Cons: "The landing was poor , almost to a point of dangerous . Too much turbulence during flight. And the drops should have been avoidable"

We were expected to pay a fee at the counter but was charged $170 for the counter checkin of one bag. This price was not listed or posted anywhere during the booking or via email for mobile check-in."
Cons: "Crew was so busy that they kept overlooking my husband and I when doing the rounds of everything, We felt like we were singled out to be ignored, even though we paid for Premium Economy. Our flight was delayed for more than an hour. Food was barely ok even though we had been on Air NZ Premium economy 4 times now, was sorely disappointed with the food provided."

I challenged the high baggage fee with other Air New Zealand staff, to no avail. I was told that the checked baggage cost for 1 bag had recently gone up from $120 NZD to $170 NZD."

The flight attendants were excellent, friendly, warm attentive presenting the very best of Kiwi hospitality."

Pros: "Air New Zealand is one of the best air experiences we've had. Employees seem to enjoy their jobs and are usually happy. Very service oriented. Ground staff and check in terrific. Why can't USA folks and TSA figure this out? Updates from flight deck were good and pilot seemed to avoid some expected turbulence. Cabin crew friendly, competent, helpful. Food was very good, nice touch with comp wine. Entertainment options were many and good variety. Hope to fly ANZ again someday."

The only down fall would be that I had to pay for movies and a meal wasn’t included with my flight, but that’s minor. Also, baggage cost me 120.AUD for one bag! I thought that was pretty outrageous for one check in bag. But the pilot was very good and informative as the overall flight was smooth. Thanks again air New Zealand."

Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia kept handing me off to each other since it was booked as virgin Australia but on an air New Zealand flight. Neither wanted to help at first. Finally virgin Australia ticket agent took pity and helped me rebook for the next day. This was after I was told by air New Zealand that I had to call the booking number for virgin Australia. I’m traveling from the US and didn’t have a cell phone that worked in Australia... which I explained and asked how I could call the number without a phone. Was promptly told to go over to Virgin Australia ticket counter where I made the one remaining agent who was closing the desks help me. However the airport lost my luggage and could not find where it was. I ended up spending three hours in the airport and still no luggage with the baggage company saying they have no record of it anywhere. Very frustrating trip."

Words really cannot describe our feelings towards our treatment and lack of any empathy from the airline, who took a booking and then cancelled it in record and and said there is no other flights! Thanks for that - never again."

Cons: "We were charged over $300 (NZ) for the check in luggage!!! I told the agent this is ridiculous, our seats were only $159 (NZ). She said that I should have read the "terms & conditions." Like other reviewers, I booked this flight over 3 months ago and didn't take note of any extra charges for checked-in luggage. After reading the comments of others in the same situation, I realize that I'm not alone. I wish I had checked out these reviews of Jetstar BEFORE I booked. You would be doing your clients a big favor to include mention of this strange practice of not including luggage fees by Jetstar..and warn them that these fees could bring the total cost of their airfare to over $500 for a 100 minute domestic flight for 2 travelers. My husband said next time we're going through a travel agent. Sorry"

Cons: "The website and customer service are annoyingly difficult to use, potentially designed to force you to pay more for extras like bags. For instance, if you pay for your bag ahead of time, it is meant to be cheaper. I tried to pay for my bag ahead of time and it took me to a check-in page. I tried multiple times but only ever got to the same check-in page. Figuring that perhaps I needed to check in first, I did this step only to find that if you pay for your bag after check in, it costs more money!! On the return trip, I felt wiser so I refused to fill in the check-in page before paying for baggage. I exhausted every possible link on their website and ultimately had to call customer service. This took an annoyingly long time. I was told when I tried to pay for a 15kg bag that they had run out of space on the plane and I couldn't pay for this; however, I COULD pay for a 20kg bag at a higher price. WHAT? As I was told this was my only option, I took it, but the logic defies reason and makes me conclude that their systems are simply designed to force you to pay for extras. If I had it to do over, I would just book Air New Zealand for an extra $50-- it would save me plenty of time and hassle."
Pros: "We selected this flight with no knowledge of this airline, as we were coming from the states. Being international traveling for three weeks obviously we had some luggage with us. This domestic flight does not allow any free check in, and you are only allowed 7 kg as a carry-on. You also have to pre-pay for your check in baggage before you get to the airport otherwise you are charged three times the price. If you don't know all of this before you go, you will be in big trouble. I do not recommend this airline for international travelers."

Cons: "There was literally no where to check in our bags online. We even asked our hotel concierge to look into how we could claim our bags and they could not find anything either . Thankfully we went to the airport early, were told to look at our confirmation online from the check in folks and found absolutely nothing regarding baggage there . and ended up paying for our bags at a reasonable rate because it was prior to check in ; however , other travelers were not so fortunate and ended up paying $70 per check through bag because it was literally impossible to find any place to check them in and people were stuck in a difficult situation without a choice . additionally we were told that we were only allowed 7 kg poor person carry on Travelers beware of this - to our knowledge it happened to international travelers, May have been New Zealander as well but are not sure about that . additionally we were told that we were only allowed 7 kg per person for our carry-on total carry on. This also is nowhere to be found on the Jetstar website !!!! for every killer that you are over you are charged an additional $15! We did arrive safely and the flight was fine ."

Cons: "The Jetstar checkin staff. They are not very friendly. I was a few kilos overweight and I had nothing but grief from them - as well as my purse put on the scales - which added to the weight. I have never had my purse put on the scales before. I ended up having to pay $160.00 Australian for a few kilos. My fare did not even cost that much. As far as I am concerned Jetstar need a watchdog to take this up on travellers behalf. How can a few filos cost that much - when you can book your luggage through for $25.00."

Will inform everyone to avoid Jet Star airlines when they travel."

They could have easily put it in a small box, put it under the plane, and charge me $25 at the most for it. Instead I had to give it to the clerk at the counter because I only paid $20 for the item. Cons: "at check in we were told that there is normally a charge per kilo for all checked in baggage but that it would be waved. that was not stated at the time I bought the tickets online, otherwise I may have opted to use another airline. Using Jetstar was supposed to be an economical choice but given the baggage fees it ups the total and takes them out of consideration for me. I will not use them in the future, you inform people in advance, not hide fees until check in. I don't trust them now."
