The crew should have kept us better informed with the updated delays. They didn't pass out a single snack the entire 4 hour delay, and gave us one cup of water each, terrible experience"

Then we waited for security to arrive at about 4:30 am to get through and it was quite a slow shake down. One through there were no restaurants open until 5-5:30 am. The flight itself was fine. Facilities at Frankfurt were minimal with toilets offering only one stall each. While standing in the long queue a lady and her young daughter were rudely ushered out by the male custodian for cleaning, and then it could not be used for another 10-15 minutes."

Cons: "There are a number of things that Etihad do that just degrade the quality and experience of the flight and I probably wouldn’t fly with them again as a result. I’ve listed these below: 1) Entertainment system is poorly appointed and travel in two seperate months found that little had been refreshed on the in flight programs. 2) The entertainment system is deactivated until the seat belt sign is turned off, and is deactivated again about 30 minutes prior to landing. 3) You practically have to cut off your arm to get some water. I would always bring my own water on the flight, but Australian regulations prevent more than 100mls being carried on flight. 4) The service is inconsistent, some staff are just downright rude and others are incredibly friendly. The time waiting after pressing the call bell is excessive and in one case my drink never arrived. 5) Unlike other airlines, they don’t give you a “menu” to chose from for the inflight meal. Instead they just come around asking “Chicken, Lamb or vegetarian”, and lack any real understanding of what’s actually in the food. 6) When you order a drink, they open the can pour some into a cup but don’t give you the remainder in the can. 7) The inflight wifi is expensive. 19.95 USD for 180mb puts them at one of the most expensive. Overall, I would have expected a bit more from an airline such as Etihad."

Flew from Chicago O’hare to Abu Dhabi."

They are simply not worth the money you save, considering the pain they make you sit through. Extremely poor service from the staff and they offer little to no option to you if the flight gets cancelled. They were not willing to accommodate my request to reroute to a new destination (which actually is cheaper than my original destination) as i was about to miss my consular appointment due to the flight cancellation and this was the only way I could make it. They outright said it's not possible, didn't even check if the flight to the new destination has availability or not. The staff especially at Heathrow is a joke, don't even bother reasoning with them."

However because of the way they hsndled this the delay turned out to be a blessing! Etihad put us up for the 12hour daytime delay in the magnificent Marriot Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The communication and transfer were handled very well. It was a painless process and we got to enjoy a lovely rest before being transferred back to the airport and flying home. Pretty much a faultless experience and one that would see me fly Etihad again without hesitation."

Cons: "My flight was from SFO to Abu dabi to ktm, then they changed it to sfo-chicago- Abu dabi- ktm. Made my flight longer and had to fly at 5am. instead of 9.30am. I have 2 little kids and it was hard. My first leg was on American Airlines where all my luggage was checked in plus had two carry on luggage, which were all good till Chicago. In Chicago Etihad counter, they refused to clear my carry on saying it was too large and wanted me to pay $300 each. I had to empty one carry on into my backpack and was forced to pay $300 for the other. They should have refused in SFO instead of after my first leg of travel. It's a set up. I will not fly Etihad again period."
Pros: "The very large windows and bathroom linoleum pattern were a nice change from what I'm used to with other Airbus and Boeing planes."
Cons: "The sink in the bathroom had a slow drainage issue and upon informing the crew, one attendant immediately went to check it out."

Cons: "Major first flight to Abu Dhabi has been canceled. That took place around 5 hours. Then the whole journey has been rebooked and I reached the final destination after 10 hours of the previous schedule with lost baggage."

The queue at the gate was very badly managed

Cons: "People don't stop growing at 5'8. There are people taller than that, in fact quite a lot of people are taller than that. So much in this world is made without this consideration in mind. I'm 6'1, I shouldn't have to pay hundreds more just so I have enough legroom. And I don't mean enough to swing my legs about as much as I want, just enough to be comfortable. This isn't essential on short flights, but just seems cruel to taller people on long flights."
