Pros: The rooms at the Zocalo Central are well accommodated and well maintained. The staff is phenomenally helpful and friendly, and the roof-top cafe has an unbelievable view of the national cathedral and central plaza below. For sightseeing purposes, one can't beat the location, which is merely steps away from the cathedral, Palacio Nacional, and the city's archeological site.

Pros: The hotel is a gem. It is centrally located, very clean and the staff was amazing. They were friendly and helped us out with getting around the city. As soon as you walk in they make you feel welcomed. They greet you with a smile and a glass of authentic horchata or jamaica. Love it!! The evening guest services provides us with suggestions for excursions, which we took advantage of.

Cons: Rooftop restaurant did not have a bar, you have to order and sit on a table to drink. I paid the most expensive mojitos I ever had $24 dollars for two to be exact plus tip for the waiter.
The room I had was tiny with a 1foot by two slim overhead window, quite claustrophobic for me...
The breakfast buffet was $24 dollars, really! You walk next block to Restaurant El Popular and order their menus for less than $6.

Cons: On Our first stay we had a room that the toilet didn't flush and the plumbing generally was poor. Our second stay, a few days later was much better. We wondered, not for the first time, whether internet bookings tend to be given lower grade rooms.

Cons: A bit outdated, in need of some renovations/modernization. It could be a truly luxurious experience if the lobby area were brought up to date. The piano bar/lounge could be wonderful if it were renovated. I envision something truly great in the future.

Cons: Everthing was great. Only one little problem, Steve left his hat in the room when we checked out. We haven't even had time to check on it. And, we inadvertantly booked for one night but we needed two. When we added a day at the hotel, they charged us full price rather than the online rate. I thought this wasn't terribly considerate.

Cons: They initially didn't honor the price agreement obtained with booking.com. They said they weren't bound to honor it because my card had been declined. I talked to Amex and they explained why it was declined, which was unlikely. In any case, if they don't cancel the reservation, which they hadn't, they are bound to honor the agreement. It took involving Viktor from booking.com (who was great), Amex, and the Embassy Suites to resolve this. Very stressful.

Cons: Dishonest staff, charged me multiple times to bring a friend in building. Gave no receipts. Charged again next time. Paid for 2 room occupancy on Expedia. Obviously security was pocketing the cash. Additionally, was promised a bottle of wine for being an Expedia Gold member via email. The hotel never made good on this offer. Highly reccomend you stay elsewhere.

I also didn't like the system of typing my pin, leaving the account open. I had to insist that I pay the 4 nights immediately and pay any extras, telephone, restaurant consumptions, etc., on departure.

Cons: There were two bottles of water in the bathroom (I supposed that they were for brushing teeth) -- it turned out that they were part of the minibar and quite expensive. This could've been better marked. When I arrived at the breakfast room, no one seemed to speak any English or have any clue what they were supposed to do. They gave me a dinner menu and claimed that there was no breakfast. After a while, the chef came out, and in the end, I received a delicious breakfast (though the whole process took almost 1 1/2 hours). The next day I went to the breakfast place next door (Pan y Cocina; which was ok and cheaper).

Bellman/security very friendly some of them very knowledgeable, and the young lady that serves the food at the breakfast buffet really knows what the customer service business is all about. She has a great smile and everything you ask for she gets for you without hesitating. One of the best things at the hotel are the security cameras on every corner of the floors. Cons: Staff for the most part don't know what they are doing during check in/out.they seem lost. I'll give the front desk manager the credits for their lack of customer service and old system to run the operation. The restaurant hostess keeps telling you that you have to pay for breakfast as soon as you enter the restaurant; they say its policy to remind the guest they have to pay even if they have seen you for two weeks straight or if you have a visitor (potential client) for breakfast. (Not the best way to greet a customer), also chairs are extremely dirty.
Front desk charges you for lost key cards and they question you if you ask for extra keys; when if you go to a branded hotel you can loose 100 key cards and you won't pay a penny. If you want to exchange dollars at the hotel the pay you 10 pesos per dollar when if you go outside its 16 pesos per dollar. Basically they steal from you. Bad business practice! And lastly housekeeping don't dust rooms or deep clean bathrooms.

Pros: So I was considering going to Mexico City and Orbitz had a $50 off $100 promotion, and only certain hotels were included. Ny. T. Roma Hotel came up, so I booked it for a week without thinking much of it.
Fast forward to a couple of days ago, and I arrived to check in to a really, really nice room. Apparently there are many differnet room types, so I was assigned to a king bed room with an extra bed and a sauna. I couldn't get the sauna to work, and unfortunately I had to give this huge room up as my Internet wasn't working. This room was at the end of the hallway, so the signal strength wasn't good.
Cue the amazing staff, who showed me a few rooms with my laptop in tow to see if the Internet would work. I found a room near the elevator on the 2nd floor that worked for me, and Ricardo went to the basement, apparently, and summoned up a desk and a chair for me to work on since I had mentioned it was a shame the rooms were missing this feature.
The lighting in the room is awesome. They have rope lights along the floor that you can control, so at night I have just enough light to find the bathroom without turning on more lights to wake myself up. There's also a backlit mirror on the wall and like 3 or 4 other light switches to get the mood JUST right.
The shower is great with the rainfall style faucet in the ceiling. Gets hot quick. The Internet speed isn't the best, but it is much faster than I anticipated while being in Mexico.
Even at full price, this hotel is a great deal. I would easily stay here again if I was to return to Mexico City. It's walking distance from everything!

Cons: The hotel is under construction and they only have several rooms available. The rooms that my family and I got were ok and the air conditioners were not working. So they had floor air conditioning with some fans. It did not work. Rooms were so hot and we were not able to sleep at all. We complained to the personnel and all they said was “sorry but we are under remodeling due to the last earthquake”. Well, they should not have any rooms available until they finish and get the ac units working. !!

Cons: not for non spanish speakers. Not for tourists. No map or tourist info at the hotel. Many of the reception staff dont speak English. Mexico City, or what we saw of it was a boring place to visit and not for tourists. We have been to many cities and it was grim. Speaking Spanish would have been a major bonus and we were only there 2days before going to Acapulco, but that is another story!!!

Saul on the reception desk is AMAZING and will give you the low down on what to do in Mexixo City. Saul made my stay! He is fantastic. There are so many excursions you can go on bookable at reception. I recommend the Pyramids and Taxco.
