Pros: "The Qantas lounge in Singapore is very nice. Nothing special relative to some others like Cathay, but lots of showers and good food are the key for a stopover, and the Qantas Lounge has that. The meal options are better out of Singapore than coming in to Singapore, The "order ahead" breakfast concept, where you place your order for breakfast when you board has it pros and cons. The personal service is nice, but one needs to know almost 12 hours ahead of time what they feel like eating. Overall a positive, but for me, it's hard for me to anticipate my appetite. It was my first A380 flight (together with the Sydney - Singapore leg), and overall I was disappointed relative to the Dreamliner. Yet it stands out as a positive the way that Qantas has configured business class on the upper deck. It's quite peaceful."

Caused by waiting for flight QF11 from Sydney and mechanical issues or something else which caused JFK passengers from another flight to be put aboard QF11 continuation to JFK. Turbulent air most of the way to JFK, no fault of Qantas. However pilot made no effort to avoid it or was not allowed to go to another flight level. In any event no communication from Capt. Food was mediocre at best. Cabin crew was getting beaten up by turbulence. They did the best they could. Arm rest USB power receptacle broke and headphone jack faulty (60C)."

Between departing international flight - picking up luggage/toilet stop and clearing Immigration/Customs then catching bus between Qantas international domestic terminals we were racing to catch flight. As we arrived Qantas domestic terminal our names were being called over along with info the plane was awaiting our arrival. In my experience 2hrs is minimum time between connecting flights - otherwise good experience."

I had boasted to my fam that Quantas (was famous in my memory) as having economy seats that felt more like other airlines Business Seats. My kids were eager to experience the "Quantas" seats. I was severely dissapointed to find that your economy seats, now, are even smaller than the Chinese seats we regularly fly (we are in our 5th year of ex-pat assignment in China). You should have seen the look on my kids faces. Evidently, i must have "talked Quantas up too much", because there was a great deal of dissapointment. We will travel back to NZ and Aus., this fall, but will no longer prioritize Quantas as our airline of choise. I guess times change, and a little bit of nastalgia lost.... :("

Pros: "Emirates are leaps and bounds above the rest as far as comfort and quality goes when it comes to flying. Economy class EASILY beats business class for most other airlines imho, although you obviously don't have the large seat which reclines all the way back. But for an economy experience, Emirates are the best. Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff, all the perks you want and super comfy. I wish I didn't have a Qantas flight on the first leg!"

Pros: "A380 is obviously a wonderful jet to fly; it's very quiet and is usually equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment, so it's great for long haul flights. If you are lucky enough to get a couple of seats free next to you, you can even lie down and sleep."
Cons: "The cost cutting at QANTAS has become painfully clear though, with the in-flight experience. The food was terrible, the staff gave me a plastic water bottle which I was then to keep and refill at the water station myself (no fresh bottled water), they didn't come to collect rubbish, except after meals, throughout an entire 14 hour flight, and the seat pockets were very small, meaning I ended up with a lot of stuff poking into my knees - not very comfortable."

The lady at the counter said that we had to check in at least 3 hours before the flight, which is a lie. I asked if there is anything she can help re-schedule, and she simple refused to help in anyway. I am very disappointed on the service of Quanta airline."
