Pros: "This is my third time flying with Virgin Australia from LAX to Sydney return. I LOVE this airline. The staff at every point are friendly, responsive, professional and helpful. I loved the service on board. Nothing seems to be too difficult (this was refreshing as I have flown on many flights throughout Asia and America where the service ethic was not strong. Experiencing airlines such as Qantas, United, Asiana, China Eastern, British Airways, Southwest Airlines and many more). Food was good. My kids loved the snacks; chips, Weiss mango icecream, apples, Hawaiin chips etc. A big shout out for the friendly airline. Keep up the great service."

Pros: "This review is less about the actual flight and more about the lengths to which Virgin Australia went to get us to our destination as quickly as possible. Cyclone Gita made landfall the night before we were supposed to depart from Wellington on through to Phoenix, Arizona. Our first flight was canceled because of the storm, and we used the travel agency to get on the next flight out. Then that flight got significantly delayed, which would cause us to miss our connections. We spent time talking to the booking agents at VA and, although they were helpful, said that they could not rebook subsequent segments as it was all booked together. We decided that we would just get on the delayed flight and then have them rebook us once we got to our destination. However, later that same day I got a call from VA, and they informed me that they had kept us on the delayed flight but re-booked the following segments to get us to our final destination as soon as possible. This involved an overnight stay in Australia, which we not only did not have to pay for, but were also given $50 vouchers (per person) to eat at the hotel restaurant, a cab voucher to get there, and specific instructions about how to catch our next flight. I was quite prepared to have a very hectic journey home, but with their level of service they basically turned a stressful delay into an extra night of vacation. I am very pleased with how they handled our situation, as the problems were weather-related and out of their control."

Cons: "I didn’t like that when I purchased the tickets it gave me no option to add bags to my ticket. My itinerary that was emailed to me didn’t even say anything about paying for the bags before I got there. I got a huge shock when I was first in line and I was told I would have to pay 370 dollars for both my bags. I was livid and quite frankly don’t want to fly or book with virgin ever again. That couldn’t even help me out with anything so overall I’m upset and will never fly with you Virgin. I will also let it be known about this. I’m just a young traveler traveling for education and I get stuck with this bill to where I shouldn’t even go because I spent so much money just for my bags :("
