Staff is always friendly and happy...they really seem to absolutely love their job! Free toiletries in the bathrooms are an extra plus. Whenever there was a change in schedule / plans the captain informed the passengers immediately about what was going on and what would happen next."

The T S A officials there are unfriendly, sometimes rude, never smiling and often yelling at you or even little kids or elderly people. However we were flying West and thus into daylight. Sadly the window seated passengers were not asked to close their window blinds to block out the sunlight and many were left open. This made the cabin very bright and a difficult environment in which to sleep. Too much advertising before the on board videos, but otherwise content was good."

Cons: "I am a very experienced traveller. I always book an isle seat, especially for long flights (this was 12 hrs.), so that I can get up and stretch my legs etc. The couple sitting beside me were upset that I did not take the window seat. When it came time to sleep, the wife stretched out over her husbands legs, who was sitting beside me. This meant her feet were coming on top of my legs, and her legs were forcing her husbands legs into my space, touching my leg - I had to put a pillow between my leg and his leg. I asked the Qatar hostess if she could please ask the couple to change their positions, so that my seating space was respected, resulting in no body touching. The hostess replied that she was not permitted to ask the couple to change their positions and be more respectful. Fortunately there was another unreserved isle seat and I was able to move. Due to the fact that airplanes have become cultural melting pots, thousands of feet in the air, I think it would be peacefully beneficial too all, if a very discreet announcement could be made at the beginning of each flight regrading seating etiquette, respectfulness towards others etc. this could also be printed in the flight magazine. Thanks in advance."

You guys were late landing,and as a result I almost missed my connecting flight, was rushed thru the airport like a lunatic by one of your Reps. Then was told my luggage may not be in Abu Dhabi when I arrive, which it was not. My paid for seat wasn't available and had to sit in the back. Had to fill out a lost luggage report in Abu Dhabi. Was promised my luggage by 4:30 pm . Didn't receive it until 2:30 am next day. Missed my whole first day of vacation as I had no clothes , toiletries, etc . Very angry, and feel I should get a substantial discount on my next flight in March to Dubai. Totally unacceptable !!!!!!!"

Cons: "Broken backup computer not identified until 5 minutes before takeoff. Pilot said would be delayed one hour. Delayed four hours and didn’t get in until midnight, with busy day at work next day. Four hours is a lot longer than one hour. Just say four hours up front. Luckily we didn’t have to make a connecting flight. I would have been quite upset if I missed a connecting flight because they said it would only be a one hour delay and I didn’t try to switch to another flight because I was falsely told it would only be one hour."

The TV monitor/screens had movies that were expensive, but also the subtitles didn’t work and the headphone jack was messed up so it was really hard to hear anything. It was kinda quiet and crackling. It wasn’t like that when I plugged it into my phone. The seats were so small that I ended up getting my headphones ripped up just trying to be considerate of other passengers. My flight back didn’t even have movie options. Just 6 hours of light turbulence tickling my sciatica to the soundtrack of multiple screaming children. My girlfriends family and she were several rows up, where I was supposed to be, but I didn’t get the seat I booked so I just stared at them from zone 4 like the pauper I am."

Cons: "It is unfortunate that the staff works for an airline that is such a bargain basement in terms of customer service. We booked in January through priceline. Hawaiian airlines cancelled the late night flight we had paid for, and by cancel I mean the 10PM flights were cancelled across the board. We were put on an earlier flight, but they cancelled our seats, and "lost" the fact we had already paid more for extra leg room. So we paid $240 for something that they said we had no proof of. Despite that it was clear we had paid way more than the ticket would have cost otherwise, which we kept telling them."

Couldn't transfer the ticket into his name so we just lost the money and had to rebook him a flight. I'm irritated that I wasn't even prompted to enter passenger's name/info and that I didn't catch the mistake earlier. I'm also irritated that Hawaiian airlines couldn't do anything but give me a travel voucher that would cost $200 in fees to use, which was the original price of the ticket."

Cons: "They take such pride in serving a free meal, but don’t provide any options for special diets, either on board, or prior to check in. The magazine shows beautiful salads but they didn’t have anything fresh at all. The flight attendant came through with lunch sandwiches and told me I could buy something from the snack menu after they had cleaned up after the lunch service. She returned with the menu (which was all junk food) and never came back to see if I wanted to order anything. The plane was absolutely frigid, there was no entertainment."

Cons: "I did not like how rude the people were behind me, putting their feet on my chair, between my chair and the other chair next to me, screaming and hitting the back of my chair because the screan was not working properly.( this is only some examples of what they did) I know the behavior of the people flying on your airline is out of your control but I needed to give you the reason why I put only three stars on comfort and experience. Other than that I didn’t like how I had to pay for any entertainment provided by the airline."

Went to get boarding pass- had a small rolling suitcase (bought specifically for carry on and have used for last two years flying 6+ times per year) and a shoulder bag/purse. A woman flagged me down a so walked by saying my rolling case was too large an too heavy. I said “oh no i use this everytime i fly. It’s specifcally for carry on. Also it’s not even full so there’s no way it’s too heavy” also how would she know by looking how much it weights? In short she got very angry at me and said i have no choice but to check it. Then went over to counter and the lady said “you don’t need to check this is the correct size” she was very nice and i explained what happened. I’m just telling you this as maybe some of the newer employees are taking their jobs too seriously. Aloha!"

I was on your site for over an hour checking all the guidelines about bags, carry ons, where we need to be and i didn't check in time at all. I just can believe this, a hotel room paid will be empty, and well be here waiting until tomorrow so we could repeat the same thing this morning. waking up at 530 a, heading to LAX in traffic from orange . why."

Cons: "I can't tell you how disappointed I was to learn upon arrival in New Zealand, with no forewarning or preparation, that I was to be BUG SPRAYED before being allowed to leave the airplane. I have asthma. Being sprayed with chemicals is a serious health concern for anyone, but especially for those of us with asthma. They sprayed a cloud of chemicals directly over our heads and we sat helpless as the spray settled onto our clothes and skin and into our mouth and lungs. I had a asthma attack, and when I told the stewardess she looked at me and said "It won't be much longer." It was another 15 minutes. There were 10 of us celebrating our 50th Anniversary. AT 2.30 am I finally went to bed pretty upset It was left at my door at 5.30 a.m the next day. Poor communications after a wonderful celebration in Hawaii."

Pros: "I appreciated the staff assistance, even though I didn't appreciate the airline's protocol. I purchased seats next to each other, when I checked in 22.5 hours before the flight we (2) were split up. The airline told us our option was to purchase upgrades to sit next to each other. I waited patiently for 3 hours before the flight and spoke with a few gate attendants. They were accommodating and put us together, even though they moved us to the rear-most section of the plane and into the center section. Great free music stations."
Cons: "Having a meal on the flight is awesome! Not offering a vegetarian option (and cooking the meat in with the starch) meant that my fiance had nothing to eat but cookies and crackers. Also, overhead bin area was limited, mostly due to passengers bringing larger and larger 'carry-ons' (which are not actually carry-on sized). Hawaiian needs to be more strict about their carry-on sizes for rolling bags. They should fit wheels-in, not wheels to the side. Finally, media is available for free, but only for advertisement and promotion, entertainment media is only available for purchase."

Said there was an indication light that said the brakes had heated up and it would be 15 minutes to let them cool. Then said we would have go back to gate, saying it would be a little longer. These "little longer" efforts went on for just short of 3 hours! When we got in on the other end the gate was unavailable and we were forced to wait another hour on the ground there. 9 FREAKING hours in that plane next to gal and her toddler in her lap... bummer for me, but this poor gal missed her connection to CLEVELAND... gave me a perspective of what REALLY SUCKS."

The attendants were sour pusses, not a smile among them. They gave attitude with their service. I kind of felt their pain with the 15-20 screaming toddlers that were uncomfortable and begging for help. How about getting rid of the first class area and making a day care area where children can move about rather than parents up and down the aisles sharing the misery with us all. Didn't have the courtesy to alert us to our baggage terminal. I don't think I will ever get used to paying for my small bag to be stowed rather than fill up the passenger area."

Cons: "Flight out Airline gave me a standard seat although paid for extra room. I have a bad back so needed the room to sit forward in my seat. The row in front of me was extra room and the family sitting there said had booked their reservation the day before the flight. Same thing happened on return flight but I was smart enough to call ahead and fix. but got bounced around on the phone to 3 people including tech support to confirm seats. Bery frustrating. Boarded us 30 minutes late, no one knew what row was called as could not hear the announcements. People were being sent to the back of the line. Complete chaos. Then the unprofessional gate crew told about 200 of us that the captain wanted to leave and the door would close in one minute so hurry up. Not a fan of the airline."

Cons: "The flight was horrible.Delayed for over 7 hours Maui, with the crew giving us "30 min" updates which weren't updates at all except that we don't have an update, finally after 5-6 hours, they gave us meal vouchers and told us to come backt to the holding area at a certain hour. Then, when we got back they told us we were going to be flying over to Honolulu and picking up the new flight crew, I PAID FOR A NON STOP TICKET! NOT ONLY DID WE FLY TO HONALULU, THEY MAKE ALL OF US GET OFF THE PLANE AGAIN AND GET ON AGAIN AFTER 1-1.5 HOURS. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME AT 9:50PM ON SATURDAY NIGHT, INSTRAD LANDED AT LAX ON SUNDAY AT 7AM. NO ONE WANTS TO TALK REFUND, IT WAS A MESSY SITUATION - SEVERAL CUSTOMERS WHERE ONT HE PHONE WITH BOTH HAWAIIN AIRLINES AND PRICELINE, KAYAK TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON."

Cons: "One flight attendant was consistently rude and grumpy. She is definitely in the wrong end of the business. Flight was only half-full and I feel flight crew should have been more attentive. It was an afternoon flight, and no was was expecting to sleep. I had to get out of my seat to ask for coffee and water refills more than once. Hey, flying nowadays requires you stay in your seat as much a possible, and to that end the attendants should help, not continue to do as little as possible and the bare minimum."

Here, we now have to take our luggage and get into a long line where we then take it to another counter. 2. Why were there twice as many people in the TSA pre-check line as in the regular line? My son and his GF did not have TSA pre-check, yet they went through security much faster than my wife & I. 3. Seats too narrow. I was snugly fit in, and I had to stand in order to get something out of my front pant's pocket. 4. Not enough legroom and no way to stretch my leg (and my very painful knee). We sat in row 17. It was right side bulkhead on 2-3-2 configuration. There was no way to stretch out my knee. The configuration of the inside of the aircraft placed the bulkhead wall too close to the seat. My leg was at about 70 degrees the entire flight (0 degrees is completely straight). Notably, the same row on the left side of the plane had about another 12 inches of leg-room. That's just the way the plane was configured. 5. No WiFi 6. Entertainment device rip-off. I wasn't interested in renting an entertainment device, but I was offended by their offer. If you signed up for it at the desk before boarding you would pay $15 and would get the device 20 minutes after take-off. If you waited until you were on the plane you would pay $17. The worse part: YOU WOULDN'T GET THE DEVICE UNTIL 2 HOURS INTO THE FLIGHT!!!"

We ended up having 6 hour delay arriving at 1 am. This added so much stress that I lost all the energy I absorbed in Maui. Then it left at 3:55am which is the worst time to leave because I couldn't sleep beforehand and felt awful the whole evening and during the flight and after. My attempts to call Fiji Airways from my cell phone and then a landline at the airport didn't go through so I ended up messaging a friend in the States and she was able to call and get me booked on a NZ Air flight to Auckland that left the next morning. Both Jetstar and NZ Air gave me different information on what paperwork I needed and what my baggage and carry-on allowance was, which was frustrating. I finally arrived in Auckland 26 hours later than scheduled. I understand the cyclone cancelling the Fiji flights but the rescheduling error caused some significant expenses and a great deal of hassle."

Cons: "Delayed, bad service, bad boarding technique, bad cabin crew, and when we landed we spent another 30min taxiing and sitting. My connector flight was delayed two hours and by time I got to San Diego my rental car company was already closed."

Was an experience that eroded confidence in safety, something one would imagine from a third world airline. Unacceptable. No direction. Only instruction was to call United."

Cons: "I sat next to someone who basically took up half my seat which is the most uncomfortable way to spend a redeye. And an eight dollar fee for DirecTV is the silliest thing I've ever heard of for a 6 hour flight."

Pros: "Boarding was organized. When we wanted to check in our cabin baggage afraid that the overhead bins may be full by the time we board, we were properly guided that there is ample space, so there was no need to check them in. This saved us waiting time at LAX."
Cons: "We were not allowed to do online check-in because of codeshare, which was not very convenient."

Pros: "An eighty-five mile an hour tailwind got us from Los Angeles to Denver twenty-five minutes early. At LAX, our departure gate was only three gates from the arrival gate of our connecting flight, so no long trek through LAX. Seats on our 737-900 were tight and didn't recline far but, hey, United is the Wal-Mart of modern air travel. What do you expect?!"
