Passengers waiting to board individually questioned why we had not started boarding yet when information screens in the airport displayed otherwise. We did not start boarding for a 12 hour international flight until ten minutes to scheduled take off. The first time we were informed about the delay as a group was after we had entered the aircraft."

When kayak directed me to VA, I made the purchase and certainly did not remember being offered a chance to purchase baggage fee as other airlines offer (e.g. BA). While I understand kayak refer users to search airlines baggage fees it need to make sure that airlines offer true and baggage fees at the time of purchase so the full cost of flight is clear at purchase time."

Cons: "Paid for business class so I could Relax and sleep on the 10+ hour flight. Unfortunately, I was in seat 1G which was adjacent to the galley and storage compartments for the flight crew. Literally, every 15 minutes, someone in the flight crew was bumping my seat/bed - and waking me up. Never once got an apology. So pissed off I paid extra for business class when I would've gotten more sleep in a middle seat in coach."

Shortly after we finally boarded I got a text saying our connecting flight from Christchurch to Dunedin was cancelled. So, we were flown to Christchurch & given hotel accommodations for the night, only to be flown BACK the next day to Wellington to catch a flight to Dunedin. All in all quite infuriating."

Pros: "The flight attendants were very helpful. One of our travelers got sick on the plane and, unfortunately, made a mess in one of the toilets. Without batting an eye, the crew took on the thankless task of cleanup. We noticed that the bulkheads had fixtures embedded in them to allow a small basinet to be attached to the bulkhead. One couple used it for their infant and it seemed to be a lifesaver. I don't know of any other airline that offers this."

We did fly on Air New Zealand from Auckland to Christchurch and the seats on that flight were what I would consider a "normal" width. Meals were served in a timely way but the food was just okay - nothing outstanding. But, we did fly coach/economy."

Cons: "I was booked on flight QF 74 from San Francisco, connecting in Sydney (3 hour connection) to Queenstown, New Zealand. When I went to check in I was told that I needed a transit visa for Australia because of my Indian Passport. When I booked the flight back in September, it was not a requirement to have a transit Visa. I was told by the Qantas supervisor that this was a new requirement as of October for Indian and Chinese passport holders even with brief connections. 9 people were in a similar situation the day before and denied boarding. I understand that things change, but I am very disappointed in the service provided to me. Of course, they could not help me get an evisa for Australia, but they were not even willing to help me search for it rebook a Qantas flight connecting in a different city/country. They did not even connect me with online reservations directly to quickly do something to be able to continue on my journey. They only gave me a phone number to call and sent me away. I tried the number and was on hold for almost an hour. Luckily, my friends were on a different flight on Air New Zealand that had seats leaving in 2 hours, and I almost missed that waiting to talk to someone from Qantas. I booked a ticket with Air New Zealand (by talking to their checkin agent, who was able to connect me directly with a reservations agent via a direct line, which was something I was hoping Qantas would help me with at a bare minimum) and I was able to purchase a ticket for that Air NZ flight and continue on. I’m VERY disappointed in the way that I was treated and not provided with assistance in a timely manner. I would have almost missed that flight and have to miss out on pre-arranged travel plans losing out on an additional $2000 in tour / accommodation bookings."

Nothing in any way healthy, nothing meat free. The service was however a very high standard, but the staff only had what they had to work with. This flight is always full, so I don't understand why Qantas does not fix this problem."

I wasn't able to check in online which was quite annoying. The crew from Melb-Dubai were fantastic. So friendly and talkative and I think one was called Jordan."

Eventually announced they definitely couldn't land in Queenstown and would divert. Spent an hour on the tarmac in Christchurch and finally announced it was cool enough to land in Queenstown. Arrived 7 hours after the booked arrival time, along with a further 2.5 hours drive home. Missed a planned social function. Never, ever again. Even if they offered free flights. NEVER."

Most airlines give you one checked bag for free, but whatever. $50 for two bags is not a huge deal. What I didn't know, and they didn't specify, is that was the online only price. When I got to the airport, they quoted me $225 for 2 bags! 225!! Both bags were around 40lbs each. Then they told us that if each bag weighed 6lbs less, the price would be $120. Let's just say our carryons ended up getting packed to the brim... And they still charged us $120. Ridiculous."

We were told by the Jetstar employee on the flight from from Auckland that there was no checked baggsge requested Not likely from our end because we had 8 flights in a 3 week period. We had our bags weighed at special services and was told we were limited to 15 kg for a checked bag. One bag supposedly weighed on that scale 17.6 kg but the same bag showed it weighed 13.9 kg when we checked it in. We were forced to pay $70 per bag for a total of $140. We need a refundnd immediately. Funny, on the return trip to Auckland our tickets showed 1 checked bag per passenger and we'were limited to 20 kg per bag on Jetstar. How can an airline operate this way. Your survey is ridiculous because you ask for ratings on nonapplicable items. ."

Even after checking in online we still had to wait in line to check in at the counter. This took ages since at least 5 or 6 other people were having issues with Jetstar, like us. The flight itself was cramped (I'm a shorter woman and had almost no leg room) and there were no complimentary drinks or snacks for our 4 hour flight. We opted for Jetstar because it's the cheapest option, but ended up having to pay more than we would have for a much nicer flight with another airline."

Cons: "Lower standards for no-frills airlines. Slow check-in at AKL, make sure you arrive 3 hours before departure time."

Cons: "No plan to get passengers from Christchurch to Queenstown except bus or rent car, 7 hour drive in middle of the night. Never ride on Jetstar, take a car it's faster."

Pros: "It was the smallest seat to seat depth I've ever experienced on a plane. No big deal to me, but that was the only thing that could be negative. Great price. I don't check bags, typically."

Pros: "Left & arrived on time -AKL to SYD."
Cons: "Not as low cost as advertised. Hidden costs: pay extra to pick a seat. Any seat. No luggage allowance, must pay extra for 1st checked bag. No complimentary drinks, must pay top price for coffee, water, juice. Airline coffee in paper cup. Credit card or debit only. Toilet use might be free... did not ch check."

Cons: "they charged $150 to check in a bag over 7 kg (15 lbs). the size of the bag was fine (20"), and if you fill such a bag with regular clothes, two pairs of shoes, and a toothbrush, you will easily hit 9-10 kg. so this airline expects you to travel with a 20" bag that is only partially filled, which is ridiculous."

Pros: "Frustrated by how late I was allowed to Check-in, then had to rush to the plane. Classic problem, but, why you don't pay for a budget flight."

Pros: "Great electronic boarding procedures, mobile app and website. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable agents at airports and on-board. Will definitely fly JetStar in the future and highly recommend this airline!"

Pros: "Flight was on time and staff were friendly."
Cons: "They lost our luggage and it took three days to catch up to us. Very frustrating. The luggage was checked because they claimed our carryon luggage was too heavy. Seemed like a money grab to us."

Pros: "Flight canceled. Fiji airways told us we would be booked on Qantas instead but the flight wouldn't give us time to make the connection. Ended up flying later,, longer and much more uncomfortable than expected. Had to take separate seats from family and middle seats, had to spend entire day in Sydney which required us to spend money on a visa and money to eat, had additional stress of then arriving too late and needing to rebook rental car and arranged hotel and make sure elederly parents with special needs were ok health wise. An overall disaster. Never ever a worse experience and I am a world traveler to 68 countries on 6 continents. Will be asking Fiji for full refund plus compensation for having to buy visas and spend day in Sydney."

Pros: "Nothing - terrible service."
Cons: "All they cared about was charging us for our carryon. They lost my luggage and I missed my meetings in Sydney. Nobody to complain to they have no staff in Sydney. They also tagged my luggage to the wrong passenger and it was an ordeal to get it back once they found it. Talk about a security breach !! Never fly them again !!! Will be sending info to media!! Paid $320 for extra baggage fees coming from an Air Canada business flight ticket with carry-on - they didn't care!! Kelta at ck in only cared about charging us and when I told her to put the bags in my name she said don't tell me how to do my job I know - and then bag is in another person's name and he had to leave asap in Sydney and it was an ordeal to get report done!! They charge for coffee on board and flight attendants were also rude!! Where is the customer service? Terrible !!"
