10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the atmosphere at the hotel. The room was incredible and we had a great time.
6.5 Good
Pros: Very nice looking (marble, chandeliers, etc.), lots of amenities. Large rooms. In the heart of downtown. Good bar in the hotel lobby restaurant.
Cons: Not good value IMO. It was nice but there were several disappointing things in our short stay (see below) that I would have expected better considering the price. Service was prickly and unfriendly. The rooms were well appointed and large but I didn't find the value paying 3x for them. Pretentious... too fancy for me. Not a bad thing just know what you're getting. As an example, there's a harp player in the main lobby. One of the two bathroom sinks leaked at the handle and the sink didn't drain. It would have been obvious to housekeeping as there was standing water in the bowl but they didn't offer to fix it. I didn't complain because we were only there 2 nights and just used the other sink. Got coffee in the lobby restaurant...it was the worst coffee I've ever had. Smelled and tasted terrible. All of these things are relatively minor but for a huge price premium I expect a premium experience and didn't get it. I'll stay at a Double Tree or something comparable next time I'm in SLC.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds and pool, Princess rooms, and very friendly attentive staff. Jack in hospitality greeted us, gave us great recommendations, and went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and made us feel at home. Can't speak highly enough for the amaxing and genuine staff. Truely a luxury hotel with first class amenities.
Cons: Only positive things to say.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: very good service, friendly staff, decorated beautifully for the holiday season. great location, close to everything.
Cons: we did not find an in-room coffee maker, which we would expect for our junior suite.

6.8 Good
Pros: Luxury bedding, Cleanliness, Location to Vivint Arena.
Cons: No vallet parking created a bit of a delay, and a problem for a handicapped person. Getting a taxi within 30 minutes proved impossible, so we were late for dinner reservations. Breakfast vouchers required too early of a meal, as this was Friday morning after a late concert at Vivint; so we missed the breakfast that came with our room rate, very disappointing! A parking voucher was meant to be helpful, but did not even cover 24 hours! So we ended up owing $10 for parking when we left the garage 18 hours after pulling in. Three separate times before 11am check out housekeeping staff knocked or tried to enter our room. This was disturbing and disruptive to a restful morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really good
Cons: None
4.5 OK
Cons: They moved locations and didn't inform prior. Parking garage costs in addition to hotel stay

7.4 Good
Pros: Nice property, clean and easy parking (which is free in the garagw).
Cons: They serve free breakfast and dinner! But if you're Jewish, you can't eat the food, LOTS of pork products, very disappointing. Won't stay there again since that is a perk of Homewood Suites. They could at least do chicken since everyone eats that!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: No comment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff, extensive breakfast with pancake baking machine, pool, close to railway and bus stations

Exclusively located in downtown Salt Lake City, the Hyatt House is just steps away from the Vivint Smart Home Arena, the Salt Palace Convention Center, and Gateway Shopping Mall. Our location also offers a convenient location to the City Creek Mall, Temple Square, LDS Conference Center, and the Family Research Genealogy Library. The Hyatt House is located within 30 minutes to major ski resorts in Park City, Deer Valley and Cottonwood Canyons, which feature the “best snow on earth”.
7.7 Good
Pros: The hotel and its staff were very nice and welcoming, even accommodated a late checkout request, so I was pleased.
Cons: I was surprised this location didn't have a shuttle to the airport and yet airline crews were staying there - maybe special arrangements are made for them. Other hotels in the area do offer shuttles.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was outstanding. Literally across the street from the sports arena and just a block away from the Salt Palace convention center. In addition, the staff was always very attentive to whatever we needed and whatever questions we had. So while it was a business trip and I had zero say as to where we were staying, I was very impressed and would absolutely stay there again next time I'm in SLC.
Cons: It was a new hotel (I think 5 weeks old) when we stayed so they were still working out the kinks. The room phone wouldn't work except for when on speaker phone, the thermostat unit wouldn't drop past 70 for the A/C setting and the position of the shower head to the shower door created inevitable run off onto the bathroom floor (nothing a towel couldn't soak up but, you know, still a curious choice). But those are very nit-picky things and will easily be overlooked the next time I'm in SLC because I will be staying there.

1.0 Poor
Pros: I struggle to find anything positive after my night there
Cons: Room a very poor standard - very unlike the photo graphs - lots of hidden extra costs so at the end of the day I felt very 'ripped off' - i went for what I thought was a reasonably priced hotel and given what I had to pay for extras I paid way more :(

Cons: The continental breakfast was subpar, despite being hyped upon check-in as one of the hotel's best features. I also had issues connecting to the internet, and had to cycle through several different networks before finally staying connected.

5.1 OK
Pros: most of the staff was nice
Cons: Head desk lady seemed annoyed with any family at the hotel she didn't hide it well she didn't like families there. The pool only stays open until 10:00. The rooms lighting is annoying the bathroom lights wouldn't work for some reason, the glass sliding door into the bathroom was horrible once it was shut it would take me a grown man to open it for the kids and my wife. Breakfast was so so, there is much better breakfasts out there I have stayed at the Hyatt House just 20 minutes away from the hotel and it has better amenities and breakfast. Also two of my children forgot toothbrushes so they went down to get one and they charged them for a toothbrush I mean for $160 a night that is ridiculous. Also we pulled out the hide a bed and there was a huge hairball from the wash or something it was pretty gross.

Pros: Nice room. Good cleaning staff, room and hallways were clean. Free deodorant because I forgot mine, nice touch.
Cons: The bathroom door was a sliding door that didn't lock, and didn't keep the steam out of the main room area. The pool area opened up outside, which led to quite a few dead bees and flies in the pool.

Pros: Great location and the view from my window was amazing. Very friendly staff. Clean comfortable bed.
Cons: For the price the room was small, No spa, No coffee in the room. Not a hot tub, jacuzzi to be found. Room was hot. I was a very sad girl.
6.2 Good
Pros: The hotel itself is nice. It's comfortable, clean. Seems best for business or couples. The indoor pool was fun with a city view.
Cons: We had a few problems with our room upon arrival. Online we had booked a room with a sofa bed, and the microwave/fridge. The room they gave us had no sofa bed for our kids, so they switched us to a room with no fridge/microwave. The staff weren't very friendly. When asking questions about breakfast, facilities, getting extra blankets and pillows etc. they were rude and treated us as if we were being incovenient with all these "silly" questions. The pillows were miserable! Down and feather pillows provide no support so it made sleeping on a nice mattress difficult.

Pros: The breakfast was great. Made to order food. The price was reasonable for the quality.
Cons: It was kind of difficult getting in and out of the driveway as it is a one way street. Small price to pay for such a nice place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall great stay. The room and hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly. Loved the large flat screen tv with direct tv. Normally hotels just have crappy cable and it's always a pain to change channels but this having direct tv was awesome. Loved the in room kuereg coffee maker with k cups. Definitely a step up from the normal drip coffee machines normally found in hotels. And if that's not good enough for you, Starbucks is literally right next door. Loved the fact the pool and gym is 24hrs. Although the indoor heated pool wasn't warm enough on the day I went in June but the spa was nice. The restaurant inside the hotel was a little over priced for what you get and breakfast isn't complimentary. Even so I would for sure stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are always pleased with a Hilton, no matter what city we are in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed here before and was greatly surprised how nice it is now.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super nice. Friendly staff. Flight was cancelled and they were really helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, garden rooms were large.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the room, the view was great of the city, and we could walk around to where we wanted to go.
Cons: The bath tub didn't drain and so we showered in a tub full of water.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was huge, spotless, quiet and comfortable with a great view (712). Best sleep in weeks. Staff is not over friendly but fast, efficient and helpful. Some of the conference rooms were a tad small. Food was very good.
Cons: Ran out of items for our conference buffets which should be fully stocked until end time specified. No doormen.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are spacious and clean
Cons: Front Desk staff where not very knowledgable
7.4 Good
Pros: The rooms were very spacious and very clean.
Cons: The elevators were broken and we were not informed about it after waiting for a long while with all of our luggage we decided to use the stairs. I understand things happen but a common courtesy would have had front desk tell us and offerd any help with our luggage. My neighbors were very loud and obnoxious how ever I did not call lobby which is my fault but possibly having security do a walk through through the halls at night would be a good idea for this hotel.
5.1 OK
Pros: Delicious but pricey breakfast in bed
Cons: Clogged bathtub, terrible dinner and service at the hotel restaurant, front desk staff seemed annoyed, blunted affect.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City - Salt Lake City - Bedroom

8.8 Excellent (1,541 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in a historic bank building, four-star Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City radiates fun, sophistication and personality. Whether you’re here for the outdoor recreation or some business speculation, Hotel Monaco is the perfect urban sanctuary. It’s just a half block from the city’s ski shuttles and around the corner from the Salt Palace Convention Center. It’s also walking distance to City Creek shopping center, Temple Square, the Capitol Theatre, and downtown bars and restaurants.
4.2 OK
Pros: It was clean and centrally located.
Cons: TL;DR We were overcharged for the room. The room was dark and tiny. We were "upgraded" to a smaller, darker room. Don't stay here. Paying via priceline was $40 more than the hotel website advertised. On a night when the hotel was nearly empty, we were given an awkward corner room that was poorly lit and the size of a closet. Front desk was nice enough to "upgrade" us.... to a smaller and darker yet equally uncomfortable corner room. The robes were threadbare, faded leopard print, and gross. It was so terrible that we questioned whether we were on Candid Camera. I've been a lifelong Kimpton devotee but never again. There are so many great hotel options in SLC. Don't waste your time or money here.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff, decor
Cons: Room 708 must be very close to ventsbof some sort because there is a hum going on the whole day and night, which could affect quality or sleep.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Well decorated, nice overall.
Cons: Other people's showers so loud it kept me up, knocking on my door when I have do not disturb tag hanging, if you arrive late at night your reservation may disappear, parking is stupid expensive considering cost of room, no parking for large vehicles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would definitely recommend it . I am going to stay more over there
Cons: Everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved it here! Great place to stay! The staff is so friendly, definitely has a high end feel. Furnishings are very nice and unique layout. Very clean. Bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend getting room service. The restaurant in the hotel is to die for. They accept pets and welcome them with open arms. Valet service for $24 per night is very worth it! Lovely hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I enjoy staying here because it's always modern, clean, sophisticated and welcoming. They are so friendly and the rooms have these fun and creative amenities, like yoga mats & animal print bathrobes. We often have overnight lay-overs and roadtrip pit-stops in Salt Lake City and the Kimpton Monaco never disappoints.
Cons: No complaints
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so nice and very accommodating! Their Bambora resturant was amazing! The best food I've ever had! It was so good that we ate there for dinner and breakfast. Wine/social hour was very relaxing. It was a fabulous get away!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was unbelievably attentive. When they say, “If you forgot something at home, we’ll get it for you”, they went beyond any expectation I could have had. Not once, but twice. Restaurant Bombara is a top class place, a play that other hotels should follow. Put a great place to eat under your roof. Don’t make it solely about margins for the overall hotel. Bring in a motivated exec chef to do something special.
Cons: 5th time in the hotel over 6 years. Still looking for what I don’t like
6.8 Good
Pros: Restaurant was very good - except for the dogs. Staff was helpful and friendly
Cons: Dogs
7.4 Good
Pros: Room, location, bed, view
Cons: Girl that checked us in put us in the wrong room and when told did it again. I went to remedy and was told that hotels.com could not reserve the room I requested and that I would need to request refund from them. I went back to wrong room, called hotels.com and miraculously the correct room opened up! Yeah for hotels.com

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Light rail stop right out front. Half a block to the convention center. Only feet from the Salt Lake Temple if you are interested in sightseeing
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean, functional bathroom. The room was quiet, and location was within walking distance to where I needed to be. I would go back!
Cons: The room was very small, but as I was alone, that wasn’t an issue. It would have been tight with a second adult.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, great location, has been recently updated with décor, bed was very comfortable, room was clean, free internet with good service
Cons: Staff was knowledgeable but a little slow, price was a high versus other locations of similar quality, not a modern or chic building but very serviceable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: VERRY CONVENENT FOR MY STAY AS I WAS IN THE DAYS OF 47 PARADE AND I LIVE IN CACHE VALLY. I BOOKED AT THE RIGHT TIME. GOOD RATES .
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Unplanned overnight in Salt Lake due to flight cancellation. Hotel is ideally located (really is adjacent to Temple Square and City Creek). Squeaky clean. Deco lifted from a set of "The Americans," or maybe something five or ten years earlier. Not old, just old.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in the heart of Salt Lake City across of Temple Square, across of Abravanel Hall, and City Creek Shopping Center. The free fare zone helped to get around using the train in front of the hotel and several buses nearby. Nice view of the city from the hotel.
Cons: I found a few stains on the upper part of the shower curtain, lack of space to put luggage down, and a cold draft coming from the balcony door even though it was closed. This was mainly due to the snow storm though.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location!
Cons: The water in the morning would be hot and then cold- not very comfortable!
7.7 Good
Pros: Nice place, great location and walking distance to shopping mall. Hotel room clean and spacious.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located next to Temple Square, within walking distance of the convention center. Easy access to lots of local restaurants/shops/bars. The staff was always very nice, and the light rail from the airport stops directly in front of the hotel. My room also had a great view of the Temple Square area and the mountains in the background.
Cons: Not a very big room, although I didn't need a lot of space as a solo business traveler. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in, but it could have been much worse. They offered the option to not wash the sheets every day if desired (in order to save water and resources), which I appreciated, but did not offer to do the same for the towels.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location to downtown! The rooms were pretty good quality and appear to be updated.
Cons: I visited while the outside temp was 105 and the interior hallways to the rooms matched that or exceeded that. The room AC was great but the halls were too hot.
4.5 OK
Pros: Within walking distance to city creek
Cons: Room was very small. Run down. Needs up dated. Not worth the money. Water hot then cold in shower. Staff was ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything we came to Salt Lake City for is within walking distance of the Salt Lake Plaza & at a very reasonable price. This was my second visit & would stay again when I return to town.
Cons: It would be nice if parking were included in the rate, but the $5.00 fee is reasonable & parking is secure.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the facilities were very nice. The young man who first met us as we drove up was very, very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had trouble getting connected to the Wi-Fi. When we did (with the help of their out-sourced IT) it was a very weak signal. Also, when we got to the hotel, the place seemed a bit chaotic with wedding guests, wedding parties and tons of people clogging the entry way.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: The daily parking seemed a little steep given both the parking garage and surrounding streets were basically empty.
8.2 Excellent
Cons: The heater was loud in the room which made it hard to sleep.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The view
Cons: Bathroom Filthy carpets Dated rooms
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are clean and comfortable

9.4 Excellent
Pros: I always stay at the Hilton, it's great location and pretty luxury althought there's many more luxury hotels, Hilton is great in price and location, close to bars and City Creek Mall
Cons: The extra charge for parking should be included with the stay
6.8 Good
Pros: The firepits and lounge area
Cons: No outside pool or hot tub. Room wasn't as nice as I was expecting for the money.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: I didn't like that you had to pay for parking each day and you had to pay for WiFi.

7.7 Good
Pros: The beds were very comfy and the decor and location were nice.
Cons: When the heater turned on, it was excessively loud (hard to sleep through) and the bathroom fan was very loud as well.
7.4 Good
Pros: Clean. Vintage.
Cons: A/C didn't work and it was way too hot. Rooms were tiny and a bit cramped.
4.2 OK
Cons: The building smelt old and so did the room, I was worried my cloths would take on the smell so I left. The toilet was pretty much right next to the wall with the towel rack right over it so you couldn't go to the bathroom with out removing the towels first. The room was very small as well.
6.8 Good
Pros: The elevator that only holds 2 people and works intermittently.
Cons: Kinda worn and musty.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The Peery is located conveniently to great restaurants, the Salt Palace, and downtown SLC. I was able to walk everywhere I went. The airport was only 15 minutes away by Uber. All the staff were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has that boutique charm and has been redone beautifully.
Cons: I was there during some unseasonably warm days. Being on third floor, all the heat seemed to come up to my room. Apparently, because of the age of the building, they can only turn on the heat OR the AC. I sweltered the first night. The next day I asked at the desk and they told me to leave the HV/AC system off and my room would cool down. Normally, that may have been true, but due to the warm days, it didn't happen. They then got me a box fan, which helped tremendously. I was more comfortable for the rest of my stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, location is fantastic!! It is old and has less amenities but this was no surprise as we reviewed the comments from other travellers. Breakfast is fine nothing special ! But overall it is a great value for what you get.
Cons: Did not like having to pay for parking !!!!!!! Again the breakfast was nothing special and the internet in the room was slow but I did find that the internet down in the business room was fine!
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Cozy
7.4 Good
Pros: Location and charm. Friendly staff.
Cons: Internet connection is extremely slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was amazing and the bathroom was massive
Cons: The room did get a little cold at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully updated hotel, clean, big rooms, comfortable mattress, and friendly service.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful, even going so far as to loan me a phone charger because I left mine at home! The hotel is a 15 minute was to the Family History Library, right through downtown. The lobby is very nice. The room was perfect for my needs, clean and simple. It's not the Ritz, but that's not what you're paying for! Great value. I'd stay here agin on a trip to Salt Lake.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great. Friendly, helpful and professional.
Cons: The key card system was broken, so no room keys. Quite a hassle.
