Pickup and dropoff were quick and easy and the vehicle was clean. I traveled for a ski vacation with a large ski bag and reserved an Intermediate SUV, a "Nissan Rogue" or equivalent. They gave me a tiny Chevy Trax and my ski bag would not fit in the vehicle without having the back seat and the front passenger seat in the down position. The Trax is much smaller than the Rogue and transporting the ski bag in it was inconvenient. How disappointing. Beware.Reviewed 11 Feb 2023

After waiting in line for an hour - along with dozens of others, we finally got to the desk only to be told that it would be a two-hour wait for a car despite having a reservation. When I inquired whether there were other vehicles available I was told that they only had pickup trucks currently. When I said that would be fine, the desk agent informed me that I would have to pay an upgraded rate. The desk agent was as kind and sympathetic and blamed the issue on the manager - who was nowhere to be found. We were able to walk next door to Enterprise and secure a vehicle at a cheaper rate in 10 minutes. The manager at Dollar in SLC needs to be fired.Reviewed 11 Oct 2022

Pickup at SLC was a mess. Instructions said to take off-site shuttle. But after waiting (with 3 kids) for over half an hour I called and was told there was no off-site shuttle running that day an to go to another place. Went to that place was redirected somewhere else. Took forever!! So frustrating. Then had to wait in line for over 30 minutes. Not an easy process.Reviewed 24 Mar 2022

The insurance offered on the kayak site wasn't accepted by dollar. I learned this after flying and attempt to pick up the car. Kayak said my total, with insurance and another driver would be $444. When I picked up the car, and they would accept the $55 insurance that I had already paid for, the total was $950. This included an $200 deposit that they said I'll get back, but even still $750. I will never do business with dollar or kayak again. The $55 insurance was refunded. They told me it's a third party company that works with kayak, but the actual rental company can choose to not accept it. I'm so pissed. On the day I picked up the rental, no other company had any cars available, so I had no choice but to be screwed by these shady people. Take your business elsewhere or just don't go through kayak. I don't have a lot of money, this vacation was a well budgeted luxury. Enjoy my money, I guarantee I need it more than you.Reviewed 7 Feb 2022

I lost my credit card that I originally booked rental with Priceline (Kayak), and neither Dollar, nor Priceline would allow me to use my Visa debit card, or switch to my travel companions name and credit card. I was forced to switch to Hertz with no reservation, which cost me $475 for a one day rental versus the $213 I originally paid through Priceline (Kayak). I spoke with several customer service agents from both Dollar and Priceline, and they were all powerless to connect me to my reserved and paid for car sitting 50 feet away from the counter agent.Reviewed 5 Feb 2022
