Quantas delays in Melbourne wiped that out forcing me to pay $500 NZD for a later flight on Air NZ. After contacting with Air NZ customer service and explaining the circumstances, they reduced it to $100 NZD. Pretty cool. Quantas basically said that since I had purchased a rock bottom priced ticket I should take a flying you know what at a rolling donut."

Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."

We could not check in online, and it wasn't even possible to choose a seat before you got to the airport unless you wanted to pay a premium for it. To make matters worse, there is no transparency in the process; we had no idea what seats they were assigning us, or even whether the three of us would be able to sit together. And when we showed up at the airport, the last leg of my flight had been deleted from my itinerary (but not that of my family members). And guess what? They couldn't do anything about it until I was ready to get on that last flight! The crew were great, but all the behind-the-scenes aspects of Qantas were absolutely horrible. Two days later I'm still reeling from the experience. What a terrible way to treat customers."

While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

the worst trip ever, never flight again with american

Worst experience ever. My carry on was checked in and I had to carry all my electronics (laptop, etc) as if I was lost. No food. No proper AC. It was clearly stated that I have a carry on that I could bring with me and I wasn't allowed a carry on upon boarding. I flew many airlines (International and domestic airlines) and this by far is the worst experience I've had.

I arrived home later than I expected.....This is not the first time that the United baggage was so slow. This needs to be an improvement area."

Pros: "The crew was amazing. I was traveling alone with an infant and since the flight wasn't full, the ticketing agent moved seats around and gave me an entire row! It was so nice to have the extra space with all my things and to get up freely when needing to change my sons diaper. There was also a changing table in the bathroom which was much needed."
Cons: "Upgraded to first class the trip to was great the return was terrible even the first class seating was old and uncomfortable then my bag was not at my final location (direct flight) was told it wouldn't scan!? Same bag used numerous times then I was told I'd have it the next day by noon call at 2 pm and it says it's on its way them receive a call at 430 pm saying he just left the airport wtf?! Just over all very bad service and didn't get a damn thing for my troubles."
Pros: "Crew was very helpful especially with looking up connecting flights due to most people missing their connection."
Cons: "The delay, but what can you do. The seats are not comfortable when you're short."
Pros: "The terminal was well supplied. I was worried because the line for security was so long, but it was automated and fully staffed - it was so seamless!"
Pros: "Great crew. We happened to be able to land 30 mins early. Never had that happen before!"
Cons: "Transfer from my international flight caused me to go through security again...."
Pros: "Very friendly staff! Hello's and goodbye's and asked if anyone needed anything several times"
Cons: "Polaris Biz servie was worse than old biz class service. Only six salmon dinners aboard! Cabin crew needed to asked for many standard items. After dinner service, they were invisible. Brkfst was rushed in last hour before touch down. This was a real disappointment after an excellent flight from LAX to MEL! We can fly AA for such service at a lower price!"
Pros: "Crew was great, food was good, and had a superb entertainment selection."
Cons: "Comfort was as issue, I was assigned more leg room at the emergency row and the wall would be pushing against me, forcing me to go towards my neighbors side. Also, I had initially picked the last row to sit on, which was stated on my itinerary but when I printed my boarding pass, I got assigned middle of plane - which I did not understand nor complain about."
Pros: "Flight crew were very nice"
Pros: "Arrived a bit early to the destination."
Cons: "Every time the crew came by with something (more food, duty free, custom forms) (which seemed very regularly) it was announced over the intercom so it made sleeping very difficult on the 11 hour red eye flight. Other airlines will just walk by and catch your eye if you are awake. Seats were quite small as well."
Cons: "The flight left an hour and 15 minutes after the scheduled time."
Pros: "I like the entertainment screen and the food was tasty"
Cons: "My seat...not being able to pick an aisle seat. Also the passenger behind me kept doing something with her seat pocket and I could feel that everytime. Need more padding there. And halfway through the flight the screen quit working."
Pros: "The flight attendant was excellent. Much better than most of your other ones."
Pros: "The Air NZ FLight from Aickland to San Francisco was operated by United Airlines. The seat had excellent leg room. The attendants were very pleasant and available throughout."
Cons: "When I first border the plane there was another passes egg in my allocated seat. The selection of movies available was only okay. their is only a minimal number of toilets for the number of passengers and one of them was out of paper when I went or use it. But they were always clean."
Pros: "The gate agent was so nice and polite my connecting flight was late but he still allowed me to grab something to drink. He saved my life I had been sick since I left Dallas and needed something as I felt i was maybe dehydrated."
Cons: "My Stewardess on the flight seem despondent. I am for some coffee she replied that they had that in first class but it was crazy cause I just looked thru the pamphlet and it said Now Serving Illy coffee which I love. Then I saw her give another passenger a cup of coffee she looked at me with an attitude like I just made that... Then she brought it. This was crazy because if she wasn't black I would have called her racist then again done black people are racist to they own..SMH"
Cons: "They lost my bag.. I checked two bags and one bag did not make it on my flight. Very frustrated."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Multiple delays and gate changes; chaotic boarding; shabby plane condition (bathroom looked held together with duct tape)."
Cons: "Boarding went quickly but then waited almost 35 minutes on the plane to take off. Once the plane landed there was again a wait to pull into the gate. Spent more time waiting on the plane than the flight itself."
Pros: "Conplimentary drinks and flight time. Most everything was generally fantastic"
Cons: "Choice of snacks."
Pros: "The boarding staff in the airport were excellent and very helpful. Wish I would have got the gate attendant name because she was great. There was a 30 minute delay for departure due to a maintenance issue but we arrived in Cincinnati only 10 minutes late."
Cons: "The aircraft was very cramped and uncomfortable the seats were terrible. The flight crew was being very unprofessional laughing and giggling while giving the mandatory safety instructions. The pilots did a great job getting us to Cincinnati only 10 minutes late after 30 minute delay in DC"
