Cons: I reserved a generic car on line that I thought would be a mid size car. The cost of an upgrade was double what I reserved. The Florida toll system was not explained and I see in the contract that I will be surcharged an outrageous "service fee" for tolls.
As it stands now, I would never rent from Dollar again.

Cons: The car smelled like herbs of the illegal type. They just sent you on your way to just find the car. They didn't do anything with my gas receipt upon return so I just had to come out of pocket. You'll be high pressured to buy insurance. Staff was friendly until it came time to pay. Paid three times the kayak amount.

Cons: There was an extra charge when we picked the car up at the counter. This was over one half of the price listed when booked. The stated price on kayak was not what the actual cost was even though the agreed upon price stated all fees were included. I will not rent from Dollar again

Fees and More Fees
Pros: The car was clean and drop off and pick up were easy to do.
Cons: I paid twice as much than the reported price on Kayak. I kept having to pay more fees and more fees. I felt cheated.
Pros: Although they initially directed me to a Chrysler convertible (hard top, small boot) the assistant got me a Mustang (soft top, big boot) and we had a great holiday.

Pros: Loved Chrysler Town n Country! Very versatile vehicle and it was very clean. Drove nice and was very comfortable on a 700+ mile drive.
Cons: Honestly, nothing. The whole experience was quick, seamless and professionally done on both the rental location and the drop off. Will definitely rent from Alamo again.

Cons: They found a paint scratch on the mirror housing and wanted to know how it got there. It was there when I was given the vehicle. It was an old scratch. At FLL they just send you to a car with no agent to review the car. They said that was ok, just fill out the form and there would bee no charge to me. It would go back to FLL Alamo for them to take care of.

Cons: I kept the car for 2 days longer and it cost me $170.xx that's outrageous, and I will be contacting Fox directly. I had the rental for 11 days and 2 extra days. For 11 days it was $320.xx with prepaid fuel. my total was $490.xx F$*king crazy. Never again will I do that. Most of all the biggest problem I had was the fact that both cars I had were experiencing some type of mechanical problem. The Hyundai I rented needed a CV joint or Drive axel. had to bring it back and waste about 1 hour of my time during a busy work-week for myself. Then I got a 2014 Ford focus SE with the well-known (according to google) transmission problem at 50k miles. Super annoying.

Pros: Car worked. Car was clean.
Cons: 1. Extra fees. The estimate for two days was $83. It ended up costing $130 with an additional $150 deposit that takes a week to return.
2. Bad attitudes. I get that the employees don't get paid much, but everyone was grumpy and crabby about doing their job.
3. Weird smell in the car. They sprayed it with something nasty like cherry and almonds. It went away in a day with the windows down.

Cons: Declined coverage two times when asked and the guy put it on anyway. Very poor customer service, called several times to talk to a manager named Robert and nobody will return my calls. Never renting from here again. Save yourself the trouble and go with someone else.
Pros: Everything was just perfect, the car was very comfortable, the way front desk personnel treated us was just fine, they provided valuable information and everything else was ok.

Hertz and Kayak stink
Cons: When I made the Kayak I listed FLL as the pick-up location. When my flighf arrived at the airport they said the reservation was for downtown Ft Lauderdale. How was I to know where the location is from the reservation sheet? It did not say it was downtown! Kayak doesn't have a telephone number for reservation problems,
The Hertz people gave me a very hard time switching locations for more than double the price. When I went to get the car they said to go to row A (don't recall the row} and to pick out any car I wanted. There was only one car there and it was all scratched up. Never again!!!!

I reserved a Toyota Corolla sized car on-line. Was asked several times if I wanted to upgrade from Toyota Corolla/similar to an SUV or other larger car. Said no each time. Did not examine the printout carefully at the Kiosk. Got out to the garage and found I had been upgraded to a Toyota Camry - price went up from 138 to 166. By then I did not have time to go back and straighten it out so I kept the Camry.

This time we got to the airport to pick up our car and were told the car we rented was off site. Well being under a time constaint, we needed to get a car and get going. Well the agent proceeds to tell us that he couldn't honor the price given for the car we requested, even though it was same size car. The price we were charged was significantly higher, " nothing I can do about it", in other words "gotcha!" Never Rent from you again. Warning People not an ethical company.!!

Pros: I can't think of a single good thing to say about this experience.
Cons: We were ripped off in several ways which will prevent us from ever using this rental company again. The sad thing is, we travel more than half the year and when we find a good company, we stick to it. This company has lost our business for life. We were charged a whopping $60 for a toll pass which we were told the tolls without this pass would tally up to around $200 roundtrip. This was a HUGE lie. We not only checked this story online but actually called the state of Florida and were informed our tolls roundtrip would actually be around $15. Not only that, but a pass, available to us online and instantly, would cost us $5. That's right! FIVE DOLLARS. The GPS system was so old and inefficient that it was completely useless. The final and worst issue was, we had reserved a full size car online days in advance with a firm price. Once we arrived, however, we were given a compact size. When we informed them we'd already reserved a full size, they upcharged $100 more. When we double checked the price we were given for a full size car, they told us to take it up with corporate. I pray everyone reads this and takes heed to this very solid advice... GO TO ANY OTHER CAR RENTAL PLACE ON THE PLANET, JUST DON'T GO HERE!!!

Pickup and Dropoff was misleading and created havoc.
Cons: The information I received was misleading and NOT correct regarding pickup and dropoff. I wanted to pickup the vehicle at the Fort Lauderdale airport not Port Everglades. Also, I was told there was an after hours drop off at Port Everglades, which was not the case. This created havoc with 4 small children and an angry wife; not how you want to start or end a vacation.
Pros: We a ordered an intermediate car and ended up with an economy size after an hour wait.

Cons: price quoted online was from 120-170$, the total was 300. yes, I understand with anything travel related you're gonna have some taxes and other stuff not listed, but this was DOUBLE the expected price. Rental OK Customer Service Awful

Cons: We landed late in Fort Lauderdale around 10:40 by the time we reached the Advantage counter it was close to 11:30 p.m. There were 3 employees one called me up we began David the agent proceeds to tell me that I need proof of insurance. I was taken back....I asked why. I was told it's our company policy. I have never heard of this with any rental company and I travel alot. I asked if I could bring my insurance up on my phone. David replied No we need the paper. He handed me a piece of paper with he wrote this fax numer 954-359-4025 & wrote Declaration Page. Then asked me to step to the side while he wait on the next customer. At this point I'm frantic. I'm traveling with my teenager it's midnight and I have to still travel an hour and a half to my destination. I call my husband to see if another rental company can help me. While waiting I asked another agent Angela if this insurance policy is with all rental companies in the state of FL and new since my husband was there the week before me and rented with another company. Angela explained it's for FL locals. The agent David who waited on me never asked if I was traveling thru FL but assumed I was a local since I have a FL driver license. I no longer live in the state I explained. Angela tells me oh as long as you have your flight information you don't need proof of insurance. I was so Annoyed and Frustrated that they Did Not disclose this information up front. I had to ask questions. In other words you're not a valuable customer and I don't have to go above and beyond to assist you. There was No issue since I no longer reside in the state of Florida. If only David would have asked. I will not rent from Advantage again nor recommend them. I asked if there was a chance I could get a different SUV without missing a beat Nope this is it. Not even a pretend let me check or we have this. Terrible! Terrible! Customer Service. How do you allow a woman traveling with her teenage daughter to just stand at your counter and not try to help them especially that late at night it's now close to 12:00 a.m.? Thankfully I did not have an issue with the rental car.

Pros: Everything with car great. Value is terrific.
Cons: Issue is pick-up and drop-off. Requires two shuttles to get to rental location, and the process to rent and return is not as efficient as it should be. If you want to decline insurance make sure you have an up-to-date insurance verification card with you. You will have to get your insurance agent on the phone if you do not. Had to wait on a car like many others once finished doing paperwork, and the time needed to return the car is unpredictable depending on whether that day they have a person checking you in, or you have to wait on the rental agent handling new renters to check you in.

Fort Lauderdale Airport
Pros: We did get a car that fit our needs pretty much perfectly, but we seemed to be lucky since their lot seems pretty sparse. It was the most affordable option, but you get what you pay for.
Cons: Warning, the Ace rental shop at FLL is not actually at the airport. You have to take a 5 minute shuttle ride out to it. We were not told about this and spent a few minutes trying to figure it out before asking one of the airport employees what to do. The car selection on the lot is pretty sparse and unlike a lot of other companies you do not get to pick the car on the lot, they assign you one.
Lastly, DO NOT buy the fastpass option for toll roads at this store unless you absolutely need it. They suggested getting it because we would "most likely need it" and that it was "pretty cheap". We even told them where we were going and they said there would be toll roads, but there weren't and it ended up costing us an extra ~$11/day.
In summary the Fort Lauderdale Ace Car rental shop was the least expensive option for us, but we got what we paid for and will be spending a bit more money to go somewhere else in the future.

Cons: ACE is not located at the Rental Car Center at Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL), a fact omitted from the confirming email. They are completely off site. You have to call them to find them. Pros: Vehicle was what I expected
Cons: I rented a vehicle for one day. I picked it up in Ft Lauderdale, and dropped it off the next morning in Orlando. I picked it up with 1/2 tank of gas, they told me to just make sure it has 1\2 tank when returned, which I did. I was told they would note it in their computer, and there would be no problems. When I returned it they tried to make me pay $9.50 a gallon because the tank wasn't full. Tried to call the budget rental in Ft Lauderdale for an hour during business hours and it just rang each time but no answer. Budget in Orlando had no solutions other than to have me pay. Terrible customer service!

Pros: Easy drop off place
Cons: I reserved the car for a 9pm pick up and it wasn't ready until almost 10pm. The car died on us and we had trouble getting it started again. The agent at the desk was not friendly and when we dropped it off, we told the man that the car needed to be checked before it went out again because it kept wanting to stall on us when we slowed down and he put it right back in operation while we were standing there waiting to catch a shuttle to the cruise port.

Pros: The value was exceptional, and the vehicle was in great shape.
Cons: The staff at the airport in FLL certainly don't get in a hurry. We returned a local Budget rental and picked our one way rental up in the same place, and it took an hour to do so. While the employees talked among themselves and played on their phones, a long line of customers waited for them.

Pros: The car itself was very nice.
Cons: We waited over an hour just to get the car. There was one person in line ahead of us. These people move at a mind blowingly slow speed. Once we got the car, it wasn't even well cleaned. There was trash in it and fingerprints everywhere. When we finally returned the car, there was no drop off process. We had to wait in the same long line again. It took over 30 minutes to return the car! Absolutely absurd.

You will be given an empty gas tank but tank will be marked as full
Pros: This rental did not go well. When I showed up, I was given a car with a flat tire. No big deal, they gave me a new car.
Cons: I noted the gas tank was at a quarter tank and came back in to tell the person who helped me. He said no worries, just bring it back how you got it. He did not make any notes. He did not mark my rental slip. When the car was returned, not only were they rude but they tried to extract money from me for not bringing it back with a full gas tank. I had a PICTURE of the dashboard with the gas gauge and they were still aggressive and rude. I had to threaten to deny any extra charges as fraud. Poor customer service.
Cons: Kayak did not book me at the airport! I guess they don't understand where people are. I had to take a larger car for twice the money because it would have been even more if I had to take a taxi to an unknown destination in the city! I won't use kayak again.

Pros: Nothing, I did not get the car class I reserved and waited for more than an hour after my reserved pickup time to get a car.
Cons: They kept me more than an hour waiting an explained that Enterprise frequently rents mor cars than they actually have. The told me "that's just the way it is."

Cons: Rented a large size car, they gave me a Nissan Sentra.
This car was a 2016, with 10,000 Miles millage, had a flat tire and had to pay 90 dollars to have a new tire.
When we arrive there, I had to call my insurance co. in Canada. to proved the young black lady in the office that I had all the covers on my policy. She talked with them for almost Half an hour on my cell phone for getting from them by fax all the documents she was asking for. I have rented many cars in my life and never had a service like this before. I was so angry when I left the place. I told Juan a very nice and polite gentlemen who is working there all my worries about was going there, he said that he was going to talk to Mike and see what Mike will do about it. Now I'm back to Canada and trying to find a document that will prove that I asked for a Large size car and they gaved me a compact one. What a shame. Pros: Great service and fine people,esp. Billy at the Naples store.
Cons: The pricing wasn't transparent - I had thought that the price paid online, plus the additional insurance I bought would be the entire cost. Turns out there is also third-party insurance that can be bought only at the pickup counter.
Additionally, the information given at the pickup counter wasn't clear. We needed to ask questions several times, especially regarding the toll option in Florida. In the end we had to call customer service again regarding the tolls (see next item).
Customer service was poor. The phone number given at the checkout counter was for the Orlando office, whereas we had rented in Fort Lauderdale. Further, after calling customer service for a day we could only get through to voice mail. Left a message asking to be called back, buy that didn't happen. The next day we made it through to a representative.

Overall great value, but mediocre pick-up/drop off
Pros: The price was great ($20/day for a Camry) and the location was conveniently placed in the rental center.
Cons: The pick-up/drop-off experience was below average. The attendants at the counter took too long to check out other customers. They spent too much time trying to sell dumb add-ons like insurance and SunPass, which are both rip offs, and not working on getting people in their cars and on their way. Also, the first car we got smelled like cigarettes, so we had to change out for another one. Upon return, nobody was around to tell us where to park the car. I also found out after the fact that they charged me for an entire extra day for keeping the car for an extra 3 hours beyond my reservation time. Their "hourly" rate was about 35% of a whole day! This wasn't well communicated to me on the front end. Notwithstanding these issues, however, I thought I got what I paid for.

Pros: I liked everything using EZ rent a car, from Monica greeting me by there counter and passing me along to the guy behind the counter I forgot his name but anyway he checked me in quick went over everything and I was on my way within 15 minutes. I would recommend anyone that needs to rent a car to use them

Perfect and Easy
Pros: It was easy to find. Staff was personable. In and out quick. Vehicle was just what we wanted. Smoothest part of our vacation.

Rental car without power windows or locks in 2016?
Pros: AC worked in Miami heat
Cons: Employee encouraged me to upgrade but did NOT inform me of the lack of features in my rental:
NO power locks
NO power windows
black interior gets SUPER hot in Florida sun
$10/day for spouse when most other rental companies I've used include it for free
$8/day for toll pass (hardly used), no clear explanation of alternative offered by employee ("they don't have booths" so then is there even an option?!)
$200 hold that gets refunded is NOT explicitly stated in the contract and explanation offered by employee was insufficient (my husband is a lawyer)
Felt nickeled and dimed - cheapest price online but after added expenses at pick-up, felt I should have gone elsewhere that was more transparent
I will NOT use E-Z again.

NOT SO E-Z Rent-a-car
Cons: Check in was incredibly long process. Archaic compared to all other car rentals. Had to put up $200 deposit in addition to credit card which I've never experienced with other car rentals. Returned car 13 hours early and got no cost reduction consideration.

Cons: I don't mind the extra charges for fuel, road side, three different kinds of insurance, toll pass. I just think that it should be disclosed at the time of booking, not pickup.

Pros: Accepted debit card, rather than insisting on a credit card.
Cons: Lied to by rental agent who said additional days would be at the original rate.
Refused to adjust rate as promised.
Windows dirty. Stop light busted.

Extremely nice but slow
Pros: The agent was extremely sweet and helpful, but terribly slow. If I had been late or in a hurry, it would've been a problem.

Cons: Only issue was that it took us 20 minutes to find an attendant to let us through the gate and out of the garage. 4 or 5 others were having to wait as well.

Was not satisfied
Cons: They did not have the class size I reserved. They only offered a mini-van and wouldn't upgrade me. They referred me to EZ Rental. Was not happy with the car I was given. It had a serious alignment issue. Only drove the car for 40 miles. Luckily someone I vacationed with had a rental too so was able to travel with them. Not a fan of EZ or Payless.

Rental was fine overall.
Pros: Efficient car pick-up and return. Car wash at pick-up could have left exterior of car cleaner.
Cons: Drop off needs to be more organized, had to drop off in a parking lot behind the building and drag my luggage around to the front to return the key to the Avis representative.

Poor overall experience
Cons: The service at the rental counter was super slow. The car wasn't very clean inside and it smelled. The car's touch screen didn't work so we couldn't control the radio or any of the car options.

Easy Pickup at Avis in Ft.Lauderdale
Pros: The Avis agent was helpful and friendly. Pickup was smooth. They were out of the car group I had rented, but upgraded me to another size at the same rate.

Avis is my new go to for car rentals
Pros: Customer service was amazing. They went above and beyond to take care of us! The manager Christina was amazing!

Refill your own tank before returning
Pros: Service was fine and efficient, except that the gas policy was either misrepresented or poorly represented at the pickup counter.
Cons: At pickup, the agent said "it's really not worth filling up your car with gas before returning it because we have better gas prices than most pumps." What he didn't say, (but undoubtedly was in the fine print) was, "we charge you for the whole tank, even if you return it 3/4 full...".

Late fee ridiculous
Cons: The staff at the Fort Lauderdale Airport were unhelpful and rude.
Also, the late delivery fee is ridiculous. Getting charged a full day for being an hour late does not leave you feeling good about Avis. Speaking as a former employee of Avis, this has been a disappointing experience.
Cons: Worst car rental company I have ever dealt with. they are a scam and Kayak should stop showing them in the results. they are cheapest in per day prices but at the desk, they ask for money for everything. if you want to use your insurance you still have to pay for processing fees $4 per day just in case if there is an accident and they have to do any paperwork. Loss of use insurance. all kind of weird things. never interact with them. they are a BIG SCAM

Cons: When I went To pick up the car, I found out I could not use my own Sunpass account. I had to use Economy's! And, I was being charged $9.95 a day whether I used tolls or not. This was not mentioned anywhere when I went to book the rental online. The only other option I was given was to pay out right for the tolls at the toll booths plus pay an additional $50 to Economy! Very disappointed and will not use their cars again.

Cons: Lots of added fees. $9 turned into $36, proof of insurance required. if not, mandatory to get. due to this and other fees they could have just included in the price posted, people kept arguing about the cost. stood in line for one hour with only 6 people in front of me. each person took about 20-30 minutes to book. limited mileage per day. better to go with budget.

Didn't honor agreed price
Pros: Car was ok. A bit old, had no USB port so had to buy one for cig lighter.
Cons: Mandatory fees for: 1) waiving the insurance and 2) their "loss of use" of the vehicle. These charges increased the price by over 50%. I intend to never use Economy Rent A Car again.

Taken for a ride
Pros: The drop off
Cons: Insurance shannenigans... according to Florida law apparently drivers need to provide liability coverage apart from collision coverage. So you expect to be able to use you car insurance rental coverage to address that. Economy in an attempt to sell their own coverage requires a letters, not just your card, to release you rental. If you don’t go with it you forfeit you prepayment. Also they don’t allow for couples to use credit card from the spouse for payment... but they only tell you at the store and then they charge you 5% of the already paid amount to change cards...or you have to pay a daily fee for the spouse to be a second driver...
I requested to see all that in writing when I asked why that info was not provide during the online purchase and they don’t have it. But pushed a 20 page stack in front of me to pretend they did...
Checking out took us 1.5hrs... cause all other costumers had to deal with the same surprises... Shamefull fiasco! Not the beginning of a vacation you look forward to.
Thanks Kayak for the bad taste in our mouths, but your referral was more like an ambush then a welcome party.

Pros: The car was clean and the drop off was easy.
Cons: They give you the cheapest prices up front but when you get there it’s plus, plus, plus. Make sure you read the terms and conditions word for word, because they hide a lot in there and once you’re at their counter, you’re screwed. I ended up having to pay $75 more than anticipated because you have to have a certain Amount of liability coverage, or you have to buy theirs. Florida’s drivers get an added surcharge and DO NOT get unlimited miles. Read, read, read. And the girl at the counter was very rude. Would NOT recommend this company at all.

Don’t rent from them
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: They want to charge me more than my prepaid rental fee because I didn’t bring my declaration insurance papers. When I decided I could not afford their insurance even though I paid with a credit card that covers the car, they would not rent my vehicle to a man waiting to rent a car. They had no others available that day for him except the one I canceled.
Cons: Wouldn't honor kayak price, charged me more than advertised

Cons: Unfortunately our GPS was not working and I was originally told to come get a new on. This during major traffic hours...I was able to work it out where instead of 4 hours in traffic I purchased a GPS and had the charge taken off my bill. For my inconvenience I was also able to bring the vehicle back basically empty so the whole thing only cost me about $25 out of pocket. The folks at National definitely reached out to make it right. I would use KAYAK again for sure!

Pros: Last minute rental and the pricing was excellent for a one way deal; clean and excellent customer service.
Cons: That I didn't get a confirmation email from Kayak at booking
Cons: Waited forever for shuttle and no more SUVs available. Rented a Yukon on your site and ended up with a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Pros: Took an inexpensive option but wasn't given a cheap car. Car (Toyota Camry) was clean, in great shape and drove very well. Shuttle service was easy to use and didn't wait more than 5 minutes when picking up or returning the car.
