Check to make sure the vehicles is fully functioning and if you notice anything wrong, tell them immediately or they may claim that you damaged the vehicle. I had a slow leak in a tire which I just kept filling because it was Christmas and I had shopping to do, but when I took it back they tried to claim that I needed to fix the tire. I pushed back and to their credit they relented, so all is well. But be ready for anything!

Take stops along the way (great signs for rest stops and they have bathrooms) and watch out for the trucks, as sometimes they swerve into your lane. Our pickup time was at 10am and we did not receive a car in SLC until 3:30pm. This caused us to have quite a bit of inconvenience in having to leave the AVIS rental location and wait until they called us later in the day when a car was ready. While we received a nice rental vehicle, it wasn’t overly clean. The dropoff in Omaha went smoothly.

Took 15 minutes to get my drivers license registered, fill out forms, texting on cellphone, scanning QR codes. Not sure what was happening since i already had a reservation and filled out my details online, but took way too long. Anyway. I am thankful and appreciative of the service. Drop off at the airport was excellent.
It was so quick and easy using the contactless checkin. The car was great. The whole process was quick and easy. Will tent through Hertz again!

Staff ignored me, was unhelpful and I ultimately had to rent a car through another agency because the “Couldn’t help me.” They were unwilling to change my reservation and unwilling to give me a refund for a reservation for a rental car that was accidentally placed a week later. Terrible customer service and inconsiderate policies from the company upheld by the staff in person. This was the most negative experience of my trip
The front desk clerk made it seem like it was required for me to carry their insurance. Her question was, "Do you want just the basic insurance, or do you want the premium insurance." At first I told her just the Basic, but then as I was filling out the initials on the sheet I asked her, "But insurance isn't required if I have my own, right?" She said, "As long as your insurance covers it, no, it isn't required." I told her, "Okay, so my insurance will cover it, so I don't want the insurance coverage." She snatched the sheet off of the counter and said, "No worries.. that will just be refunded with your deposit." Instead, she turned in the sheet. I inquired with the manager when I got back and she was going to look into it and give me a call back, which has never happened. The front desk rep was there at the time I was talking with the Manager and we brought her over to get her memory of the situation. The rep said, "Yeah, that conversation is vaguely familiar. I do recall something like that happening", but that was it. The manager said she'd talk with her General Manager and return my call, which has never happened. The shuttle ride was fine, but the driver didn't get up and offer help for us to get onto or off of the shuttle. Throughout the experience, I felt like a Dollar Sign and not a human. As long as I'm out of their site, and they got their money, apparently they're good.

Terrible. I reserved a car with them for a noon pickup and arrived early evening of the same day and they said since I was late the car was no longer available and I had to pay $400.00 more dollars for the same car.
The car could’ve been cleaner when we got it but we knew we would soon get it dirty anyway. We had 7 people in a Chrysler Pacifica and it worked well for us and our luggage. Personnel were friendly and helpful at SLC airport.

The in airport pickup was great. The agent was great. The car worked great for me. The only reason why it didn’t get the top-top rating was because the poor desk agent had to switch between programs for 3rd party purchases (like kayak) and that took quite a while. For their sake I’d like to point out that’s inconvenient and not the way that most rental companies work. But it was a minor thing and overall I was very happy

CHECK CLOSING TIME! We booked the car for a 2pm pick-up, and this Enterprise closed at 2pm so I'm not sure why that was even an option. I was Ubering from Provo to get this Enterprise with 5 kids in tow. We arrived a few minutes late, and there was nobody there. Which meant we were stranded, and needed to get back to Boise that day. Ended up having to dish out more than $500 to get a car and get back to Boise. Yes, we should have been on time to our pick-up, unfortunately, circumstances didn't allow it. But again, I'm not sure why they would allow us to set a 2pm pick-up if they were closing at 2pm. Maybe this is a KAYAK problem.

I had a blowout on the freeway shortly after picking up the vehicle. Realized then they had rented me a car with no spare tire and I had to get towed at 10:30 at night. The next day they sent a tow truck to pick up the vehicle, but made me get my own ride to the airport to pick up a new rental. They did offer to pay for an Uber, but it was incredibly inconvenient. I had originally been told they would deliver me a new rental, but then they said they didn’t have the staff to do that. It literally took half a day to get all the arrangements in place and pick up the new car. After all that inconvenience, they only refunded me $120 from a two week rental. I will never, never, never, rent from Payless again.

NU Car really stepped in for me because I had to rent a car last minute because my previous company dropped the ball and didn’t have inventory. The rep was really kind and worked with me to find a great car for my trip that best fit my needs. She asked about the number of people, where I was going, etc. so she knew what to offer. It ended up being more expensive that I planned but for being a day of rental and for the higher tier we ended up going with, it was a good deal. Also for off airport rental companies, the NU Car shuttle runs really often. Twice as often as another one I tried. I would rent again

They rented us a car in Salt Lake City, knowing that we were going to the mountains that the tires were bald. We could not use the car cause it kept pinning in the rain and sliding in the snow. They told us that we had to get the car to the rental center in order to get a new car. Pretty hard to do in snow and rain.
I attempted to rent a car using Kayak. Pick up was scheduled for 3pm. I received a call from budget at 1pm stating that they were overbooked and that they may have a car at 6pm. While inconvenient, I agreed to pick up at 6 instead of 3. I ask if they would definitely have a car by 6 if I waited m, he said no, not a guarantee since they were overbooked. I ended up cancelling

Arrived 10 pm. Reservation was made in March. Three preregister e mails were sent. When I went to get the car I was told we have no cars. I said I have a reservation and was told we have no cars. I asked when they would have a car - 1 hour, 2 hours, the next morning. I was told they have no cars and that the employee did not work tomorrow. We had to try the other rental counters until one was able to rent us a car for 2 weeks. Another customer had the same experience at Budget. I will never rent from Budget again. They did not care about my reservation or problems at all.

No cars available for 15-20 customers, myself included. Had to wait an hour before I was finally assigned a car due to my FastBreak status, which I had to let the front counter know about - the system didn’t automatically detect my status.

No one at the Dollar counter so directed to hertz. Hertz said they could not access dollar’s system… so I went and rented with Alamo.

My experience was unacceptable. I arrived from my flight and the counter was closed. Even though my rental was booked for 8pm, they apparently aren’t open at that hour. I called customer service and they had no resolutions except coming back to the airport the following day, so I ended up having to pay twice the price at another company last minute so I could get to my child’s sports tournament. I will never use them again.

When we got to Salt Lake City to pick up the rental car that we had reserved, they did not have a vehicle to accommodate the amount of passengers as the rental car that we reserved. When we asked if they could accommodate us with two cards instead of one, the woman said no and walked away.

On the flight Dollar emailed "Slelect your car now" and go straight to your car. The SLC pickup island was vacant. Walked all the way back to the rental counter and found a line of 25-30 people waiting and one associate. We just left. We won't be back.

Although I confirmed ahead of my reservation time, and attempted to use the online checkin and pickup, I arrived to find a long line, one employee at the desk, and learned there was no inventory at the airport location. I’m just grateful that Dollar and Expedia gave me no problems in canceling my reservation.

I wanted to switch drivers and instead they charged me for an additional driver. Never knew the charges until my wife returned the vehicle.
I booked the rental for 8:30 pm. I called for the shuttle to take me from the airport to the rental office from the airport. It never came. By then, it was 9 pm and the rental desk was closed for the night. I was stuck at the airport with my children, suitcases and no rental. I had to do a last minute rental at another company for much more money. I’m never renting through a third party vendor, like kayak or Expedia ever again.

Car wasn’t ready even though we arrived 1.5 hours after our established pick up time. Kept saying it would be only 5-10 minutes longer, due to the car being dirtier than they thought. Confusion between check in agent & the rep that hands customer the keys over; needing additional signatures and logging the VIN & plates after we left the lot. Apparently they require you to take a video of the car before leaving, which we were not told. Confrontational drop off/check in rep because we didn’t have video. Felt very unprofessional & shady, won’t use again.

1. The website said they were located IN the SLC airport. They weren’t. 2. Went to the pick up point and had to wait 45 for their shuttle. Repeatedly tried to call and no answer. 3. Go there, hours are 8am-6pm. My departure flight left at 6am. I asked how am I supposed to get to the airport. They said get an Uber. At 4am?? 4. When the lady in front of me came back in and said the car they just gave her had a cracked windshield and the check engine light was on, i decided to forgo renting from them and called a friend for a ride. I went without a rental the entire visit because I was worried about my safety in a sketchy car they may give me and trying to find a safe Uber at 4am in the city. The location was a good 5+miles from the airport, so not even close.
Sixt ar SLC has been great. The pickup and drop off are quick, easy, and friendly. I have both times received an upgrade on the vehicle. The shuttle has always been right there for me both directions. The one downside the first time I rented from SIXT was that there's no signage to tell me where to find the shuttle. I had to ask lots of questions to find it. And it's a bit of a walk away, past all the rental cars and out to the curb, in case that makes a difference to someone.

Great customer service. I had to change my car for a 4WD, contacted Sixt via email, got an answer immediately. When I arrived to the airport took the shuttle, arrived in no time, the driver was very helpful and nice, at the office Antonio assisted us, very professional gave us all the options. I returned the car a different city, same excellent service, they took us to our hotel at the airport. Will definitely book my next rental with Sixt. Simply excellent!
Would have liked to have known that they do not have a shuttle waiting for passengers but they are on call only. It was cold, raining and windy and had to wait until I pulled up my email to call the customer service number and then be told going to be another 15 minutes before someone came for us.

The car I rented before this one in West Palm was the worst experience I ever had in my life and I’ve been running cars for 50 years. And I guess that’s why I was blessed with one of the best experiences I ever had with the car. Pick up was so easy the girls upfront were smart and easy-going. It was really a really relief that this Rental was so smooth.ahhhhhh

I have rented dozens of cars over the past few years and have never ever had an experience this bad. Terrible. Do not book a car here especially if you're a local. I went to pick up the car I reserved and pre-paid, I had a valid driver's license and my credit card with me but they wouldn't give me the car. They said they required a secondary proof of address ONLY FOR LOCALS, but wouldn't take my bank statements or my car insurance bill or my renter's insurance bill. They said it had to be a utility bill. I didn't have any, my utilities are included in rent so obviously I don't have utility bills. They didn't listen to anything I said and were extremely rude and inflexible. The manager was so rude I couldn't believe it. Had to take another Uber back to my office and now I'm fighting for a refund.
