Pros: "I checked in online and wasn't able to add my bags to my reservation, so figured I would do it when I got to the airport. Big mistake. It cost me NZ$ 215 to heck my two bags (one was admittedly heavy, but that is still an insane amount). I knew I would have to pay for bags but more money because of something that I was unable to adress is absurd."
Pros: "Cheap flight and I felt baggage weight prices were reasonable separate. If you plan any baggage, I suggest considering buying the max up front. It's much cheaper that way and gives you flexibility since it's by weight and not bag count. Second best is anytime prior to airport. If you are overweight at the airport, you're doing it wrong. Bring your own food (I like Subway), water container, and entertainment for minimum discomfort. I would fly them again."
Cons: "Boarding in Melbourne was a mess. They would not let passengers use the gate seating so most people stood in a stupid diagonal line and blocked the terminal walkway until boarding. Also, water from a flight attendant was not free. If you fly on a 787, please go to the back of the cabin and fill a cup/bottle there. Lastly, on flight food seemed meh and overpriced."
Pros: "They are very unclear about baggage fees and we had to pay at the counter. 2 bags $300. Really!!!"

Cons: "We were SHOCKED to learn that we could not purchase additional baggage weight allowance online (were not allowed to check in online), and when we got to the counter to check in, were told that each additional kilogram of baggage weight over 20kilos (per person) would cost us $25!!! This is outrageous. We are traveling in Australia/NZ for 23 days with golf clubs and many bags, spending lots of money in these countries, and were very upset to learn of this archaic policy."
Cons: "The flight was an hour late and then we waited on the plane while they unloaded all the cargo bins to find three golfers bags who evidently did not make the flight. That extra time made us miss our connecting flight to the US. We spent almost 3 hours in the Sydney airport getting the run around on what we were supposed to do. When we checked in Queenstown for our flight the person at the desk must have know we would not make our flight as she did not give us a boarding pass for the Sydney to the US flight, but gave no directions on what to do if it was missed. I mentioned our connecting flight and the close connection to the flight attendant and she said it was not their fault."
Pros: "Check in was quick, but our flight was delayed. We received an email notification which helped. Of course we wish the flight wasn't delayed but having an extra hour in queenstown is amazing."

Cons: "It was very discouraging having to pay almost as much as our flight for our small checked baggage - and it was confusing regarding how much we had to pay, I still don't understand what it was we actually paid for. There was not clear indication about this policy when I purchased the ticket, and we were traveling without internet access and unable to add a bag to our booking before hand. I've flown hundreds of times and never encountered this kind of fee. This frustration alone will likely lead me to choose another company next time."
Pros: "Before purchasing tickets, i confirmed with Jetstar agent that i could purchase bag fees anytime before the flight. I was even quoted a price. 3 weeks before my flight i went on to prepay for 1 piece of luggage and they wouldn't honor the quoted price. I had to pay almost double! BEWARE of luggage fees!"

Cons: "Check in process is extremely slow with long lines. You are not able to check bags and are charged significant amounts to check in which cost even higher if you do it at the airport. Anything other Jen water is charged while on the flight."

Cons: "The plane was over 2.5 hours late with no explanation. Coffee and tea were not free on this 9 hour flight on the morning rounds - one would sethink you back 4 whole dollars! The lady laughed at my flabbergasted face whend my jaw dropped and I said I couldn't afford that for water and a tea packet. Absolutely no value for cost, and beyond disappointing. I will spend whatever it takes to never use this airline again."

Cons: "Baggage charge was not clearly indicated when I booked flight. I thought I got 15 kg free and when I arrived at the airport they told me it would be $287! I ended up paying $87 which was ridiculous"

Cons: "Food and drinks need to be purchased ahead of time. Attendants do not even come through to see if you'd like to buy food or drinks during the flight."

Pros: "You pay for everything extra (like most budget airlines), but the entertainment package well worth it, and Sumo salads/toasties on the menu very tasty. People who complain about luggage restrictions should be aware international travel is much more strict, and will not "look the other way" as American airlines do. Do your research, people!"
Cons: "Not notified about US requirements to fill out back of ticket, so got pulled aside at the gate to do it. Passengers included large group of obnoxious children who ran up and down aisles, chattered loudly, and disturbed other passengers. Adults who were traveling with them did nothing (if you see a group with huge bows in their hair, avoid at all costs), so flight attendants should be better about enforcing rules and keeping order."
Pros: "I liked that I had 3 seats across and that generally no one bothered me during the flight. The return journey was very reasonable if you didn't need or want to add on many / any extras"
Cons: "Plane was quite dirty. I guess they save on cleaning and cabin staff minimally attending to passengers. Water was help yourself but at least it made you get up and go for a walk to get it"

I see from others complaining about baggage charges etc. Folks: when you are getting such a good deal on the fare, travel light and bring your own food if you want to save money, otherwise pay up or fly at a much higher fare on another airline."
Cons: "No options for check in baggage when I purchased the ticket online, so baggage cost me $260 at check-in. Agents at the desk were extremely indifferent and borderline rude, overall extremely unhelpful. Airplane interior was dingy, seat cushions were worn down and flat, extremely limited leg space (I cannot stress enough how inadequate the leg space was), no entertainment. No complimentary drinks, not even water."

Cons: "The flight was delayed two hours but I didn't get this information until after check in. I know the airline doesn't always know ahead of time so it's not a big deal, but if the option was available to notify passengers in advance, that would have been nice."

I traveled with carry on only because I am a budget traveler- I basically traveled to Brisbane from Honolulu for what would be the tax on other overseas fights I have taken.."
