San Antonio hotels near La Villita Historic Arts Village

Cons: My dresser was difficult to close, but it didn't bother me enough to report it until I checked out. No other complaints at all.

Cons: Need better pillows. Firm ones.

Cons: Room smelled like chlorine when I came in, and the water tasted heavily chlorinated. The room was a bit poorly lit, and the windowsill outside the room was consistently overrun with pigeons. Glasses as opposed to plastic cups would be preferred (for the environment), and a safe to lock up valuables would have been nice. (I prefer not to have to take my passport with me everywhere.)

Cons: Elevator use was impossible, walked down stairs from 15th floor with luggage.

Cons: Only valet parking. Inconvenient for us

Cons: they charged my card $482 dollars for parking when it was only supposed to be $46. Took them a week to refund the money and then they still charged me for the parking!! What a joke! Where is the coustomer service?

Cons: Very slow elevators. Unfortunately we were leaving the same time a large group from a convention was checking out and the 3 elevators could not keep up with the demand.

Cons: The hotel was at FULL CAPACITY and completely booked and although I don't have a huge problem with this as it pertains to the pandemic, it does seem like the hotel is not designed (or managed well enough) to support a full capacity crowd.

Cons: Nothing

Cons: Kind of dark interior needs brightening.

Cons: Almost everything was perfect, but it would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room to store our own food and drinks. Also one of our beds was squeaky and that made it uncomfortable to sleep on so better beds would have been nice.

Cons: Do I have enough space. Let's see. First off the room looked nothing like any of the photos. The room was void of any color, decorations, furnishings or character. It was no where near a $200 a night room. From to moment you arrive you are on your own to unload your bags, drag them in the hotel and then hopefully find the lobby to check in. Which is on the second floor. Everything is expencive like you would expect but their is little to no staff to help you. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Cons: Table lamp on the floor. Already opened $6 water bottle in the mini bar, expired food in the mini bar, windows only opened a few inches due to poor bench placement. No table for sitting, only a bed. I think this room was a poor representation of the hotel, but it needs to be addressed regardless!

Cons: We waited 30 minutes for our car after check out. CALL AHEAD...way ahead!

Cons: The construction limited the entrance to a single, slow, temporary, small elevator to the check-in counter on the second story. Hotel services were limited to a makeshift bar and restaurant.

Cons: Great location since we could walk a block and a half to the majestic theater. Beautiful room, nice view, but the restaurant was closed for dinner and the breakfast was $63 dollars.

Cons: Bed corners are very dangerous, I end up with bruises because bed woods expand from mattress and you can hit your legs easily unless you are very careful. I had the opportunity to talk to other guests and they complain about the same dangerous corners. Bathroom have to many gabs on counter and your personal products can fall while cleaning is happening and you will never find them. If your leave something you have to go to a website to file lost and found. That is very far from what is the main reason of hotels, customer service...... Very poor in that part. Most rooms the city view is the windows of the next building.

Cons: Their was dust on the coffee maker. I am a big time coffee drinker. And dust on the cabnet and mirrors, shelfs, bathroom. But not caked on.... Coffee pot needs to be cleaned every day.

Cons: The staff at the Crockett are always AMAZING. Don't change anything you're definitely doing it right.

Cons: Large room...room felt like an unfurnished apartment. T.V. was off to the left side of the bed all by itself on a desk...so had to lie on my side to watch anything leading to sore neck back and shoulders...horrible. Absolutely ruined my day! Ernie's bar was not open Sat or Sun before 3 pm!? And it was a holiday weekend and opening college football weekend and I had to go to another hotel bar to watch the game..OU V. Houston. I've stayed her for the 2nd and last time.

Cons: Shower was backing up.

Cons: Parking fee was a bit high at $25

Cons: Mattress was super firm and pillows were a bit hard.

Cons: If I had to pick something I didn't like it would be paying for parking, but that's a given in the area. Our A/C unit was a little loud but it didn't really diminish from our stay.

Cons: When calling front desk took them a long time to answer. I even had to call twice before they would pick up. The elevators are a little small but they work at least. And again the rooms are quite small but it's just due to the history of the hotel.

Cons: The beds are rock hard, the air conditioner was very loud, the pool is across the alley, the parking costs $24, the breakfast was meh

Cons: Noise rises from ground level around 5am as employees begin breakfast routine

Cons: We had a room that sort of had a balcony, but the door was nailed shut. That was kind of disappointing... The windows were as well, which made it turn out to be a very bad decision that we sprayed on sunscreen in our room... To get a mini fridge, you need to pay a one-time fee that I think was $25. My group didn't bother, but be aware of that extra fee. Pool was only just large enough to do any actual swimming in. It also only reached maybe 5 feet deep. If there had been a crowd, I imagine it would not have been very fun.

Cons: The rooms are a little tight but due to the age of the hotel this is to be expected. I'd like to see some potatoes at the breakfast.

Cons: $25 parking charge per night

Cons: My only complaint is that the WiFi was spotty in the rooms, though it worked very well in the lobby areas.

Cons: The rooms were a bit smaller than the pictures led me to believe, but what hotel doesn't do that? I wouldn't say that the Crockett is very romantic, but it suited our purpose :)

Cons: There was no fridge or microwave. I thought it was a bit over priced.

Cons: -Front desk staff didn't seem welcoming -Price doesn't seem to comparable to room quality, but I think you pay for the location and history -Valet wasn't always readily available to take keys after already checking vehicle in -Parking around or near hotel is difficult and valet is $24/night -Sound traveled heavily from hallway into the room, not sure if it's because we were by the elevator Regardless of this, definitely worth a stay!!!!!

Cons: I had to get accustomed to the pets/dogs barking and in such close proximity to us.

Cons: Cleanliness can be better, especially in the bathroom area. The building seems old, could use some renovation.

Cons: Packed full of families with small children during Covid pandemic, no coffee in lobby, towels were scarce. Creepy homeless panhandlers roaming the parking lots. Very noisy, With too many dogs Who barked incessantly and screaming children in the pool 12+ hours per day.

Cons: There were ants all over our room. At first it was two, I then started noticing them all over our room and a few in the bed the night before checkout. They were in the process of renovating the building, and failed to mention it when I called to confirm my room. Parking was horrible.

Cons: Toilette was loud and running every 30 minutes or so. Close to the airport, you could really hear the planes coming and going. AC/Heat. There was no way to adjust the temperature, it was either freezing or too hot.

Cons: I had my truck stolen at the property and they didn't have any cameras. Apparently, there was a guard at night but maybe he was sleeping or something. No one saw anything. The truck as just suddenly there. The hotel is tucked away in a little corner and I guess is frequented by carnappers. The staff was polite but basically was just given a "that sucks, sorry." I had to ask the La Quinta across the street if they had cameras and they did but, unfortunately, nothing that was pointed at the TownePlace property. I wish I didn't have to have to ask another hotel to maybe see the parking lot. I feel like the hotel should have done something more to be helpful or SOMETHING. Sure, you've got a lot of signs out saying park at your own risk but if you can't ensure my property isn't safe while I stay at your hotel then I will definitely not stay here again.

Cons: I did not appreciate an employee being rude. Also they can improve with a thorough cleaning of the room.
