Eyecover, toothbrush/paste, etc) on long-haul flights for other airlines. 2) Felt ripped off paying $50 for "preferred economy" seats that looked/felt identical to standard economy seats. Should be marketed as just priority boarding."

Cons: "Booked flight through Kayak on Virgin Australia, but found out it was a codeshare on Air New Zealand. No where during booking did it show we would be charged for 1 checked bag a piece. Got to the airport and Air New Zealand was going to charge 134 AUD for each checked bag. Fortunately, they recommended going to the Virgin Australia counter to see if they could add a checked bag to our ticket. The nice people at Virgin used an online code to give us a discount so we only paid 25 AUD a bag. Thanks a lot for the heads up Kayak. We will book direct next time to avoid surprises. Also, almost all movies on Air New Zealand were an extra charge, and the only drinks offered for free on a 3 hour flight were coffee, tea, and water - no soft drinks."
Pros: "No security on this regional flight; made it simple to board. Very quiet for a turboprop aircraft. Boarding was delayed and not well announced."
Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

Cons: "I was charged $120 for baggage to fly 3 hours from NZ to Australia, when there was no mention of it when I purchased and no indication of these fees in the booking info."

Pros: "There was so much I loved, but what really stood out was the mood was set from the beginning....music, lighting, and the welcome message on the screens that were personalized for passengers. Great food and the friendliest airline crew ever. I also loved the safety video....it wasn't boring even though I knew to he information."
Cons: "I was in the middle of the middle row, but even then....I couldn't complain.....most comfortable flight I've ever been on!"
Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Pros: "We fly a lot and have flown American, European, Asian airlines but this has to be the best experienxe ever. First, their checkin is all automated, even baggage. That makes the lines really short. Their staff standing by to help at every moment. When we used another airline in Australia Jetstar, we waited in line for one hour and then were scolded for being late! We even had to pay for our water and the staff took turn scolding us over our overhead bin stuff. Boarding of NZ airline was so comfortable, without pushing or crowds. Staff always welcoming you with a smile. Seats are wide and we were given free drinks, free headohones, and wait for it.... free dinner! And all served so politey and in the most gracious manner as if we were their guests. We were so taken back by their service and this was the aecond time we have flown with them in 10 days. My young daughter thought may be their staff gets paid more so they seem to be so much more happy. I also think that there is something when you dehumanize your customers by charging them for water and being uncaring to their needs. The staff also starts to treat the customers as cattle. Besides Southwest Airlines, I havent come across one another airline where the staff treat their custmoers with reapect while charging them for water. So airlines, take note. I would pay $50 per ticket extra just to be in NZ airline."
Cons: "I selected two bags on kayak but when I checked in at Air New Zealand they said I just had tickets. Was forced to pay the full price for the baggage."
Pros: "We were allowed to check one bag for free...that's awesome. And we were provided with two full meals on the flight, more food than we could eat. And even a complimentary alcoholic drink! Great selection of movies. New Zealand Air is one of the best flying experiences I've had"

Pros: "I was recovering from a cold and didn't anticipate having ear problems but during decent I began to experience some pain. It was all new to me as I had never been through this before. Fortunately the crew was kind and they provided a sinus decongestant in a cup for me to sniff and breath in so the smell could open up my nasal passages and it helped a bit."

Cons: "I guess this goes for all economy class seats, but there's no room to move. I was lucky to have an empty middle seat (which merits the "good" rating over the "okay"), but even with that, maneuvering was difficult (trying to get stuff from the carry on stored beneath the seat, etc.). Things got worse when the person in front of me decided to put his chair back all the way into my face."

Cons: "I hated that it costs $150 for an extra (2nd) checked in luggage. If you are flying international, typically you get 2 free checked in luggages. This caught me by surprise, and I wish it was brought to my attention before I went to the airport. The seats were okay, didn't recline as much as I would've liked. But overall I enjoyed my ANZ flight."

Well what can I say. We had a terrible experience. Our direct flight from Brisbane to Hobart was cancelled at 1 minute to midnight the night before and I only found out when I woke up. That was too late so we hurried out to the airport and only because I was so so annoyed that we were put on a flight to Melbourne with a 4-5 hour stopover before collecting our luggage and walking to Jetstar to get on another flight from Melbourne to Hobart Mind you it took 1 1/2 hours to get our luggage at the carousel so I guess we should be happy that Qantas didn’t lose our luggage. So it took a ridiculous long time to go from Brisbane to Hobart snd we arrived at night time. I was so very angry with Qantas. .
THEY LOST MY BAG WHEN I WAS GOING ON A FOUR WEEK HOLIDAY. I now have nothing but the clothes I wore flying, there is zero concern about looking into where luggage is. It’s been four days and they haven’t even located the bag yet. Disgraceful, expensive, and very very upsetting. I have personal mementos and medication in the bag and there has been no sense of apology or urgency to help.

Which was around midnight to the passengers body clocks. United and virgin let passengers sleep"

Flights were punctual and aside from major delays, went as planned. The kindness and responsiveness of the crew made the flight more bearable. What can I say? Everything went very smoothly. To me, a sign of competent management and good work ethic among Qantas employees. Very impressed. Good job Aussies!"
