Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "Ordered a vegan meal for flight companion pre-flight; we *both* received a vegan meal (it seems like people with incompatible diets cannot book their flights together). Flight seemed to have run out meals since a random third person in my row requested an extra meal and was told they were out. Flight etiquette of other passengers would have been nice; for example, it was also fairly unsafe for a father and child to keep walking up and down the aisles, let alone the bumping into people they kept doing."
Pros: "I really enjoyed the food as always and overall, I felt very comfortable"
Cons: "I enjoyed my experience overall."
Pros: "The crew was lovely"
Pros: "The crew, the food, overall experience was great!"
Cons: "Use less plastic"
Pros: "Good quick flight"
Pros: "The plane was very comfortable. With decent leg room and nice seats. The in flight entertainment was excellent. As was the crews efficient and professional service. Top star"
Pros: "wasn't able to incline my seat..."
Cons: "being able to incline my seat..."
Pros: "Seat hard on older aircraft, needs new cushioning on seat"
Cons: "It was over $450 to try and change the short segment fligt from Christchurch to Auckland. I could have bought a new ticket for 1/2"
Pros: "I liked that there was food available and that they offered complimentary snacks and drinks. Some of the crew members were nice and offered good service. I liked that they offered some type of entertainment and free wifi."
Cons: "I didn't like that some of the crew members were not very nice. I also disliked that some of the crew members drove the food/beverage cart violently through the isles and saw as one of the crew members rammed into another person's leg, to only say "oh sorry" and kept on going. This same crew member missed picking up the trash from an entire row and was throwing trash on the floor. She was more interested in caring for a baby on board (not sure if it was her daughter or family member) than the rest of the passengers. I also didn't like the seats were so close to each other, the person in front of me almost hit my face when he reclined his seat all the way back. There wasn't much room to breath let alone stretch."
Pros: "Good food"
Cons: "Why so cold in the cabin!"
Pros: "Good seat, very pleasant crew."
Cons: "No entertainment so can't score that. Basic snacks"
Cons: "For the $s paid for this flight the crew could be a little bit friendlier and having a smile on their face."
Pros: "Have flown most carriers to Australia and NZ. Air NZ by far the best. I mean, I am flying cattle class, so its never going to be great. However, compared to the other carriers available, the seats are the most comfortable and have more legroom. If you can afford their sky couch, do so. Food is edible (and, to me, most airlines are not) and was nice to get WiFI all the way across for just a few air points."
Cons: "Would be nice if the seats had a foot rest, but this particular 777 did not. I have short legs."
Cons: "it was very cold"
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Pity that a light meal wasn’t served fir free but understand because of low price"
Cons: "The lack of communication with everything from queuing to board, to food allowance."
Pros: "The flight was good. The plane is very nice. The in-flight entertainment was good, but you have to pay for most shows/movies. The flight attendants were very nice. The landing was a bit rough. The plane kind of swayed/slide down the runway. But it was raining so it was understandable."
Cons: "Snacks aren't free. They ran out of food before they got to the back section of the plane. Most of the in-flight entertainment is not free."
Cons: "Cold flight Food average at best Overall nothing flash and nothing bad solid average"
Pros: "Our hostess was extremely friendly, accomdating and engaging. Air Nz need more staff like her! We had taken a Honolulu flight to Auckland flight the day before and were really disappointed with the service, lack of friendliness and the limited availability of food were not what I have come to expect on Air NZ, an airline we have been so proud of in the past to fly."
Cons: "There was no doubt the staff made this journey great!"
Pros: "Everything. A modern comfortable plane. It's embarrassing for airlines from America because they pale in comparison. I would gladly pay $100 more and fly in style IN COACH! Can't wait for the return flight."
Cons: "I am vegetarian so should request veg option meals"
Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."
Pros: "Clean modern plane, on-time, nice Regional lounge"
Pros: "Skycouch a MUST for long haul flights."
Cons: "bummed I couldn't even opt in or purchase wifi. being sel-employed and having such long flight - its just a missed opportunity."
Cons: "Unable to check-in online because of an international connection. Also, we need to pay extra for everything."
Pros: "Top quality flight"
Cons: "The black boxes next to your feet are oddly placed and limit leg room."
Pros: "The crew was very nice, and I loved the entertainment options."
Pros: "The boarding process was efficient and the seat was comfortable enough for coach class across the Pacific. It was a definite bonus not having someone in the middle seat. The food was quite good, and I appreciated the ability to get snacks throughout the flight. The crew was efficient, the IFE is very good, and the entire experience was very positive. I will continue to fly ANZ internationally as often as I can."
Pros: "Technology viewing screens"
Cons: "Connecting flights from Charles Dr Gaulle airport to Heathrow airport"
Pros: "Crew working hard and going the extra mile to alleviate systemic issues like overcrowding in economy, glitches with electronics, etc. They're resolutely cheerful and efficient."
Cons: "Air NZ are, like everyone else, packing more people in a plane: 10 across in economy, where it used to be 8. No upgrade option I could exercise, even though I've got plenty of miles and do this trip every 6 months, because of the fare class I booked through Kayak."
Pros: "Comfortable flight and service"
Pros: "entertainment, cleanliness, comfort"
Cons: "seats go far back in front of your face"
Pros: "REally liked the plane, crew, and accommodations."
Cons: "Our flight from Rarotonga was 2.5 hours late, causing us to leave Rarotonga at 2:40 AM ! The flight and crew were wonderful, but we were exhausted as sleep time was cut short because of the lateness of the flight."
Pros: "We upgraded to premium economy, and Tony was very attentive and took great care of us!"
Pros: "Happy helpful crew"
Cons: "Slow to board and no gate on arrival. Had to be bused to terminal and waited ten minutes for the bus to arrive."
Pros: "The space sllocated is grossly inadequate security is overcrowed Dave not aware of poor image this gives thr city that of a rural enclave"
Cons: "Ovetcrowed no space"
Pros: "I enjoyed the entertainment and two of the fight attendants were nice."
Cons: "I didn't care for the family that was surrounding us from all angles; they were constantly in and out of their seats visiting one another while pulling, kicking, and opening and closing the tray tables over and over again. I didn't care for one of the unpleasant flight attendants as well."
Cons: "Nobody believes in offering decent food anymore. Flying was so much better 25 yrs ago. Soon we will have to pay to use the toilet."
Pros: "short flight made seats less inportant"
Cons: "not the seats I selected in October"
Pros: "Staff and the cleaninless of the plane."
Pros: "Friendly staff Smooth boarding process Great entertainment system"
Cons: "temperature regulation on the plane was quite poor. Parts of the cabin were very warm and others were very cold and flight attendants had difficulty regulating the temperature. food was also quite bland."
Pros: "Comfortable Premium Economy seating is well worth the cost for such a long flight. Food was excellent and crew was very attentive. Entertainment system was very limited and clunky to use. The safety briefing is the most entertaining in the industry. Would readily choose New Zealand Air again."
Pros: "Generally like the airline, and Auckland airport. The crew onboard was great, but the guy that helped me check in, and the guy that took my money for the extra rad fee were rude and bad with communicating with both me and each other. Seemed a bit clueless really."
Cons: "That I got charged $140 extra to check a bag even though it all fit under my allowed weight. Very unhappy about that."
Pros: "The best service I've ever had with seamless rebooking and escorted followthrough to make my return flight. Even my luggage made it throughout the short interval layovers!"
Pros: "Comfortable flight. Drinks were excellent including tea!"
Cons: "Breakfast could be better. My son didn't get his choice on one flight and there was not much he would eat in choices. Make it more general so even teenagers/kids can enjoy. Crew could be nicer, especially in Premier Economy when we pay so much money!"
Pros: "It was a short flight"
Cons: "You had to pay for 3/4ths of the movies and shows. Kayak didn't specify whether I had a checked bag or not so when I got to the airport I had to fork over $120! I had no choice because I'm not going to leave my luggage behind. I was not pleased with this third party booking."
Cons: "The seats were extremely narrow. The stewards were un-attending The LA airport area was the pits, there are no one to help with your bags. I had my husband in a wheelchair and there was no one to help me with our bags! The security at LAX was joking and laughing amongst themselves and did not even look at us when they let us back into LA. We landed way far away from the building and I had to take my husband in a wheel chair and my hand luggage into a buss before we got into a building and we were the last ones to arrive, Vicky"
Pros: "The food and service was great"
