Pros: The hotel is very conveniently close to the Otsuka station, served by the JR line. There are plenty of dining options in the nearby area, with a convenience store right in front of the hotel. The area doesn’t get too busy even duting rush hour. I stayed in a single room and it was small, but is expected of tokyo. Perfect for a single traveller. The lavatory is in a separate room from the shower room, which would be convenient if two guests are staying in one room, but it might get too cramped, especially when suitcases are open. Room amenities were complete, there’s free wifi, and the room was very clean.

Pros: Very luxurious, spotlessly clean hotel with spacious rooms. I read some previous comments about the locations not being good - I think is excellent! I. The middle of big, green park where you can listen to the birds and cicadas at night. Real oasis in this big city. To nearest metro station is only 10 min walk through the park safe to walk even at night. We moved around the city easy! We loved our hotel and did not wanted to leave.

Pros: The hotel is beautifully appointed, with large rooms featuring marble bathrooms, mechanic curtains, exceptional service, and a stunning view of the gardens and pagoda. It seems that it is a wedding destination, with a storybook setting. For Tokyo, the price was a good value for the size of room and luxurious setting, the reason is the location isn't as central and train access isn't as readily available as many other luxury hotels.
I was there for business travel, but this would be a suitable location for a romantic trip.

Pros: the whole concerige dept & the front desk team on 22nd nov morning was terrible. PLease have the duty manager write back to me. my page cant even fit the whole scenerio within a 35 mins time span on a rushing check out with all the mistakes your front desk & conceierge made. so pls revert me privately. 1st was the front desk at check out. insisted my stay was till 23rd which i have given my rm number at chek out counter 5x, & he reapeted my name wrongly 5x when i said NO, & give room # 5x, he insisted my name was liu and i said no,i m in a rush for 1035 am bus (@1020 am then) He insited I made a mistake that my stay was till 23rd for 3 nts; i said NO 19, 20 21, chk out 22nd, i said I ALREADY DOUBLED Checked MY RECIEPT here 12 hours ago LAST NIGHT 1030PM, Got MY COMPLETE RECEIPT, JUST TOLD THE OTHER FRONT DESK to use ANOTHER CREDIT CARD today AT 1020AM. Pros: The hot spring and the housekeeping was exceptional during the 5 nights we stayed in 2 rooms
Cons: The restaurant during weekends was chaotic. We had to wait exceptionally long ( almost an hour between servings and despite that some of our orders were not fulfilled and the waitress didn’t even have the honesty to admit that she screwed up . Fortunately for us the sushi Chef heard our order and spoke out to support us ... then followed a bunch of apologies typical of Japanese courtesy. On a separate subject , We had to reschedule our trip this time because of booking.com and their incompetent staffs . Originally we had confirmed reservations by booking.com for Kanaya Resorts but had to cancel and stayed instead at Highland Hotel in Hakone. Instead of coming clean to tell us outright that the resort was effected by the typhoon a rep from booking.com contacted me very close to our trip and said that the resort was overbooked . This idiot named Judd actually lied for reasons best known to himself . The second day after I replied stating my unhappiness another rep from booking. informed me that the cancellation was necessary because of relocation. 2 reps in the company with 2 different stories . It was the first time after so many bookings that booking.com failed me and this idiot called Judd was particularly offensive and high handed in the way he handled the cancellation . Not suitable for the hospitality business . I’m hoping that my remarks will be published as this is an official complain. Finally I accepted the hotel proposed by another rep named Lian after rejecting the one proposed by the second rep named Casie. who suggested La Foret where I had stayed before. Unlike the first rep Judd who was uncouth and rude , the other two reps were polite and articulate.

Cons: then at the concerige desk more ridciulous chase me for a bus tic at a rushing time for stg i dont know. i immediately texted my husband he said he gave, then held me for hostage for 15 mins at the counter. making the whole bus wait for me. come on if there was a problem why didnt they approach me the whole day on 21st after they left. why at 1030am after your front desk mess & a hurry of hoping onto the limosine bus for a problem the concerige made. (I FOUND OUT WHEN I GOT HOME last nt: SON took 615AM BUS. HUSBAND ACCOMPANIED HIM AT 0605 AT LOBBY, CONCERIGE MAN came, SO MY SON GAVE THE TICKET TO CONCEIRGE MAN. HE LOOKED AND GAVE IT BACK TO HIM. SO YOUR CONCERIGE PROB. NOT MY SON not give.CORRECT? my hsuband said he didnt take looked only, inconvenietnly son had to hold THE TICKET AT THE LOBBY WITH MY HUSBAND, NO further staff came for IT, USUAL PRACTICE FOR other hotels: staff get the tix when SEATED on the bus row by row/ when hop on bus. iso he gave the driver when on, drive said SIT DOWN. so he held his tix all the way gave driver at NRT, driver didnt take. SO? whose problem? whats the point to keep a return bus tix valid for 14 days only? i was here whole day no one asked me about it even when i went down at 1030pm 21st to conceirge to ask about my ice packs upon chk out, no one mentioned anything after 16 hours, so why ask at a rush of 1030 am for my 1035am bus? while being held hostage late at1045am this silly bell girl with the driver next to her cont to ask me which terminal for baggage tag. i said T2. when converige shd hv that info already when booking the bus.why NOW? even so, i repeated again T2, give me a blue tag. then she still umbling on the booklet asking what airline. i said cathay pacific, we are in a hurry could u put the tag on? geex whats the questioning of T2 for another 5 mins. then she was like errm T2? airline? come on the whole bus is waiting, i told u T2 &CX you dont believe!

Pros: The shuttle bus was handy although, there are no signs to tell you were the shuttle bus stops at the train station when you arrive for the first time. The breakfast was very good. The staff are very nice too.
Cons: We booked a suite for 3 people. The extra bed was in the seating section of the suite, just pushed in front of the settee so, basically one of us was sleeping in the sitting room. There was no space to get around and this was not the layout shown on the website. This is a lovely hotel but this was a terrible configuration of beds for the price and considering the suite was quite small it was a little claustrophobic. The hotel is in a quiet area with nothing around it except a supermarket across the road.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. My original room was a quite nice, though I was moved to a different room the second night when they finally gave my wife keys to the room.
Cons: I left keys for my wife at the front desk on the night I arrived from the US. The front desk wouldn't give her the keys to our room and she was made to wait in the lobby as my mobile phone wasn't working. She had to take the last train at night back to her parents house in the suburbs. I am owed a refund for the first night's stay.

Pros: The location was exceptional. Incredibly centered and in a quiet section of Ikebukuro where you could truly get anywhere in a short time. Pros: Excellent hotel with excellent service. Only after I had checked-out and arrived at the airport over an hour away did I realize I inadvertently left some very important items in my room. The staff at the hotel was extremely patient, kind, and went out of their way to send the items to us via their airport bus service at no cost to us. If not for housekeeping, the front desk, and guest relations coordinating the delivery and finding people that spoke our language to communicate with us, as well as the airport's helpful staff watching out for the right bus for us, we would have been lost. Special thanks to Mayumi Okuma-san. That's what I call superior service. I will always be grateful and will definitely stay at this hotel whenever I am in Tokyo.

Pros: The rooms are clean, the place is fine, the service is great. They don't skip a beat. The room safe is really convenient.
Cons: Here's the thing, I stay in Tokyo a few times a year. The prices here are expensive for rooms this small. As for the breakfast, it's catered to Japanese travelers with food that I really can't put down in the morning. No whole wheat bread, no espresso coffee, not enough fresh fruit.

Pros: 10/10 best place to stay even topped our splurge ryokan, the facilities, location and staff are all above and beyond.
Cons: Cleaner burst into the room yelling in Chinese even though we had the “no cleaning today” sign up, twice. Can’t use onsen if you have tattoos, a tattoo friendly 2 hour block would be fantastic but that’s just the culture
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok, the only positive thing about this place, Sorry we did not try the onsen,,, maybe we could enjoy it,,,
Cons: Room size is less than the minimum, personnel attitude is inidifferent to rude,,, saving on toilet paper thickness?? charging for one hour early check in ?? we were glad to leave and found much better hotel within same price range.

Pros: The hotel was clean with great service!
Cons: room size
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, combines Japanese and western ingridients,
Cons: Tokyo is exploding with tourism and the hotel staff does not really attend the guests personally, the attitude is unfriendly, the charges of early check in and instructions to stay out between 10AM to 3 PM are not aceptable for hotel guests. The room is very small, the rest rooms are smallest capsules, what more can we say when they save on the toilet paper thickness....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff who spoke english and knew western cultures were Amazing! Genuine concern and kindness can go a long way with common understanding.

Cons: I noticed my luggage was damaged after leaving it with the front desk for storage as it was before the check in time. However the staff denied that they have caused the damage to the bag. My luggage was perfectly alright when I left the bag with them as the damage part is on top and it is quite obvious. My sister immediately saw that when the staff brought out the luggage bag. Nonetheless they denied and said it was not caused by the hotel.

Cons: The number of Coin Laundry machines are not sufficient for all guests. Moreover, the detergent is poor quality. Although it was said on the machine that the adding of detergent is not required(as staff confirmed that the detergent is already inside the machine), my clothes look like it was not cleansed by the detergent as it smells the same. Also two excellent gluten free restaurants nearby for those who need it.

Pros: The location is great just 5 mins walk from Ikebukuro station. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Staffs are friendly and they speak English quite okay. There is an early check-in option at 12 PM and it costs JPY 3,000 which is a reasonable price for me.
Cons: I stayed during the late November which the weather is getting cold. But the air conditioning (or the heating) system was centralized so I could not adjust anything (the fan can be adjusted but made no difference) and the room temperature was too warm even I opened the window. And there was not much air circulation in the room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Easy to reach but I would not say it is great location!! Lots of restaurants and shopping mall!!
Cons: Air Con does not work!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful in finding me an English speaking physiotherapist after I hurt my back, and when I returned to the hotel for a further stay a fortnight later they remembered me and asked if my back was better. It was greatly appreciated. Hotel is located in a vibrant area for shopping and dining and has superb train links for local and regional destinations. Also two excellent gluten free restaurants nearby for those who need it.
Cons: Couldn't fault The B!
7.9 Good
Pros: Best location ever, near train station and lots of eateries. Clean room.
Cons: Staff attitude inconsistent. Room is super small even for my petite size!!! No dehumidifier/ air conditioning- only heat otherwise have to open up window!!!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast, convenient location, international ATM in 7-11 across the street, convenient access to Ikebukuro station, friendly helpful staff. Rooms are small as is typical for a Tokyo hotel of this price, but very clean.
Cons:
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast buffet. Convenient location close to Ikebukuro Station, shopping, food, and 7-11.
Cons: Air conditioning already turned off so room a bit hot and stuffy, but staff did provide a fan to solve the problem.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, lovely staff. Great location
Cons: Air conditioning wasnt working very well, and it was almost impossible to open the windows
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Area in the room

Pros: It was a very comfortable stay and good value for money! Everything was really clean and comfortable, and it was nice and quiet. Not the latest fashion but enjoyable nonetheless. The walk to the hotel past the rose-lined tram(?) tracks was a definite highlight and Otsuka station had a great feel to it. All in all, enjoyed it immensely.

Pros: Humble, great value for what we paid, just enough room to be comfortable. Love the microwave and room amenities. Bathroom a bit small, but that's any Japanese style bathroom for that size of a space. Will recommend for short stays, max a week or two.

Pros: The bed was good. I slept very well. The location is near a huge railway station and underground market. Also they will give you a bottle of water every day after bed making.
Cons: The "Ikebukuro North Area" is a dangerous area with lots of adult services and yakuza. You will never want to stay here anymore unless the dark side of the city is what you want to experience. Also, it is far from all major sightseeing spots. To save your time (and money) it is better to stay at the east side of Yamanote Line.
Their internet is also bad. It has rate limit to all Google websites including YouTube, it is even not possible to use Google Maps normally. I finally set up a VPN to a Japan server and everything was fine.
