I went to pick up vehicle that I rented a month before get there they don’t have it. It says in the contract they would give me something similar I rented a 7 passenger van and all they had was a 15 passenger van that was way to big and that was my only choice between that and another huge van okay I understand if they don’t have my vehicle but to charge me an extra 46 dollars a day for something that was not my mistake is unacceptable so I had to pay an extra 400 that affects my finances for my family’s trip very unhappy and thrifty was absolutely no help at all needless to say I was furious I would love to talk to an actual human being not an aI generated person from thrifty they said it’s not their problemReviewed 18 Jul 2026

I prepaid for the rental and my flight time was changed where the rental office was closed early on the day of my arrival. I tried numerous times and there was no local phone number for the location for my rental at the airport. Customer service was not able to assist, and also denied a refund for my rental.I was not able to pick up my rental and was charged the full cost of the rental as well. HORRIBLE. . I landed in Philadelphia only to find they had closed at 11pm, and I was stranded. . My flight was set to get in at 10:30 and was a little late. I had 1) pre-paid for the car and 2) Checked in earlier that day (via an email from thrifty to speed up the time to get my car.) I had no other option other than to get a hotel room (got to bed at 1pm) and return the next morning. When I arrived at thrifty and told them what had happened there was NO apology. The response was that it is listed on their web site and I should have known, The woman then asked if I had booked through a third party and explained that they do not always post that information. Quite a lame excuse. These days, most people book through a third party and it is up to Thrifty to be sure any third party they use has all their information. I will never use them again. It was bad enough that I was stranded, but the lack of any remorse, apology and customer care was very unprofessional.Reviewed 3 Mar 2024
