Cons: "Even though i was booked on Air NZ, the flight was operated through Virgin Australia. This was only an issue when i tried to check in at Air NZ and was directed over to Virgin Australia. Once i found the right ticket counter to check in, i found that there was an extra baggage fee of NZ$130 that i had to pay to check my bag. Also, dinner seemed to be included for just about everyone sitting around me, and it was not included for me. I don't remember having the option of booking dinner with my flight. The agent at the Virgin Australia counter mentioned that this often happens when booking flights through the websites that are not the carrier's direct website. I have used others before, and not had these same issues... oh well - i guess that's what i get for booking through FlightNetwork.com. I'll probably go directly to airline websites in the future."

Pros: "I flew round trip on their flagship Airbus 380 from Toronto to Dubai, about 13-14 hours. Crew was great, plenty of food and drinks, about 3x meals, lost track of how many drink runs, maybe 5x. It was almost too much food & drink! The in-flight entertainment was great, touch screen was fantastic, USB port, even power outlet, on back of seat, plenty of entertainment choices from movies, to video games, to trivia, I even got a kick out of all the camera's mounted on the outside of the plane with all the flight tracking details available on screen, plenty of bathrooms. Its such a big plane it didn't even feel like you are flying. I'm 6'4" so I always choose an aisle seat so i can at least stretch one leg out, the crew was even mindful not to bump my elbow or even my leg when it was extended out into the aisle while i was asleep...which was more than accommodating to something I shouldn't have been doing! Overall Excellent, I wish every airline was like Emirates. They're bringing back the old school service and class airlines used to be like. I know people don't dress up while they air travel anymore, but I'll be dressing up the next time I fly Emirates! ;)"

Why not give strollers at gate just like all other airlines! I was prepared and had the double stroller with me! Never again on Emirates with kids!"

Needless to say I was very confused and more than a little ticked with the inconsistent behaviour. Things didn't get any better when they defended their approach instead of simply acknowledging the problem."

Cons: "Delayed from boarding at 1 am until 5 am when they finally announced it was cancelled. They made announcement updates every 10 minutes meaning that people had to be constantly alert to see if anything changed in the next 10 minutes. When the flight was cancelled, the employees could not offer any information about how to get ticket prices refunded, or how to get to the destination. They could not even connect passengers to the managers because the managers are in Hong Kong. The number they gave out to passengers for customer services could not be reached because this it is an international number. People had to miss connecting flights, meetings, important appointments, and are still trying to figure out how to get refunded for an expensive flight. Terrible experience and customer service."

There was a teenage girl seated next to me and she requested the crew for some water and the hostess told her to wait till they served drinks which she said will take 5 mins. It was after 18 mins that the girl next to me finally got water. Seriously, you can't afford to give a glass of water , it's not like she was asking for coffee or some soft drink, its water ...and when we flew Korean and EVA airlines, they had a small bottle of water available on the seat when we boarded. Then my next row family asked for coffee and after a few minutes the fellow passengers wife decided to have some tea. So the husband called in the hostess and the hostess very rudely said , now you want both coffee and team , next time please let me know at the same time. Then when they served me my special meal, there was no butter in the meal tray, so I patiently waited for them to serve others and when they reached my row, I very nicely asked if I may have some butter...the hostess said, we don't have any butter. I was like...speechless. No butter, no water...and Cathay is a top class airline , HOW is it possible ? And the other crew was ok, this was one crew member a female and her name started from J , don't remember her full name. She was the laziest ever crew member I have ever seen and I am pretty sure she did not like her job. Cathay did not provide any tooth brush or mouth wash. No socks, slippers , eye patch...nothing. While flying to HKG from Toronto, I did not opt for special meal and the meal was just HORRIBLE. It was some beef and I couldn't even cut it with a knife. I think Korean Air is more or less the same as Cathay but in my opinion Korean is much better than Cathay. Cathay is only good for Business/First class. I seriously recommend EVA airlines and if not then Korean but if you are flying economy then stay away from Cathay."

Cons: "The food options are not cognizant of the fact that there are people who do not eat pork or pork products. After boarding, departure was delayed by one hour. The Hong Kong - Toronto flight is a very long flight as it is and to add an extra hour to this is quite tedious."

Cons: "My biggest concern was the staff. I found them to be rude and they didn't try to make my experience better when I complained. The person in front of me kept their seat reclined and it squashed my legs for the majority of the flight making my 12+ hour flight very uncomfortable. I complained early in the flight to the crew, but they brushed me off and told me it was that passengers right to do so. With 5 hours left in the flight, the person sitting beside me complained about the same thing and the crew member apologized and immediately had the person in front of her pull her chair up. The only reason I could think of was that my neighbour complained in mandarin and I only spoke English. Made me feel really aweful. Other things that were out of cathays control included too many screaming babies, and a very rude and inconsiderate couple who sat in front of me."

Pros: "The self check-in service was a breeze if it was open just a day earlier that would have been the best. The in flight comfort and service was as expected and without complaint. Even with a full flight going there was enough space I'm the overheads to store the carry-on which is really nice."

People were being made to throw items from their carry one away to be allowed to board. It was so stressful, I felt that experience ruined the entire flight."

No one really knew what they were doing and they wanted to put her in an adult wheelchair in spite of my identifying safety issues. My daughter was scared and upset. Epic failure on AA’s part. So unless you want to clean up my diarrhea in your toilets, I suggest you start giving options. It's not like milk is a scarce delicacy in the US. How is it that other airlines offer both milk and cream, but I get told by your staff, rudely, that half and half "is milk" and that it's all you have? Unbelievable. I hate to be a b*** but honestly this isn't the first time that I got treated like this on AA. I always seem to have a horrible experience with this airline."
