close to the hotel: subway, tram, stores, some exhibitions... It was a very nice stay.
Cons: The toilet seat is installed very high. Not comfortable. I'm 1,63cm and my feet barely touched the ground when I was using it. The door peephole was completely out of my sight. It's probably for someone that's 1,80cm. I would have to get on a chair to see through it. Not cool when we are travelling alone (for safety reasons). People on the other rooms were very loud. Not the hotel fault, but the reception could just remind that "this is a hotel, you are not alone" at the time of arrival. (I'm talking about loud noises at 11pm).
1.0 Poor
Pros: nothing.
Cons: The hotel was dirty and run down. It looked nothing like the pics of rooms I saw on the website. My wife and myself were afraid of standing on the floor without shoes on. The beds were in poor shape.

Cons: I do not think if I did not take a cab, it would be easy to walk with huge luggage to the hotel location from the subway. The hotel room carpet was quite stained in some areas, looked a bit dirty. But the bathroom was neat and clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions and making a reservation for us. We enjoyed being close to the museums while still in walking distance (of about 1/2 hour) to other attractions.
Cons: The room (which was upgraded) was just ok. No drawers for clothing. The floor lamp could be turned off only by unplugging it. The safe was somewhat hard to reach, making it harder to ensure that nothing was left behind.

Pros: The room was clean and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: The bed was not very comfortable. At the last floor, where an entire wall is of glass, even if it looks nice, it gets cold during the night. The stuff wasn’t particulary great. They were just ok. The furniture looks old and the free wifi is very slow.

Pros: This was my first trip there, and I loved the Generator almost the most. It had a great atmosphere, and everyone I encountered there was very nice. The cafe is fantastic, and a great place to hang out if you have work to do.
Cons: The rooms WERE a bit small, but for the average traveler/backpacker they are totally sufficient. I happened to have quite a bit of luggage with me (it's what happens when I'm traveling for business), and I felt like a total inconvenience to my roommates (even though they swore I was fine). My ONLY complaint with the experience at Generator is that the shower drain was quite clogged, and the shower stall would be filled with water by the second minute.

Pros: The location was great. It's close to everything so you can walk everywhere. For a couple of nights it's a great spot. You should choose something else if you want to stay longer.
Cons: It's very noisy even with earplugs that they provided you for free in the front desk. The washroom was definitely dirty. I'm also not so sure if the bed sheets were clean, unfortunately I don't think so. In the first 2 nights they didn't have hairdryer for me, I was not prepare for that and I got a cold. I guess they're pretty busy in the weekend, because they also forgot the shampoo and soap. There's a locker service in case you arrive early, they charged u for day or hours, I recommend u to pay by cash with the exact amount in case you don't want to loose money. I hope my comment help them improve their service!

Pros: Location
Cons: We booked a private room with private restroom , the room in general was very shady (walls were disgusting) restroom looked dirty, the shower had like mold in it. The restroom did not look at all like of the ones in the picture when we booked it. WiFi did not work at all during our whole stay. Overall not a good place to stay, you will pay more for what you get.

There are 2 USB plug to charge your devices. There is personalised bed light. There is a housekeeper who will make your bed and change your towel everyday as well as clean the toilet and bathroom. Check in and check out was quick and smooth.
Cons: No elevator, the stairs are very steep and narrow. The lights in the bathroom and toilet are motion triggered. So, it will always light off and light up every 1 minute. Due to its location in the red light district and above the pub, it was very noisy until midnight. The room was spacious. The hand soap container at the bathroom is empty and never refilled.

Pros: Close to everything. Friendly staff.
Cons: Mattress a bit thin. More a hostel though with hotel price.

Pros: The location is perfect for convenience to attractions of Amsterdam and places to eat. Amsterdam overall is so walkable and from this base it is easy to just set out & explore the city. The breakfast was ample and satisfying, plenty to choose from the buffet plus fresh preparations. It is also very close to a grocery store so you can easily get vittles & wine to consume in your room if you need to economize. My room was very small but I didn't need more and it suited my needs perfectly. Luxurious ensuite bathroom and good supply of hot water. Bed & pillows were comfortable & the duvet was cozy (my visit was in December).

Pros: The hotel location in central Amsterdam was excellent. Easy walking distance to everything we wanted to reach. The concierge was very helpful/
Cons: The mattress seemed old and was certainly soft. With a bad back, one of us had to sleep on the floor. Moreover, with housekeeping closed for the night and the blankets used to make the floor tolerable, I had to sleep without a bloanket the first night.
8.2 Excellent
Cons: Rembrandtplein is a touristy neighborhood that attracts a late-night crowd that can be rowdy & raucous well into the wee hours. Good thing that the windows are pretty thick. However the interior walls of the hotel are not so thick and if you have noisy young neighbors (as I did for the first two nights of my four-night stay) you will hear every note of their music. After enduring two nights of their nonsense I asked to be moved. The management was eager to oblige my request, but as it turned out the offenders were checking out that day, so I chose to remain where i was, and all was well after that.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, and breakfast in the hotel was very good.
Cons: It's true that it was sufficient for my needs, but the room really was VERY small. Also: the walls between rooms are thin. My noisy neighbors the first three nights were a drawback.

Pros:
Cons: There was only one person at check in, and a long que. Also, their info about my booking did not match with what I booked. We spent a frustrating full hour and a half to get a room with double bed. Exhausting for one-day get away for my husbands birthday.

Pros: The building itself was lovely, very gothic with a cozy feel. The breakfast was excellent, make sure you get it included in your original price. We kept drinking our mini wines in the double bath tub every night. Great location, across the canal from central station. A great choice for our honeymoon stay.
Cons: Our room was on the first floor, so keeping the windows open at night for a breeze did not work out as the street noise was too loud. Our last night we noticed a small visitor in our room, a mouse, who was persistent and did not want to leave. It was our last night so we just said our goodnight to our guest and slept, it's an old building so I don't think it is an "infestation" but rather something that comes with staying in an old, large building.
6.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a great location by Amsterdam Centraal. It is easy to get to and a great place to explore the city from.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: The room was incredibly stuffy as there was no A/C. We couldn't open the windows at night because the building construction next door started promptly at 7 am and the noise was unbearable with the windows open. Would never had booked here if I knew I would get about 2 hrs of sleep per night. The price was decent but now I know why!

Pros: This hostel has pretty basic beds, bathrooms that suspiciously look like the ones we had in middle school (and we all kn how low-budget middle schools are) and that carpet has probably seen better days. But I still give Hans Brinker Hostel a 10/10 and here's why: -the price is freakin' good: finding a reasonably priced accomodation in Amsterdam has become harder than the Hunger Games, and no one on their right mind would spend 50€ to share a room with a bunch of strangers (unless you're into some kinky sh*t, then, whatever floats your boat). -location is perfectly central: I had everything in walking distance and those 3€ I would have spent on each tram ticket were happily re-invested in more beer/weed/food. -FREE BREAKFAST. When I woke up and headed dosnstairs I was expecting to find like a loaf of bread and maybe some cereal. You know, simple cheap stuff just so they could claim they had free breakfast... God was I wrong. They had croissants, dutch cookies, boiled eggs, various kinds of jams/nutella spread, cheese, ham and even FRESHLY-CUT FRUIT, yogurt and probably more stuff I'm forgetting. Again, since this was the cheapest hostel I could find, I was surprised by the variety of choice. Happy Hour: two beers for the price of one everyday. No need to say more (actually, I want to: your chicken wings seemed delicious and I deeply regret not trying them). Staff: I left this part for last, but it's actually the one that's most important for me. I didn't spend much time in this hostel so I didn't really get to "befriend" anyone over there. But every single interraction I had with a staff member, even if brief, felt genuine and friendly. These people know what they're doing and you can see they like doing it. In conclusion: this hostel may not be the most modern or fancy but it has all you need for a fair price and cool old-school vibe. Definitely reccomend!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the variety of the breakfast, great options.
Cons: The room felt kind of crammed, with 2 of the bunks in the corner with very little space to open luggages out on the floor. The drawer underneath the bed completely took up the space or potential storage under the bed. Felt too cornered (6 bed room). The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked but that may have just been because it wasn't very new.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast and location
Cons: Too uncomfortable. Too many people in small room with 1 toilet. There are only metal beds in the room, no any extra furniture or any desk you can put things on. On the whole floor there wasn’t any toilet or shower extra. You cannot cook here, there isn’t even a frigde. Too much unnecessary security - bracklets on your hand and alarms on the doors that were on everytime you open the doors. They scream at speakers for happy hour. Definitely not suggested, especially for solo travelers. Bad experience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the breakfast. The staff was very professional and friendly. My friends and I are exchange students from America and we felt very comfortable here. The facility was very cute and fun and the location was in an amazing place
Cons: I honestly do not have a critique. This place was very amazing. The breakfast had great hours, the check-in/check-out process was very simple.
7.1 Good
Pros: Happy hour at 5, 3 bed ensuite for $110 was a good deal. Short walk to main tourists attractions.
Cons: Staff was the worst I've encountered during my European trip.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, soft, good shower. Good location, convenient, big yellow HOTEL sign can’t miss it.
Cons: Thin walls

6.2 Good
Pros: that breakfast was free
Cons: the downstairs toilets were so unclean
4.5 Okay
Pros: The staff was really nice and helpful.
Cons: My uncomfortable stay was entirely due to the context of my situation. I just needed a place to crash for a night so that I could pick up a friend from the airport early the next day.
First I got placed in a mixed dorm where I was the only woman. I walked into a room full of shirtless men who all knew each other and didn't expect me. Since I was the only person in the room they didn't know, they all wanted to get to know me, when all I wanted to do was go to sleep.
I asked for my room to be changed, which was possible. I was surprised to find nobody in my new room until a few hours later when I was woken up by another group of people who all knew each other and were surprised to find me sleeping in "their" room. I ended up pretending I was asleep, and they spent hours in disappointment, because they clearly planned to party all night in the room. I felt unwelcome and in the way.
I never had a situation like this before in other hostels, and maybe it was just bad luck. Either way, I don't feel good about booking here again.
