Excellent service. Clean aircraft. Took off and landed on time. Did not feel it was an 18 hour flight. Will definitely fly Singapore Airlines again.

Nothing much to expect for an hour flight

Pushed to check in carry on bags when overhead compartments had enough space. Very poor food and staff on Singapore to India flight.

Pros: "It's not the cheapest way to fly but it's a great way to cross the Atlantic. Seats are big enough for 2, really. Lay flat beds make the night crossing east tolerable. You really can get several hours sleep. The cabin crew is outstanding, patient, and extremely responsive to requests. Two meals served were excellent. Entertainment choices were complete. After a number of flights in Economy on other airlines I'm spoiled by Singapore Airlines and also by Business Class. And their fares seemed much less than others for the JFK to FRA route. Had no idea this level of luxury existed on an airplane."

Cons: "I purchased this ticket without realizing that the law stipulated 6-month validity remaining on one's US passport to enter singapore. The Singapore Airways website does not state this anywhere, and it was not until I arrived at the airport that I was informed that I wouldn't be able to check in, but nor could I refund or transfer the ticket. The booker should be obliged, when one enters the passport information upon purchasing the ticket, to make note if the passport expiration time is not valid for the flight. Spent $600+ on the flight, and the customer service person I spoke to from the airport was very abrasive and not interested in helping me figure out an alternative."

Cons: "I asked to be placed in a seat as close to the front as possible as I suffer from motion sickness in the back of the plane. I was placed in the back row all the way to my destination and all the way home. I vomited 8 times and felt very sick. I did notice that there were many seats available in the front of the plane but they are never given out as women with babies and children always get them and then single travellers like myself are made sit in the back. I travel a lot, I usually fly Qantas and they are very good at providing seats closer to the front. I will be reluctant to fly Singapore Airlines again due to the fact that they were not accommodating at all."

Cons: "From the moment we checked in in Singapore there was no service. Having travelled first class and Economy before with Singapore I was very disappointed with Business class. My husband and daughter were in First Class. The service was below average to say the least - more training required from check in to on board - (in Sydney the staff on the ground went above and beyond) In Singapore it was very fake and contained no sincerity. The lounge itself was also ordinary compared to others, no Amenity kits or PJs in business class - even Virgin Australia has that! I was so excited to be travelling Singapore again given past experiences but now Im not sure I will want to fly them again."

Check in at Auckland airport was very quick and highly automated, however, our gate was not posted till one hour before the flight, so we did not know where was the best place to sit and wait."

This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Also, the flight times AKL-YVR and YVR-AKL are so civilized! You leave each city around dinner time, you dine, you watch a movie, sleep as much as you want, have breakfast, and then it's time to land! Way better than other options that leave at odd times."

Anyway, it was a redeye so people slept for most of it and I watched movies and drank wine. The airplane was clean and bathroom were as well. It was a full flight so a little cramped."

Was delayed over 2 hours leaving Sydney. One staff member was loudly telling a passenger that they shouldn't have stowed their bag where they has as it was her position for her bag. Not very professional. Better late than never though. Overheard a few passengers while waiting saying how their flights had been cancelled the day before and had to find their own accommodation in Sydney.

Boarding at Vancouver was poorly managed

Baggage delivery was poor in Brisbane. And they treated the bags badly. I lost 2 Q readers and they damaged bags. I know they are not happy with Qantas but wasn't really necessary

Liked the onboard wifi and that the plane was on time. Boring snack. Absolutely hate having to sit next and close to a stranger. Wish I was rich!!

It seem as if short flights are getting a raw deal with old planes and sub standard food, systems to save costs. If they cannot maintain a consistent level of standard across all their products let another provider in who can."

Pros: "Had problems with check in because of china eastern mishandling our baggage, the Quantas staff got everything sorted for us. Plenty of leg room on the flight and the cabin staff were fantastic, only thing that let it down was the food choice, but, as it was only a 3 hour flight this wasn;t really a problem. Cons: "American Airlines cancelled a flight because of ‘weather’ from Msy to dfw, all other flights from Msy to Dallas operated on time but were sold out. We were re booked flying through San Francisco, missing out on flying on qantas, which is what I had paid for since they are a premium airline. We were booked on virgin America and then United for the international flight. United charged us each for 2 bags totalling $150 each, despite we booked a ticket with qantas which allows 2 bags each. Virgin America honoured our 2 bags, but united refused to. United also has service and aircraft which do not match the levels of qantas which I has specifically sought out. I could not eat some of the food because of the poor quality, and this is something I’ve never done before on an international flight. Additionally their were a lack of amenities on both flights, and no food vouchers despite our travel delay of over 5 hours. This whole ordeal has cost me money, worktime, and created a lot of stress to where I have had to cancel meeting on my arrival in Sydney."

The seat was reasonably comfortable, and reclines back a decent way. For how huge the plane was, the boarding process was super fast and efficient!"
Cons: "Seats were still rather cramped for my poor husband, who is 6'3. It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."

Sadly our plane to Australia from Los Angeles did not have the same seats. Entertainment selection excellent ! Great line up of brand new and older movies. Cons: "Every other flight I had on my holiday I was give an exit row or extra seating as I am 6ft5in. Not with Qantas. I even lined up 5 hours prior to flight. Nothing special about this flight unfortunately."
Pros: "It was the day before Christmas and all the crew were friendly and happy to be at work (of service) from check in to cabin crew. Just lovely thank you."
Pros: "The crew on both legs of our flight were great and did their very best to take care of the customers even in poor circumstances."
Cons: "Our original flight from Sydney to SFO was cancelled due to mechanical issues after boarding over an hour late and then sitting in our seats on the tarmac for over 3 hours. The flight was rebooked for the next day, but on a much older and far less comfortable plane. The plane had no room of any kind, especially for a taller person, and there was no choice but to put your seat back if the person in front of you had. The inflight entertainment was also far less advanced. After having such an excellent flight to Australia I was highly disappointed by the flight home. Other than putting us in a free hotel for the night and paying for taxi fares there was no compensation which cost me a full day of work."
Pros: "The crew was lovely and fairly attentive in business class. I had access to the First Class lounge in Sydney and it is wonderful. Even has a spa, though don't expect first class spa treatment. Uh, plane was clean and food was ok, but getting a cocktail was difficult."
Cons: "Business class seats are uncomfortable and there is nowhere to store and easily access something as simple as a book. There is a storage compartment on the seat in front of you, which you cannot reach without getting out of your seat.. While the seats do go flat, it's not something you can sleep on your side for long. Ended up reclined and sleeping on my back, which is not ideal. accessing my reservation was impossible and had to call Australia to get a seat assignment, which was reassigned by the time we checked in anyway. I care where I sit and book early to have choices. I hate to say it but I was not impressed."
Pros: "Overall a great plane- we were on the 380 going to lax and then we switched to a really old plane. There was a delay of 3 hours from lax which was very annoying."
Cons: "The delay was horrifying. Staff were friendly enough but they really should have offered more snacks and water"

Head phone jack is inside the seat arm rest which made it awkward when adjusting. No standard head phone jack but a converter is provided."

Cons: "Crew service is slack as usual, and hasn't improved much - you have to ask for everything - breakfast they forgot the coffee - had to ask, second drink before evening meal - forget it they are just too busy - all 23 of them! On Cathay or Singapore or even United - they help as much as they can."
Pros: "the staff were exceptional. I was in a bright area trying to sleep. I had my beanie pulled over my eyes. the staff asked if they could suspend a blanket above my head between the two seats to shield the light."

Cons: "I paid extra to sit at the quiet zone only to be disturbed all night by a crying baby. The stewardess are also not friendly and used fierce tone to ask us to turn off our phones. We ordered food for it to be our breakfast before arrival but the food was served at 1am. When asked if I could eat it later since I am really tired and wanted to rest, the stewardess just hush me to eat it now since later light will be off. It would be better if the food is served as breakfast before arrival."

Cons: "No food or drinks? What the hell is that? Not even a snack. I've flown with companies all across the world and everyone of them except you offers something free to eat. Also you switched our flights until they were right after one another. We got on a flight at 12 pm right after we ate lunch. We fly for four hours with no food. We get to the terminal and have to run through to catch our next flight so no food. Then fly another two hours with no food and end at 2 am still hungry. Offer something to eat to your customers, don't be a shitty airline."
Cons: "Slow check in, had to pay way too much for checked baggage. No food, snacks or beverages included. Had to pay to rent blankets on their cold planes."
Pros: "Staff were helpful while checking in."
Cons: "I don't understand how paying for checked bags ahead of time would be priced any differently than doing it at the check in counter, but the difference is exorbitant. It's a cheap airline for a reason and they get their money back by charging you for everything, including water during the flight. It's better to pay a little bit more for a real airline where standard things like carry ons, checked bags, water, and drinks come complimentary, especially for long flights."

Pros: "The price! Efficient and friendly service. If you don't need to be fed every 4 hours, don't need onboard entertainment and can handle the slightly less legroom than standard carriers then AirAsiaX is highly recommended"
Cons: "You get what you pay for, or in the case of budget carriers you don't get what you don't pay for. AirAsiaX is no frills but that said it is efficient and gets you where you want to go for the lowest prices around. The meal you receive with the 'bag upgrade' pack is ok but nothing special."

Cons: "Check-in crew was extremely slow and clueless about what thet were doing. Little to no sense of urgency at all, made a few mistakes, many customers had to come back and get them fixed. One man was on the verge of tears because he was about to miss his flight. The employee even asked me for my visa for my arrival in Kuala Lumpur, for which none was required. When he realised his mistake, he seemed all the more confused. All in all, I have waited one hour in a line with five people ahead of me."

I had to pay 1200 juans ( 200 USD) fee and I don't know how it was calculated . In my opinion airline cheats customers.l had to wait to check in more than 3 hours - very bad organisation."

Cons: "They don't tell you that the *minimum* charge for checked baggage is AUD 39 for EACH leg of the trip until you attempt to check in online. Presumably they're trying to avoid price competition. Pretty sleazy! Also, no in flight entertainment and they charge for water. They threaten to charge you still more (without telling you how much more) if you don't print out your boarding pass in advance. In the end, however, it is *not* necessary. I guess they just enjoy killing trees and being dicks."

Cons: "1. I received one email from AirAsia giving me a confirmation number to my flight. Little did I know that I was supposed to receive a second email with booking number. Therefore, when I got to the Pudong airport, I just didn't have a ticket. I was passed from one person to another without explanation what was going on. Then the person who finally helped me was incredibly rude and even told me to "not say anything" to him when I voiced my complaint. I wasn't allowed to pay by card only cash. 2. The flight was delayed by over an hour and I wasn't allowed to use the toilet for over an hour. 3. The crew were unfriendly and unprofessional. We were waiting to take off for so long I had finished all my water and when they finally came around to give us water, IN THE MIDDLE OF GIVING ME MY WATER the steward decided to chat with another stewardess for a minute. That was the last straw. It was the worst possible flight on top of it being red eye. SO incredibly unprofessional. It's like they purposefully want you to feel bad for choosing a budget airline. And it's not even that budget. I am never going to fly with this airline again."

Cons: "Took one hour to check in. Charged $70 for EACH normal carry on. Air temperature in cabin bloody freezing. Crew are pleasing on the eye, but they do not appear to be interested in the comfort of the passengers. Same trip with LAN Sydney to Auckland....free food plus all drinks...Air Asia even a cup of tea came with a price. Similar fares charged by both airlines. Entertainment a joke! Not one monitor or adapter in cabin!!!"
Pros: "flights were on time and the crew friendly, i paid a little extra for the premium flex fare which was worth it for the priority check-in and baggage"
