Cons: "- The plane supposedly has free wifi :) :) :) but this is too good to be true. After a long and complicated procedure “all free wifi passes are gone, try again next time”. Someone said there are only 70 passes for the entire plane. - Similar experience with “free wifi” Guangzhou’s Bayun airport if you don’t have a Chinese simcard in your phone. - Navigating China Southern’s website for online check-in is a nightmare."

Pros: "The 3 employees at the counter got together & solved a glitch in our Australia visa that was priventing them from issueing bording pass for our second leg of travel They were outstanding & also unexpectedly we received a hotel respite for our 8 hour layover in Guangzhou! Smiling flight atendents. This is my first travel with China southern On the other hand during 6 wk prior to our trip we were unable to get anybody on the phone to ask Q or reserve a seat. On line charades where like a closed loops ! The price for long haul: Dubai/Guangzhou/cairns could not be beat!!"
Pros: "Didn't know what to expect. Terminals beautiful and new in Xi'an and Chengdu. Check-in super easy. Flight was great, attendants very professional. This is what we should aim for in the US. Metro from Chengdu airport to downtown was a dream."

Cons: "My experience with flying China Southern for my flights from SFO to BKK and HAN to SFO was the worst that I have ever experienced in my many years traveling for work and leisure. I took this trip with Connor Logan (booked separately) and we both received the same service. To start, when we arrived at SFO we were told our flight was delayed for 7 hours due to mechanical failure and that we would be unable to make our connecting flight in CAN. Even though we had checked the flight status the morning of the flight, there was no information updated. When I spoke to a China Southern employee, she told me that she was informed the Night Before when her boss called her into work because they knew an entire flight would have to be rerouted, yet they did not even warn passengers the morning of the flight. After being changed to a new flight plan, we struggled to get proper help to get our tickets with United and China Eastern because there were some issues with paper tickets that China Southern gave versus the tickets that United accepted. It took 4 hours of confusion in SFO and a stressful quick layover in Shanghai. We did not feel taken care of."
Cons: "The overall experience was horrible. As a start - even though we bought the ticket via China Eastern, they claimed no responsibility over the tickets, since it was operated by China Southern. We were re-directed to them to complete the check-in process. The flight was delayed by 5 hours, without fiving no explanation to the customers or any direction at all. The flight was supposed to depart at 9:15 in the evening, at midnight the status on the boards at midnight was still "check in" and the team at the desk were not cooperative at all. Tgank you."

He was screaming on the phone and refuse to listen saying I already told you what happened this is our policy thats it! At the end they finally rebooked the flight, but the layover was close to 10hrs. I later found out they had a 3hr layover. It could of been a lot smoother. I do not recommend this airline."

Pros: "I had just suffered multiple breaks in my arm/shoulder and was returning to the States. I was in considerable pain and flying alone - this was the first flight out I could get. Everyone was AMAZING. From helping to rearrange seats, other passengers, and even upgrade to maximize comfort and minimize more damage to my arm to helping open any food packages so that I could eat with medication and checking in on me frequently, I couldn't have asked for better attention given the situation. I hadn't heard of this airline before but now highly recommend - they were amazing through two flight legs, two different airline crews, and 3 airports. Cannot thank the crew enough for their attention and care during a very difficult time. I am a frequent traveler and this is the best customer experience I've ever had."

Cons: "1. Flight from Delhi to Guangzhou had bad air smell. 2. Limited entertainment especially if you are Indian. 3. Had to run nearly 1 km or over at Guangzhou to catch the connecting flight to Los Angeles. The Airline could have arranged vehicles rather than letting passenger run to catch the connecting flight. That was tough especially if you could not walk fast or run."

Cons: "There was hardly any service from the in-flight crew. I've had shorter flights where the crew comes regularly with water, at least. This crew did the least possible, it was worse than flying in the US on an American airline."
Cons: "I did not have a complete ticket until approximately 24-hours before departure and only after I called Airfare.com literally for weeks, and then finally told them I wanted to cancel. Then all legs of the trip were suddenly booked, but seats were not confirmed. I was charged a $450 cancellation fee despite the fact that they did not do their job because I was unable to trust anything they were doing, and subsequently booked my flight direct through Delta. Please keep in mind I purchased the ticket on July 3, 2016 and Airfare.com was unable to provide me a complete ticket until the night of August 16, 2016 with a August 17, 2016 departure date to China! I can honestly say this was the worst travel booking experience I've ever had."

Cons: "Crew was very rude. They spoke in Chinese even when I was speaking to them in English. My two luggages were left in China and was delivered to me two days later. No voucher was offered."
Cons: "Flight staff essentially refused to answer questions, particularly in english, aboutique how long we might be delayed, whether there would be another flight, where we should wait or go for more information. I and other passengers were ignited multiple times and even had conversations abruptly ended when the staff turned away after 2 or 3 questions to which we received incomplete and evasive responses."
