However we were flying West and thus into daylight. Sadly the window seated passengers were not asked to close their window blinds to block out the sunlight and many were left open. This made the cabin very bright and a difficult environment in which to sleep. Too much advertising before the on board videos, but otherwise content was good."

We spoke to a flight attendant about it early on in the flight, spoke to the kids and spoke to the parents. Then spoke to the kids and parents mid flight. And then spoke to them all, including a flight attendant towards the end of the flight. The issue was never resolved. We asked to change our seats but could not. We asked for the parents to trade seats with the kids and they would not. It was the worst, most uncomfortable flight I have ever taken. And I fly regularly for work and for pleasure. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I was actually in tears on the flight because I was so tired, uncomfortable and frustrated."

I don't usually complain but there were a few things that seemed a little off about the service. Not expecting anything special but a little kindness and thoughfullness when possible is appreciated."

I would hope they would have a few extra vegetarian meals on hand for passengers who may stupidly and mistakenly not selected that during booking.. With most of the extra comfort seats around me empty I was not allowed to move to one of them from my economy seat. Not asking for extra service but it seems like it should be fine to move if there are completely empty rows all around. Not sure if the crew members are not allowed to give extra treatment to passengers or what."

During online check-in, 3 of us were scattered about the plane and the other 2 were not even assigned seats. NO ONE at customer service was able to assist us over the phone nor at in person check-in. It was not resolved until we got to the gate and we were divided onto 2 different groups."

At the airport in Maui, once we used the self-check-in to print our boarding passes and luggage check-in tags other airlines would have had someone take you luggage from you and you're done. Here, we now have to take our luggage and get into a long line where we then take it to another counter. 2. Why were there twice as many people in the TSA pre-check line as in the regular line? My son and his GF did not have TSA pre-check, yet they went through security much faster than my wife & I. 3. Seats too narrow. I was snugly fit in, and I had to stand in order to get something out of my front pant's pocket. 4. Not enough legroom and no way to stretch my leg (and my very painful knee). We sat in row 17. It was right side bulkhead on 2-3-2 configuration. There was no way to stretch out my knee. The configuration of the inside of the aircraft placed the bulkhead wall too close to the seat. My leg was at about 70 degrees the entire flight (0 degrees is completely straight). Notably, the same row on the left side of the plane had about another 12 inches of leg-room. That's just the way the plane was configured. 5. No WiFi 6. Entertainment device rip-off. I wasn't interested in renting an entertainment device, but I was offended by their offer. If you signed up for it at the desk before boarding you would pay $15 and would get the device 20 minutes after take-off. If you waited until you were on the plane you would pay $17. The worse part: YOU WOULDN'T GET THE DEVICE UNTIL 2 HOURS INTO THE FLIGHT!!!"

Can't be in uniform for international flights and the boarding crew couldn't understand that. They gave me a disgusted look and said please wait to be called on board. I had arrived early too saw an earlier flight going to the same place i needd, asked if they had an empty seat if i could join that flight. Once again, that crew without looking or hesitation, said no room available and wait for your flight. The part that got to me was she didn't even look. Being overseas for two years and coming home to this, just killed my spirit to be back in the United States. I thought Hawaiian Airlines would be a relaxing and fun airline but i was sure wrong."

F Had to take separate seats from family and middle seats, had to spend entire day in Sydney which required us to spend money on a visa and money to eat, had additional stress of then arriving too late and needing to rebook rental car and arranged hotel and make sure elederly parents with special needs were ok health wise. Cons: "Flight canceled. Fiji airways told us we would be booked on Qantas instead but the flight wouldn't give us time to make the connection. Ended up flying later,, longer and much more uncomfortable than expected. Had to take separate seats from family and middle seats, had to spend entire day in Sydney which required us to spend money on a visa and money to eat, had additional stress of then arriving too late and needing to rebook rental car and arranged hotel and make sure elederly parents with special needs were ok health wise. Cons: "Plane was delayed by 2 hours Leg room was tight for a 10 hour flight Movie options were dated"
Pros: "Loved the friendly staff and the food was surprisingly tasty, although some meals were considerably nicer than others. There was plenty to do - great options of movies and shows - and the electronics worked perfectly."

Cons: "There was barely enough room for everyones stuff in the overhead containers. Because of the location of my seat (aisle, just when the number of seats oer row changes) I got bumped on my shoulder quite frequently."

Pros: "That the plane actually landed and picked us up. And it safely landed in Honolulu. Those were the only two positives."
Cons: "They left a guy behind on the island, they were delayed 5 days. They didn't seem to care they left us on the island for an extra 5 days. Fiji airways didn't try to get us off the island any sooner. Fiji airways had next to no communication about the situation. They used multiple different excuses for the delays. I'm never flying Fiji airways again."

Cons: "Treated like a second tier customer. Rude flight attendants. Did I mention my flights we're delayed 3+ hrs and the plane's engine gave out. That happened. Very poor/mediocre airline. Oh and the seats are extremely uncomfortable. Everyone around was worthy of contempt."
Pros: "It’s been a while since I have flown United, but I was pleasantly surprised by how great the crew on both of my flights were. I flew basic economy and was treated better and had as much leg room as with “upgraded service” from another carrier with an American name. After this experience I’ll go out of my way to book on United. Thanks"

Cons: "In flight entertainment was a phone/tablet holder in the headrest. This would have been okay except it required to have the United app installed on the devices which my kids did not have set up. The seats were tight and uncomfortable, plus the flight was completely full."
Pros: "Haven't flown United, now we remember why. Paid extra for comfort and the seats we had were actually more cramped than those around our seating. A long trip with no food, unless you want to pay more than a high end restaurant in Maui. No entertainment made a long, uncomfortable flight unbearable."
Cons: "Not having an eight hour delay due to poor scheduling of the airline."
Pros: "Crew were great, especially considering we had a couple of mishaps travelling with a five year old and five month old. Despite being a mega long flight it was comfortable and we were well looked after."
Cons: "Seats are a little narrow on the exit rows and bulkhead as the armrests accommodate the TV and tables. This also means they can’t be moved. Not unique to Air NZ though."

Cons: "United stewardesses have little to no interest in their duties. Questions were clearly an annoyance to them. The leg of flight from Denver to Des Moines was very uncomfortable, seats much to tigh, no leg room. Gate staff in Denver were exceptional. United needs to revisit their time for loading. We preloaded, I had a broken leg, I was traveling with a special needs woman. We just reached our seats when other passengers were prodding us to sit so they could board no time to settle. Not impressed"
Cons: "Check in clerk was mean nasty and said several times we could not fly because we didn’t have our tickets rather then helping us use the airport printer to print our tickets she said you can’t print you ticket until you show me your ticket. She should be fired it was united airlines won’t fly them again"

Pros: "Nice new plane. Very clean. Decent room in economy plus. On board food is expensive but tastes ok. Free soft drinks served a couple of times during the flight (4.5 hours)"
Cons: "No in seat screen for movies. Only if you had your own personal device e.g. iPad. Also access was not working consistently across the plane. Was told that only a certain a certain number of seats could access the in flight entertainment system at one time and "to keep trying" and "hopefully someone will drop off soon". In the end they acknowledged the issue and told all passengers to go online for compensation which they honored immediately."

Cons: "Flight attendant chided me for not reading menu beforehand. On one of the flights I had to shout out to thrm to even get a drink since they didnt stop at my seat. No space for a bag on the aisle seat on the 777."

Cons: "The United agent at the gate in Maui was terribly rude. She didn't even acknowledge that I was waiting in line to be helped for about 5 minutes. She went on the plane to check something for me and didn't return until 10 minutes later. When she came back to the counter, where I was still waiting, she started to talk to her coworker about chocolate and how great the crew was. She then turned to me and said, "can I help you?" She didn't even remember that she was in the middle of helping me! When I reminded her she was like "oh that's right" but didn't even apologize. The flight was delayed 2 hours which was pretty annoying too."

Cons: "Delayed, bad service, bad boarding technique, bad cabin crew, and when we landed we spent another 30min taxiing and sitting. My connector flight was delayed two hours and by time I got to San Diego my rental car company was already closed."

Pros: "Boarding was organized. When we wanted to check in our cabin baggage afraid that the overhead bins may be full by the time we board, we were properly guided that there is ample space, so there was no need to check them in. This saved us waiting time at LAX."
Cons: "We were not allowed to do online check-in because of codeshare, which was not very convenient."
Pros: "An eighty-five mile an hour tailwind got us from Los Angeles to Denver twenty-five minutes early. At LAX, our departure gate was only three gates from the arrival gate of our connecting flight, so no long trek through LAX. Seats on our 737-900 were tight and didn't recline far but, hey, United is the Wal-Mart of modern air travel. What do you expect?!"
