Hawaiian Airlines do not offer any meals for plant-based (aka vegan) diets. They have vegetarian, but that is not acceptable for vegans. I spent 8 years living abroad. Many foreign carriers allow you to go online and manage your meals prior to your flight; vegan, kosher, low salt, Hindu, gluten free, etc. Business Class experience was much less than other airlines we've flown. Airbus aircraft are always seem on the "cheap" side to me."
Cons: "Every time i try to use the hawaiiain air app it may work at home then when I switch networks on my iphone i get the blue page in the app saying "The page cannot be displayed". The few times i've flown with hawaiian (3 this year) each time i try to use the app at the airport it fails, so i have to print out my boarding pass. The ios hawaiian app is not even an app, it's like a slimmed down browser just displaying a web page formatted for a smartphone screen size. What a poor excuse of an app. Do you have an application department devoted to maintaining this app? If so they are horrible. Go look at the ios reviews of the app, i'm not the only one. I can't wait for more competition to come to hawaii against your flights. You folks won't do a thing until some alternative airlines come down."

Pros: "TSA is rediculous and affects how people interact with your customer servce. Your customer service in Honolulu needs a lot of work. Pointing people to a single counter person to obtain a seat on a plane after the person has already been on a 9 hour Hawaiian flight is beyond disrespectful. It is cruel. It was close to a couple of months that I had purchased the ticket and I get on the Plane in Auckland only to find I would need to process through TSA yet another time in order to get to the counter and obtain my seat. 3 hours in a TSA line allowed 20 minutes to get to that counter. I also needed to find a private space to give myself my insulin. I do not do that in public bathrooms or even my own bathroom..... but it never happened because I stood in Customs line and then Imigration line and yet again the third TSA line. I think TSA held up over 200 of us because they went to lunch. He were stopped still with absolutely no progress for over an hour."
Cons: "You and all the other airlines need to work together and improve TSA. The counter person at Hawaiian in Honolulu was unprofessional and capricious. She preferred to service a huge dog rather than myself, even though it was my turn . She also answered a male who cut in line rather than the person next in line. She did not know what was available and did not show any compassion for international travelers. We were treated as cattle."

Because it is such a long flight it would be much more enjoyable to have the option for at least a complimentary TV station and/or movies and shows. Delta has that option and it truly makes the experience significantly more enjoyable. I really enjoy flying with Hawaiian Airlines and if this detail is fixed I know I would enjoy it that much more."

Leaving and reentering our seats were extremely difficult due to the very tight space created by the reclined seats in front of us. Reading was made difficult as shadows were cast over our books by the reclined seats. Napping was rendered very difficult due to the uncomfortable seats. On our trip to Oahu we were served meatless meals. The trip to New York City fortunately did include some meat. However, all meals and snacks were of micro-portions."

I paid to check my bag through to Honolulu but for some reason, it was put in to the baggage claim on my layover in Vegas. I had to retrieve my bag and carry it with me all night in Vegas. I paid to check the bag to avoid this in the first place! Nobody could explain why my bag was diverted to baggage claim. Also, I was told that I wasn't eligible for a refund. Is this true? Also, I had to go through security AGAIN in Vegas at 2:30 in the morning when the rest of the airport was closed. Ruiners of travel!"
