Cons: "I bought my ticket on kayak because on the search filter, it said 1 carry-on bag and 1 check-in bag but after the e-ticket was issued it said that it was a no luggage and no meal ticket. I had to pay excess in baggage fees ($100 AUD for 1 check in bag) and during the flight, all you get is coffee, tea or water. You have to pay for meals or soft drinks. I think if I bought on air New Zealand website, I would’ve gotten a better idea of all the fare types and pay a little bit more to get the proper amenities."

Pros: "We fly a lot and have flown American, European, Asian airlines but this has to be the best experienxe ever. First, their checkin is all automated, even baggage. That makes the lines really short. Their staff standing by to help at every moment. When we used another airline in Australia Jetstar, we waited in line for one hour and then were scolded for being late! We even had to pay for our water and the staff took turn scolding us over our overhead bin stuff. Boarding of NZ airline was so comfortable, without pushing or crowds. Staff always welcoming you with a smile. Seats are wide and we were given free drinks, free headohones, and wait for it.... free dinner! And all served so politey and in the most gracious manner as if we were their guests. We were so taken back by their service and this was the aecond time we have flown with them in 10 days. My young daughter thought may be their staff gets paid more so they seem to be so much more happy. I also think that there is something when you dehumanize your customers by charging them for water and being uncaring to their needs. The staff also starts to treat the customers as cattle. Besides Southwest Airlines, I havent come across one another airline where the staff treat their custmoers with reapect while charging them for water. So airlines, take note. I would pay $50 per ticket extra just to be in NZ airline."

While I understand kayak refer users to search airlines baggage fees it need to make sure that airlines offer true and baggage fees at the time of purchase so the full cost of flight is clear at purchase time."

Though it’s certainly not the airlines fault that there was an issue with a passenger, they should’ve been a lot more transparent and gave us a lot more information on what exactly was going on other then “we need to go back to a special area to get this passenger off.” Couple that with the security checks to “make sure there is nothing on the plane that shouldn’t be” and very little explanation of what actually occurred, it made for a very stressful flight. Not knowing if this passenger had made any kind of threat against the plane, or safety of other passengers... etc, it was very hard to feel safe for the remainder of my trip being left in the dark as the incident occurred in first class."

It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."

Cons: "Gluten-free food in particular needn't be milk/lactose or meat free, and needn't be based around those gluten-free breads (Qantas GF bread was better than some others but still not great). There are good gluten free noodles, and most of the NORMAL meals would be find as long as gratuitous adding of wheat products to sauces was avoided (there is no excuse for soysauce or cornflour containing gluten - wheat and flour are additives that should not be present in ANY product that isn't specifically a wheat product). If the Asian meals, curry and rice, etc. were made with care they would be GF and many (Australian) restaurants offer GF variants of their meals. Still don't understand why they didn't give me real butter or real milk... Should have announced explicitly that we needed to pick up and clear and recheck baggage (on same tag) before our domestic flight."

Cons: "Have always booked tickets and flown with my partner. Set alarm to check-in online exactly 24hrs prior to departure as usual and found my partner and I seated in different seats with no available seats to switch. How can this be on an aircraft this big? Thought we might be able to fix it at the counter next day, we headed to the airport early by 3hrs to sort it out. Maybe it was the end of a long day, our flight was close to midnight... Check-in lady was lovely and all smiles but it went downhill from here... No option to sit together and no offer of an upgrade at the counter or at boarding (we didn't ask). Duty-free collection instructions weren't clear prior to boarding ("board as you will and pick up after") and during boarding the staff member seemed over it ("pick up after boarding"). Wouldn't it be easier to advise over the PA so we don't have to ask or if we have to ask explain something along the lines of "you can collect your duty free from the cart after you scan you ticket, prior to boarding the aircraft". The worst part of our experience was the aircraft itself. The plane was obviously very old and tired. My partner's seat kept reclining and wouldn't stay upright (we didn't complain). Rows were so close together that you could smell the person in front's hair when they reclined their chair fully (which they did for the entirety of the flight) and your eyes feel cross-eyed it was so close. The entertainment system was old - we couldn't choose when to watch our movies and as movies aren't the same duration we missed out on a lot of the movies we did want to watch. Finally the selection of movies could've made up for this downfall but it was incredibly limited in selection for a long haul flight. Not sure if it was us but the flight crew also seemed tired and over it too. Luckily we had sleeping pills so we slept through much of the flight but what we did experience wasn't good at all. V disappointed."

Cons: "Terminal at LAX only allowed use of Admiral Club not Qantas lounge LAX international. 5 hr layover. No food. Poor facilities. 2 drink voucher. Not up to Qantas standard by a long shot. More importantly seats economy on American Airlines flight fro LAX to SYD very narrow and incredibly uncomfortable. Unable to rest comfortably to any degree or be able to have a meal when seat in front reclined and i am not a big guy. I fly often for work and also pay for Qantas club but this experience is making me think very differently about booking flights according to what the codeshare airline is. Dissapointed and not what I expect the standard of a Qantas codeshare airline to be."
Pros: "The Qantas service is generally good, and they do acknowledge Platinum members. Also the boarding delay was well advised."
Cons: "More the Dubai airport side, and the fact that the loung boarding arrangements are not intuitive."
Cons: "The attitude of the crew towards passengers with children. They made us wake up our sleeping child because she was on a blow up cushion that obstructed her leg space. Even though we explained it could be deflated in a single second and was not causing harm to anyone else they still made us move it. Also, they gave us a guilt trip for changing a peepee diaper in our seat (careful not to touch any seats) and wouldn't take the trash. As any parents knows, changing a diaper in an airline bathroom is one of the most unsanitary and awful things you can do with your young child due to the extreme lack of space. Airlines in general should make a "family bathroom" with more space for parents to change their kids."

Cons: "I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales.In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly."

Cons: "Jetstar's luggage policy is a scame. Their carry on allowance is very small and I was charged 60 dollars to check a bag I never have to check at the fair. When I landed they couldn't remove the bags because of a storm, so I had to wait extra time for bags I shouldn't have needed to check. They also charge exorbitantly for anything on the flights. I wanted a cup of water and they asked for 4 dollars for a mini bottle. If their rates were cheap this would have been understandable, but that's not the case."

I also don't mind not having food for free since we don't usually either. beverages would be nice, but since we were able to bring our own through security in Australia, it didn't bother me. Compared to most airlines in the US, it was great. Much more efficient as well. Even though we had to pay extra for luggage, there was tiered pricing by weight and it was still cheaper than most carriers in the US."

Cons: "I was not able to purchase baggage during the booking process even though the customer service rep told me that at-purchase is the cheapest time to purchase baggage. There was literally no option to purchase it during my purchase process (I scrutinized every step of the process since I had been burned re baggage prices on my previous JetStar flight). I paid more for baggage on this flight than the previous flight even tho I paid for a lower amount of kilos. I decided to drive for the next of my flags instead of fly Jetstar again. Over it."

Cons: "When we purchasing tickets through Kayak we were not informed that we would have to pay $25 per kilogram on our checked bags. These bags are normally roller wheel carry-ons, but we were not allowed to carry them on. The cost was $640! We were told only when we got to the counter (there are no electronic tickets or electronic check in.) we received a 'discount' and had to pay $360. The jet star agent admitted that she gets multiple complaints DAILY about these fees. Jet Star scams its customers. The reviews are poor precisely because of this. Avoid this airline."
Cons: "Paid for Qantas, but got Jetstar, which is at best deceptive and at worse bait and switch. The crew member weighing our carry ons and purses was snotty and bitterly sarcastic. Honestly I don't know how he got a customer-facing position when his best response is "you should know better" when we mentioned that we were under the impression that the carry on baggage limit didn't include purses. We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."

After about 15 minutes of basically saying she couldn't board the flight, another jet star person came over and quickly ingot Ed us that we could purchase a visa waiver on the spot for 750 baht. Problem solved and his mannerism were far more bright and cheerful. A smile goes a long way"

Cons: "We booked through Kayak and weren't told that when you book a flight with Jetstar, you get NO BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE. ZERO, ZIP, NIL. We didn't know this and assumed like other Australian and New Zealand carriers, we would each get one free bag, so I went online and paid $25 for a third bag. When we checked in for a domestic flight, we were told that we would have to pay $400 to send our luggage with us. THAT WAS MORE THAN WE PAID FOR OUR SEATS! We were also told that had we paid for our luggage ahead of time, it would have only been $60. Be very careful if you fly this airline. Make sure you know what is and what is not included with your ticket, especially if you use a third party to purchase your tickets. PS - All drinks (including coffee, tea, soda, etc.)are extra. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't charge for using the toilet in flight"

Cons: "Having my original direct flight cancelled and being rebooked with a stop before Sydney. Caused issues with having to go through customs then to recheck bags and transfer from an international terminal to a domestic terminal with a very minimal amount of time afforded between connections especially since the 1st leg landed late. The only compensation was a $50 discount on another flight which in all honesty is no compensation at all since I don't fly to Australia on a regular basis so not likely to be flying with Jetstar over the next 3 months. A comp meal would have been more appreciated for the disruption in my flight plans that caused me to get into my destination later then planned."

Cons: "I didn't like how people just rushed to get in front of the line and didn't wait for their row numbers to be called when boarding the plane. I understand that everyone wants the overhead compartment space, but it was just rude. Also, it is frustrating that the airline will nickel and dime you for everything. My suggestion is to make you sure you buy the Kilograms for your luggage before you get to the airport (if you are checking luggage in) or else you are going to be paying a hefty price to check your bags. Also you are only allowed 7 Kgs (15 lbs) for carry on luggage...if you go over that you will be charged. The seats were comfortable, but way too close together."
Pros: "The flight took off on time. Checking in was quick and easy and I received both boarding passes for my trip."
Cons: "My original flight was cancelled and I had to stay a day longer in Bali at my own expense to get a flight from DPS to Melbourne to Auckland. Because I had to change flights I did not receive my meal or entertainment which I had pre-paid when I booked. When the plane landed in Melbourne we had to wait for 40 mins to be let off the plane. People said there were prisoners on the flight that had to be de-planed first. Because of this delay I missed my connection to Auckland. I had to wait another 3 hours (midnight - 3.00am) for the next flight."

Pros: "I liked that Jetstar communicated with me and kept me informed about what was happening with my flights. I liked that the Jetstar staff in Sydney helped me to get a room for the night, the hotel people were helpful and friendly, the shuttle bus drivers were helpful and friendly. I liked that Qantas helped me transfer my Jetstar cancelled flight to QF148, so I was able to fly Auck to SYD. I did like that Jetstar provided free in-flight entertainment to all passengers after the flight form SYD - DPS was dallied 3 hours on departure."
Cons: "I didn't like that my Jetstar flight was cancelled and I missed my connecting flight to Denpasar. I didn't like that I lost a whole day of my holiday due to the flight cancellation, I missed my pick up transfer from DPS airport to my hotel in Ubud late at night, and I was not refunded my night's booked accomodation at my Ubud hotel. I didn't like that I had to go through immigration, pick up my baggage in SYD before I could get to the Jetstar counter to connect with my flight to DPS. because of this delay I missed my connecting flight. I did not like that My one day delayed connecting flight from SYD to DPS was delayed a further 3 hours departing from Sydney."
Cons: "Take off was delayed. Beware, since this is the last flight of the day, there's very little room for delays arriving in Sydney as all flights must land at Sydney Airport by 10:30pm. We were lucky that we just made the cut off"

Cons: "Passengers reclined seats well before seat belt sign was off and plane had barely taken off! I think clear instructions need to be communicated to prevent such behaviour. Seats were reclined throughout meal service, this is not the case on other airlines. Bag handlers took forever to commence delivering bags to conveyor. I was highly concerned I would miss my connecting flight."

Cons: "Crew were not aware I had a starter plus package which included a food voucher. This often happens with Jetstar and is annoying when you have paid for the extras. Also flight was delayed and I had to make a connecting flight. Would have been good if crew ensured people did not straggle when boarding with the appropriate announcements."
