This racket is the ultimate way to rip somebody off of $1000. Horrible."

Pros: "The aircraft was clean, new, spacious and quiet. The bathrooms were regularly maintained. The food quality, selection and quantity was excellent for the economy class. Even the serving utensils were solid metal and had a very high quality feel to it. Having an endless supply of mid flight snacks was also appreciatd I always like the warm wet towels, which were offered at take off and landing. The entertainment choices were endless, but because it had USB and regular power, I was able to work on my laptop and listen to my podcasts on phone without worrying about running out of battery."
Cons: "The crew lacked its usual pep and cheer. For some reason they seemed very introverted and tired. First time on Singapore Airline that I noticed. The amenities kit was a bit on the cheap side. Also, only the supplied two prong headphones could be used with the entertainment system, I would have preferred an option to use my high end ones -- this was the main reason I chose to just work and listen to my own music/podcasts instead of watching a movie. We boarded and disembarked through the business sections and the aisles were too narrow. The announcements were hard to hear and the temperature was set too low for half of the flight (to kept fluctuating requiring constant adjustment of blanket/jacket). Having said that will keep flying them."

Because of the flight delay and Customs I missed my flight by 10 minutes. And am now awaiting the next flight home which was 4 hours later."

But the airline did not plan ahead and was understaffed to take care of the individuals on the airline to speed up the process of waiting in lines. They knew we were coming and still only had 2 individuals on staff to take care of hundreds of people so the lines were longer than needed to be. Poor planning and accommodating of individuals during this time has made me not want to fly with this airline again."

Cons: "I previously flew Tokyo to Sydney premium economy on Japan Air and that created expectations. This was significantly worse. The seats were not as comfortable or as spacious. On JL, you have a bit of a barrier between you and the person in the next seat. On Qantas, you very much do not. While this is probably more just bad luck than anything else, the boarding experience was nightmarish with swarms of people blocking every passage."
Cons: "I was not able to board the plane and was told that I needed to apply for ETA. I did and was not able to do it online. Then I needed to call the embassy about a required visa as a visitor. None of this was presented before. I have not traveled to Australia before, so I had no idea this needed to be done. As of now I am still at home trying to find a solution to this requirement."
Cons: "Took 2.5 hours to get the first refreshments. While there was some turbulence, when they finally did get the carts rolling there were clearly time management and inventory issues. They recovered and the rest of the trip went smoothly, but not a good way to start a 15 hour flight."

However, on the return flight when I went to check the bags in they said I would have to pay $210 for 2 bags. Thanks jetsatr and kayak for not having a good process to order a head of time. Won't use either again unless someone reads this and gives me a refund."

The fact that you can state zero fees and then expect customers to pay extra is RIDICULOUS!!! I WILL NEVER BE USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN, EVEN IF THE PRICE IS CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN A COMPETITOR."

Cons: "Had to carry carry-on suit case up and down stairs when boarded the plane. Based on the seat, half of the passengers boarded through regular ramped hall way, half boarded through back door that went downstairs to get out of the building, then up the stairs to the airplane. In Auckland airport international terminal, all passengers had to weight their carry-on and personal bags, and if it's more than seven kg, you have to check it in. This was the first time I experienced that. I bought gifts in the airport and planned to buy more. Our carry ons were a few kg over the limit, and we were sent back to the check in counter, where we just got our boarding passes and no warnings were given. We were lucky we had plenty of time during this transfer to go through all the back and forth hassles. Paying the extra $$ for the surprise check ins was not pleasant. There was another scale at the gate counter, which totally cancelled my shopping plan. To be fair, weight limit was not enforced when we boarded the plane, but you never know when that scale will be used. During the flight, I asked a flight attendant for water, and she told me to get it myself pointing the curtain half a plane away. Another new experience. This was the first time we took Jetstar, and on the way to New Zealand, we didn't feel it was too much different from the other airlines we flew before except you have to pay for everything from a cup of tea to meals and entertainment, and of course we didn't go through Auckland. The return trip really made us realize you get what you pay for."

Cons: "What was going to be a painful red-eye became infinitely worse when the flight got delayed twice, from 00:55 am departure to 02:15 am then to 03:30 am. All the while the bleary-eyed passengers were sprawled around in the waiting area, completely neglected and unattended. Nobody from JetStar came out offering blankets or updating on the status of the flight. When the boarding time finally came, it was disorderly and chaotic. The seats were uncomfortable and cramped and the crew were rude."

I realize now that it is in the fine print, but I did not know that no checked bags came with this flight. The cost was not just high, it was obscene ($670 for two bags!). That was just slightly less than the cost of the entire flight for both of us. I will never fly Jetstar again. This was absolutely ridiculous. It is also a very compelling story, which I am sharing with everyone that I know. Please find a way to make this right so that the conclusion of the story can be how Kayak is a good company for fixing this."
