They gave her a toy, asked for her name, and checked on us often. They also gave my husband and I an option for early food service so that one of us could help our daughter eat. The movie selection was great. Take off, flight and landing were smooth. And we arrive half an hour early both directions!"

I got an aisle seat to have a little extra room (I'm 6'1") only to get hit big time by the food cart (they did apologize). The food was plentiful, but mediocre at best. The flight attendants were working hard, but we're abrupt and tired. Overall, I have three stars, when in the past, flying SA was always a five star experience. It got me back home though. :)"

Cons: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

I had to find out how to get out of Berlin. I had to fly to Spain to my cousin’s home because I haf no where to go and did not have money to pay for another flight from Berlin to LAX 1,200 euros. I am still in Europe stuck and it is Monday 4/30. My son needs me in Los Angeles! I will never use Kayak again. What happened to my $878 dollars????"

Maybe that’s due to the enhanced entertainment and power outlets so can’t say it’s a complete negative."

In order to avoid an awkward 12 hour flight, I agreed to change my bigger seat for a smaller seat. I felt disappointment that Air New Zealand separates parties and leaves room for uncomfortable situations. I really did not know what to do in this scenario, I paid for that seat but was in a way forced to give it a away without any refund in order to avoid 12 hours seating with some stranger's wife."

Pros: "Handsome, kind and efficient crew. Good amount of space in and around my seat. I was not cramped, although I was in the economy section. The plane interior was indeed nice. Power outlets (both USB and 110V DC) in my seat (I assume then, every seat had that). I fly few times a year between the West Coast and Europe and my overall flight experience on this flight I think was the best one I've seen in years. Food, quality and selection was good. Nice wines in economy. Sufficient number of clean, sufficiently roomy and well stocked toilets. The fare rate I was able to get was outstanding and contributed to the overall satisfaction. Even my neighbor, in the seat next to me was very polite, quiet and pleasure to travel with (though here New Zealand Air perhaps had less of an influence)."

Not once did they offer me s glass of water other than the little cups that came with the meal, nor did they come through the cabin to pick up trash. By the end of the flight the waste paper places in the bathrooms were overflowing at least in the bathroom I used."

For the people reading this review who might think my kid would have been messy or cranky on the flight so we were treated this way, that was not the case, she not even cried once or made a mess. Same as my previous flight with crew, Crew were so late in responses, my wife actually walked to their place 2 times to get milk for the baby. Also she was not served food at all when they served breakfast. We requested Hindu meal and I was served hindu meal and she was missed and when they served lunch she was told she has not requested prior to the flight and can only be served a regular meal, which she gladly accepted. Kid was not served any food again, so we gave her solid from our meal. When we requested some food for the baby she was given a banana baby food(Kid did not even eat it). Taste of the food was edible(Not great). Overall do not fly emirates with a kid"

As the crew members went around aking if you want Tea or Coffee, I said I wanted coffee. The coffee was cold so I couldn't even drink it, i know I can ask for another one but I felt so disappointed that I'd rather have nothing. My monitor had lots of weird lines on them as the colors were so off on some areas and good on other areas."

Cons: "They did not have special meals that I ordered but the crew tried their best to make it up. But they had the same collection of movies both ways. My return flight was a month later. Entertainment set of was pretty good on their Boeing 777-300Er flight, but average on the A380-800. The 16 hour flight will not be pleasant for most. Why the toilets are so compact? I would pay extra for bit more room. This is a problem with all airlines. They allowed me to take a laptop and a hand baggage in LAX but forced me to check in the hand bag in Dubai. They pick random passengers for this. Irritating."
Pros: "The AC was leaking on the seat and the crew made. Me to sit on the wet seat during Landing!! and tons of cold water dripped on me during taxing making me sick"
Cons: "The screen blacked out mid flight (on a 16 hr long flight!) and there was nothing anyone really tried to do to fix it except 'reset' which did nothing. Unfortunate this happened when the flight was so long."
Pros: "They canceled our flight because they were over booked ,we had to stay overnight , overall very unhappy with the airline , they forced us to purchase new tickets , will take legal action against the airline"
Pros: "The best economy seating out there. Emirates still makes you feel like a person even though you are in economy. Unlike other airlines Emirates flight crew treats you very well, they are polite, the food is good and the seating is very comfortable. It makes a 16 hour flight pleasureable. Thank you Emirates!!!"

Cons: "The seat was terribly uncomfortable. The seat bottom has a ridge that digs into your rear. This was on both 380 flights and I tried three seats in total. After a couple of hours is when the pain starts. If the seat back was moved forward, you would not sit on this edge. Please fix. Not sure I could fly on a 380 again for this duration."

I also enjoy being advised by the flight crew of any impending turbulence before we encounter. Emirates has always provided me an excellent flying experience despite my fears of long distance traveling."

Pros: "Your staff are amazing....very welcoming, attentive and a joy to be around. I was comfortable i.e leg room was right for my long legs."
Cons: "You offer limited choices on food with consideration to Diversity of your clientelle. Your meal vouchers offer substandard meals in the few selected restaurants. I had layover period of 10hrs on.my return leg and about 6/7hrs. These are extremely long hours to sleep on those uncomfortable lounge chairs. This was the worst experience in my flying time."

Cons: "Several of the flight attendants were rude. The food was not good. I should have known since the flight attendant serving me had not tried any of the options and couldn't recommend any to me. The plane does not have enough bathrooms for the number of passengers."
Pros: "Liked the food, flight attendants, entertainment and overall comfort even though it's just economy. You just have to come prepared with what you need to stay entertained and comfortable ie snacks, comfortable clothes and shoes, jacket or sweater, pillow, headphones, music. Better of you can bring your own headphones that use bluetooth and headphone jack cable."
Cons: "Boarding process is chaotic at best and starts 20 minutes before take off. It works but it's very chaotic for economy passengers. I am sure it's much easier and nicer for premium economy and business select and first class passengers so you get what you pay for lol."

Pros: "The plane itself was nice and comfortable for me. The business class seat fully laid down, and there were lots of entertainment options. The flight was quick! 15hr flight from Melbourne to LAX only took 13 hours!"
Cons: "Several of the food items were either cold or overdone. I asked hostess what the deal was (because their food service is usually great) and she explained that in this new plane (Boeing 787) they removed a lot of the working areas for the crew. They have less space to work in order to be able to prepare food and drinks compared to Qantas's other planes (Airbus A380). This is also a brand new plane for this crew (literally the first flight for some for some of them), and they didn't know where some of the things on the plane were. I imagine after they've used the plane for a while and learn where everything is, they'll get better. I'll find out on the return flight back to Melbourne."
Pros: "The way your seats reclined: back/head your typical recline but add your seats bottom sliding forward. Best sleep I have ever had while in International economy. Sadly our plane to Australia from Los Angeles did not have the same seats. Entertainment selection excellent ! Great line up of brand new and older movies. I was able to use my noise cancelling headphones in your jack which was a big plus."
Cons: "Paying an extra $30-35 just to choose a seat. Enjoyed sitting in the back of the plane however meal selection was terrible as the front of the plane always fed first so by the one it was our turn there was only one option - terrible “southern chicken” Or the Greek Inlet Which was just ok."

Cons: "It is frustrating that most airlines never leave on time anymore. They should be required to pay each passenger $50 for every 15 minutes they are late. It's also terrible that seats have become so cramped. My biggest fear is to drop something at my feet because then I can never reach it. Sigh."

During boarding I was profiled by one of your gate agents and "selected for further screening" ... not fun. No explanations, just surly, inattentive agents performing further checks on items that had already been twice-checked at security. Awful service."
Pros: "Overall a great plane- we were on the 380 going to lax and then we switched to a really old plane. There was a delay of 3 hours from lax which was very annoying."

Cons: "The plane was filthy. My seat was sticky and covered in what appeared to be food of some sort. Flight attendant wiped it off, but it wasn't clean by any means. The seat belts were twisted and had food and crud stuck to them. When I changed my clothes the next day, there was food and stains on my black pants from where I sat on the dirty seats."

Pros: "Great selection of movies, i liked that the economy cabin at the back of the top floor of the a380 was more personal than a larger economy cabin. Crew were happy to serve me drinks throughout the flight after the halfway point when i started drinking"

Cons: "Was seated in the center section and after getting settled and buckled in I kept smelling vomit and realized the seatbelt had dried vomit all over it. I couldn't get the flight attendant to help and finally got their attention and was told they couldn't do anything until after we were in the air. I was moved away from my family to another center seat. The flight had many open seats and we should have been kept together."

Pros: "The in-flight entertainment was packed full of recent big movies. I was travelling with my partner on separate tickets due to us having different final destinations. The Qantas staff was able to re-arrange our seats together for the long flight over the Pacific. We also got to celebrate New Year's twice, since we crossed the International Dateline."
Cons: "I was not a fan of the A380 prior to my flight, and was even less of a fan after. The boarding in Melbourne was chaotic- for some unexplained reason, Qantas felt the need to quarantine the seating area around the gate. This led to a minor stampede as all 5,000 passengers thought the flight was boarding. The Qantas staff at Melbourne, from the check-in desks, to the boarding crew were all apparently over-whelmed. It wasn't any better upon arrival at LAX- the baggage area was chaos as our arrival apparently caught the LAX baggage handlers by surprise. I had a four-hour layover in LAX, yet still managed to miss my connecting flight after an excessive delay getting our checked bags, the line through customs, and rechecking in through the TSA - and that was WITH an expedited screening pass."

By the time the meal cart came to ou row, all the got meals was out and we have no choice and was served with the cold ham salad that looks like left overs, both my son and I lost our appetite looking at it. The crew didn't apologize and gave the impression that we either take it or too bad. Won't be recommending this airline."

When the people in front of us layed their seats down we could not even move and when meals were served the flight attendants had to ask the passengers in front of us to please put their seats up so that they could serve us food. Then when the service was over the people layed their seats right down...they were literally in our laps."

Window screens left up during flight omitting sun glare making It hard to sleep. been making the LAX to Brisbane or Sydney flight to 8 years now, Qantas has progressively got worse while Virgin customer service remains as a high standard. Looks like sales on Qantas will no longer entice me, I'll be sticking with virgin"

Pros: "I had an episode of anxiety over very minor turbulence which I sometimes get and both ladies who happened to be on duty were very reassuring and sympathetic to me. I had my 6 year old daughter also on the plane who is not anxious at all, so I was able to speak to one of the staff in French so as not to transfer my anxiety to my daughter who doesn't understand French. This was great. Over half way through the flight they gave me some earphones and suggested I watch a movie. This helped so much."

I have travelled quite a bit both Stateside and overseas and can tell you that AC does not come up to the standard set by Qantas or Southwest here in the States."
Cons: "It felt as if the seats were even closer together than on the flight out. It was tight! It was the second leg of a flight from Taiwan and having experienced the extraordinary politeness and courtesy of the Taiwanese it came as a rude shock when the hefty AC (female) attendant banged the back of my seat, exhorting us with a "Would you guys get your seat backs up straight for meal service". The tea was pretty grim too and I suspected it had been made in a coffee pot."

Cons: "I hated how there was NO entertainment. Honestly on a 12 + hour flight this was a bit ridiculous. No tv, or movies... no screen on the seat at all. Not even a big one for everyone to enjoy! It was horrible... The seats were so cramped and the staff seemed a bit unprofessional and sloppy looking. The food was pretty bad as well. I've had my fair share amount of flights and honestly this was probably the worse one i've gone on with the amount of hours it took to get to our destination. I wouldn't have mind too much if there was no entertainment on a 2 or 3 hour flight..."
Pros: "A woman in Toronto at the customs area for air Canada helped us get seats when we didn't realize we were on standby. She was very kind and helpful!"
Pros: "Late departure due to an incompetent airport crew (the guys who fuel the plane) . The pilot keep us well informed about the delay. Since we left Vancouver late, we arrived late and had to sit on the runway for 30 minutes until we could get a gate at LAX. Again the pilot keep us informed and apologized for the inconvenience, The staff was very friendly."

On the flight LAX to Vancouver due to late arrival of the plane, on the return flight supposedly because of a delay in loading luggage (the flight was fully boarded for 30+minutes before loading was completed). The late arrival in Los Angeles led to further delay as there was no available gate to accept us so we disembarked 50+minutes after the scheduled time."

Cons: "Overall, this flight service from Montreal for Los Angeles (6 hrs flight) service was worse than the interconnection flight I have experienced in Europe (2 hrs flight). There is no snack provided on this journey and you have to pay for everything (snacks and even the headphones). On the European flights, the snack was provided multiple times for short duration of the flight."

Pros: "This was the absolute worst experience of my life. Out flight from Calgary to LAX was on the complete other side of the airport than our connector to San Diego. After a delay we had a short amount of time to get to the next flight. We literally were told to just cross the parking lot. Well... that ended up being a 25 minute run across the airport to only have to go thru security again. After navigating construction and parking structures we got to our gate 10 minutes late and would not be let on the flight. There was zero communication, sympathy or help from the United Airlines staff. We were told it was not their problem because we came in through Air Canada- BUT we booked through United! All in all it was an absolute nightmare that ended in us renting a car at 12am and driving back to San Diego with zero compensation from United Airlines"

I have been waiting in line for 3 hours to know what they are going to do to fix it and i'm still waiting.... i have flown with them before and it was fine but this is just ridiculous."

I bought headphones just to drown out his life story."
Cons: "Air Canada failed to transfer my bag from flight 1 to connecting flight 2. This not only happened to me but to other people traveling on the same connecting flight as well. My bag was delivered later then the promised time, it was also returned damaged. It is now almost one week since I have taken my flight and I am unable to process a claim because they have not updated my file via their Bag Tracer program. It is clear that they still have a lot of work to do to be considered a real commercial air line company"
Cons: "Had to pay for seat assignments when reservation made or no seat reservations. Not true on all airlines. Delta let us pick seats for free when the reservation was made. Husband had wanted a window seat and ended up with a middle seat. No free snacks just drinks"

Cons: "Checking in was terrible there and back. On the way to vancouver we showed up 2 hours early but the computers went out about 20 minutes after we arrived and stayed off till after our flight. No apologies, no responsibilities taken. That day was part of our small vacation. We got put on standby for the next flight 7 hours later. My family layed around the terminal without 100% surety that we'd get the next flight. We did but they split us up. I switched seats with someone and we all sat in the very rear seat of the plane, which was hard on my long legs and just added to a terrible experience. Ruined a whole day of vacation. Coming back the check in was just rudeness. A stark difference from the flight itself."

Cons: "From LA to Toronto & Montreal back to LA, was a 4-6 hr flight where they don't feed you or give you blankets. When I asked why blankets are not available, the crew said, "because that's all what we'll be doing is handing out blanket." The crew should realize that providing comfort for their passengers is a huge part of their service they should provide. This was my first time flying with air canada and I was very disappointed. Air Canada will definitely not be on my top airlines to fly next time."

Cons: "They changed our gate three times and boarding was inefficient (it took them almost an hour to load a small plane) and led to a late takeoff. The customs process was ridiculous. Crew did not seem to care. No food was provided on a 6 hour flight that boarded at 6pm. Most people would not have thought that they needed to eat dinner before the flight. You had the option of purchasing snacks. The people in the rear of the plan did not receive the honor of buying snacks (or even getting a cup of water) until 3 or 4 hours into the flight. Uncomfortable seats. Avoid Air Canada until they get their act together or they lower their prices to reflect their new status as a discount airline."
