The agent walked away from us to get breakfast before helping us. We were the only ones in line and he was the only agent. After he showed us our “midsize’ car, we refused the rental and we were told it was the only one available or there was a 25/day increase. We handed the contract back to him, walked over to Sixt and had excellent customer service for a lesser price. Will not rent from Dollar/Thrift again. Still amazed about the Starbucks incident - who leaves someone standing in line while you get something to eat!!Reviewed 6 Dec 2022

Overall, the car was great. We waited over an hour to get our car. Our reservation was for 1130 am and we didn't get our car until after 1 pm. We were told there was a car shortage due to the storm which is understandable, but we still had to pay the full amount even though we got the car over an hour lateReviewed 19 Oct 2022

Thrifty handled the reservation terribly. They had me and many other travelers waiting in line for hours on Saturday and Sunday to finally announce that they would not honor the reservation because it had not been paid in full in advance. There is a complete disconnect in the travel industry regarding how to handle crisis. According to the Wall Street Journal a total of 1,900 flights got cancelled this weekend due to weather and an alleged system update. Thousands of passengers got stranded in Florida and I was one of them. This is not about how me only, it is about how the industry responds to crisis, how hard is it to assess availability of vehicles against booked reservations and communicate with customers via text, e-mail or phone. Long line to get car at airport. I waited in line about 30 mins and I was one of the first that arrived. Only 3 at the counter with about 10 people in line waiting behind me. Since they should know when the pickup times are, when the flight arrives and about how rentals for that time period, you would think they would staff appropriately during that time. The economy car section was not that well identified and the attendant just pointed to a bunch of cars and said take one. The return process was ok but under staffed. One person checking in about 8 cars at a time. Again, they know the approximate return times and should staff appropriately. Other than that, the return process was pretty good. Car was clean and well kept, no complaints. Price was reasonable.Reviewed 27 Mar 2022
