Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

The air New Zealand part was all great plane boarding etc, the horrible part is that we bought baggage allowances with virgin and they never transferred the information to air New Zealand. So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

Cons: "I payed $50.00 USD on a seat so I would have a bigger seat. However, when I got into the plane, the lady that was going to be seating next to me asked me if I could change my seat with her husband; which was a regular seat. In order to avoid an awkward 12 hour flight, I agreed to change my bigger seat for a smaller seat. I felt disappointment that Air New Zealand separates parties and leaves room for uncomfortable situations. I really did not know what to do in this scenario, I paid for that seat but was in a way forced to give it a away without any refund in order to avoid 12 hours seating with some stranger's wife."

Cons: "My only complaint was in regard to the children's meals. We ordered children's meals ahead of time for our 2 kids. On our flight from SFO to AKL, no problem but on the return flight they only brought us one child's breakfast. I asked a crew member for the other one. She told us it would be brought over but never was. So my son had to wait until the regular meals were brought and have one of those. Not a big deal but it was a little annoying. Also, for the return trip dinner, they served delicious Kapiti ice cream with the adult meal but no ice cream with the kids' meals so my kids were super disappointed about that and my husband and I shared ours with them. Again, not a terrible offense, just a little annoying."

Cons: "The staff from Air NZ made me lose my flight, keeping me doing queue after queue to pay for a piece of luggage that (apparently) was not included in a $350 fare. They wanted me to pay between $160 and $200 for putting a backpack in the plane!! Pay for almost another flight entirely! While I was going through the queues, the check in time ran out and, by the time I got to talk to someone at the desk to pay for the bag, the woman told me the plane didn't accept any more passengers... while I was still trying to get someone from the airline to help me! ONE HOUR BEFORE DEPARTURE. The plane was supposed to departure at 8:15 and I was still there at 7:15 trying to send my backpack to the cargo area...the solution? Re-book the flight, make me pay $185 in penalties and fees, plus $160-$200 for luggage and the difference of price when booking another flight."

I had assumed that planes had navigational instruments to assist landings in low cloud, but it seems that much depends on actual physical visibility. Is this something to do with the fact that flight control towers are not manned? It was very disconcerting and the pilot's seemingly casual attitude did not really help. I was grateful to finally be able to land but was told on disembarkation that had there been 50ft less visibility, we would have been on our way back to Auckland!"

Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."

We could not check in online, and it wasn't even possible to choose a seat before you got to the airport unless you wanted to pay a premium for it. To make matters worse, there is no transparency in the process; we had no idea what seats they were assigning us, or even whether the three of us would be able to sit together. And when we showed up at the airport, the last leg of my flight had been deleted from my itinerary (but not that of my family members). And guess what? They couldn't do anything about it until I was ready to get on that last flight! The crew were great, but all the behind-the-scenes aspects of Qantas were absolutely horrible. Two days later I'm still reeling from the experience. What a terrible way to treat customers."

This made me uneasy from the very beginning that I would lose my London-Luxembourg flight. The crew in the boarding gate, only after much insisting, said they would make a note so that someone from Qantas would wait for me and help me get my London-Luxembourg flight no problem, but in the next stopovers (Melbourne, Dubai), there was no sign of this. Also, the delay in the end was 2h 20 min - and I lost my flight to Luxembourg."

While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

Cons: "What I don't like is what is true of all airlines now and that is that if you are born with long legs you are penalized and expected to pay more money than people with short legs - that is prejudice and not fair to people that cannot do anything about it. I understand charging obese people extra because they have a chance to change it. Also, seats are too narrow now!!!"

The screen was the old fashioned type and had to be fixed on to the chair in front. There wasn't much information on the flight journey. The food was awful! What sort of snack is pizza and a Mars Bar!!! Terrible nutrition in this day and age and where was the fruit we were promised."

The food and mid flight snacks were delicious and free, the on-board entertainment was extremely diverse, entertaining and free, the offer of a glass of wine with my meal was delightful and having a bottle of water waiting in my seat pocket was very thoughtful and much needed during mid-flight. Quantas may not be as high tech as some of its sister airlines but the basic needs of its passengers are met without fanfare or need to fuss around with price lists and coupons and wether or not you have a debit card, credit card, visa or mastercard, cash or indeed, no card or cash at all. Quantas is my airline of choice and they have delivered every time."

Cons: "An S80? Really? This plane was older than me! Horrible plane! The crew looked like they had been up since 4 am. Looked exhausted and unfriendly. I do want to clarify that this was an American Airlines operated plane, not etihad."

Cons: "Seated next to two obese people and when combined with narrow seats made it all but impossible to sit comfortably on my seat. Flight was delayed on the tarmac for almost an hour due to missing part. When flight arrived in SLC, gate wasn't open (at nearly 1 AM) and had to wait on tarmac again for 10-15 minutes."

Pros: "Flight was good, there was no entertaiment, so i put one, but the flight was only almost 4 hrs. At night."
Cons: "I like the service I got and the service I got. I have back surgery and walk with assistance and the lady that helped me a the the birding desk took care of my needs and it was so much appriciated.. Thank you."

Cons: "Seating is so uncomfortable, unable to recline more than an inch or so, then everybody rushes around making you return to an upright position! What's the point?"

Pros: "We flew out of Dallas on AA Eagle and what a great flight! Super roomy, great staff, newest aircraft. Loved it .. wish we could have flown all the way home to SLC on the Eagle!"
Cons: "The only thing we didn't like was the turbulance coming into Amarillo (tornado warning!) but the AA Eagle handled it just fine .. so truly there are NO complaints .. Love this short flight between Dallas and Amarillo!"

Pros: "The FAs on this flight were nice, engaging and caring, the way they should be, so I was happy about that."
Cons: "There was a teenager in front of me that was turning back every few seconds and made me nervous what she was looking back for. Then, there was an elderly woman sitting right next to me that kept pushing me every time she'd get out her tablet, pills, pocketbook, etc. By the end of the short 2-hour flight, I've had it with her."

Pros: "Food was good, crew was efficient. Flight was fine"

Pros: "we paid $300 for more leg room on the 787...it was great....really comfortable seats."
Cons: "the volume on back seat screen....impossible to get right with the touch screen. GO BACK TO KNOBS PLEASE AS SOME AUTO COMPANIES ARE DOING."

Cons: "The check in computer crashed before it started. Only manual check in available and the staff wasn't trained to handle it. It delayed the flight over 2 hours and then the process screw up someone visas and they had to be removed with their luggage. But you know this already! You need to implement a better secondary system and have your employees be trained to use it."

Cons: "Only one drink service for 5 hours, attendants not friendly or attentive, and it took an eternity--again with AA--for the bags to hit the carousel. Over 30 minutes' wait."

Cons: "I am an AA member and usually fly them domestic. The seats are horribly uncomfortable for an international flight. The flight attendants woke you up for meals. There is no space between you and the seat in front of you and they didn't tell anyone to put their seat up while you were eating. It was really difficult to get comfortable. I find it easy to fall asleep on planes and I couldn't fall asleep on this one."

Cons: "Felt as though some American Airlines crew members were abrupt. I've never experienced that with Qantas or Jetstar."

Cons: "We had purchased the tickets months before flying - It was Quantas, but we flew on American and Alaska- no one seemed to talk to each other - not one site had the complete itinerary. Took hours of phone calls and a lot of anxiety before we completed the trip. I used my American airline frequent flyer card and even though we flew over 14000 miles, we got credit for 500."

Pros: "- The boarding process went very fast and smooth for such a packed plane."
Cons: "- food was HORRIBLE. I asked for the chicken dinner and it was COLD and disgusting. There should always be a pasta option on a flight. Also, they ran out of red wine before dinner. - the staff skipped over me TWICE when handing out beverages. I had to remind them that I existed twice and they didn't apologize for skipping over me."

Pros: "a fast paced cabin crew! superb!"
Cons: "economy seats had my knees jammed into the seat back ahead. Couldn't sleep a wink."

Pros: "Fit and finish of cabin interior was nice."
Cons: "I REALLY wish this flight had drop down footrests in coach. The video demonstration advises passengers to put up foot rests and tray tables upon approach. I wish there had been a foot rest - my back was killing me due to the inability to lift my knees and feet to take the pressure off my lower back."

Cons: "The food was awful. Fish was rubbery and smelled bad, eggs were a gloppy mess, everything was too salty."

Cons: "The boarding was chaotic. An absolute debacle with the seating. The crew seemed completely disinterested in the passengers or doing their job for that matter. We had to ask multiple times for things that they said they had run out of on the cart but would bring it back from the galley, we never saw them again. The list goes on but you get the point."

Pros: "The flight was very comfortable. The seats were very roomy. Boarding process was seamless. Staff were friendly and helpful"
Cons: "I had asked for a vegetarian meal when I booked the tickets - this request didn't come through on my booking. I asked again at check-in, they informed me I should have called 24 hours before and organised it. Luckily the flight had vegetarian meal options onboard so I did not starve. The movie selection was not the best. The entertainment unit itself was really good however."

Cons: "Took forever to get plane boarded and we left late for no reason. Seat is like a brick."

Pros: "It was windy and clouds were here and there when our aircraft was approaching the Salt Lake airport. I was expecting a rough landing, but I was amazed how smooth the landing was. After flying 15 hours in one day, nothing could make me feel so good than the fluffy smooth landing. I wish I could give a "King of Smooth Landing" award to the captain!!!"

Cons: "We waited 6 hours at the airport. American Airlines kept changing our gate number from gate a17 to gat a39 to gate a9. Then at midnight we received the noticed they cancelled the flight but before we received that the attendance at the counter all left. The display above gave us a number to call or we could go wait in a line with over 100 other people we started to for about 1hour and was on hold on the phone at the same time as we watch customer relation people leave while the line got bigger. Soon there were only 4 people with a long line. We left after 1 hour but stayed on hold on the phone. After over a hour we finally got through on the phone. The next fight isn't till sat even, we were leaving Thursday so we said we needed to cancel our flight. Instead of them doing the cancelling and refunding our money we now need to login after 24 hours with or tickets an request a refund. The fun doesn't stop with American Airlinees. We have flown them in the past for years and their service has gone down terribly since the take over."

Cons: "My flight was very full. I sat on row 10 and there was NO window at all, just a blank wall. We flew over the Grand Canyon and I was not able to see it at all because there was NO window. If you offer seats on rows with no window, it should be at a discounted fair and the airlines should explain there is NO window on that row. (This would be extremely helpful for those that experience claustrophobia.) I was very disappointed because there was NO window. One of the flight attendant that served me drinks was very agitated (she was having a very bad day) and it was apparent in her service."

Cons: "One hour delay on the tarmac before taking off and baggage delivery took way too long at 1AM"
