Pros: "We flew Air Canada’s Economy Plus from Vancouver to Sydney and Air New Zealand’s Economy Plus from Auckland back to Vancouver. NZ’s Economy Plus product is far and above AC’s. Everything from the welcome, to the meal, to the level of service is great. I really felt that NZ treated the Econ Plus cabin as distinct from Economy (including having 2 dedicated washrooms), whereas on AC it felt like we were merely Economy with better seats. I compare NZ and AC because we were so genuinely impressed with what we purchased. We would definitely book NZ Econ Plus again, and the January seat sale is a great time to do so!"

I hope my luggage arrives like they say a day later."

Cons: "Though nothing completely egregious, my interaction with crew on the flight were the worst I have ever experienced when traveling. The first was after attempting to go to the bathroom mid-flight. This was an 11 hour flight. I'm not sure whether the captain forgot to turn off the seatbelt sign during the middle of the flight or if he anticipated turbulence, but the seatbelt sign was on for at a minimum, 45 minutes. After waking up I had the urge to go to the bathroom and walked back to try to get there. Once close to the bathroom a flight attending pointed in the other direction and said "sit down and put your seatbelt on." I expressed that I had to go to the bathroom and he again just repeated "go put your seatbelt on." I stood for another few seconds in disbelief that I would really be turned away from using the bathroom in the middle of a flight and during this short time of standing there he again repeated: "go put your seatbelt on." I would like to stress that there was absolutely no turbulence at this time. Whether or not this is protocol and any attendant would have told me the same, the attendant could use lessons in how to properly speak to people by having a better tone AND saying please. Explaining the situation would also be helpful instead of just using your power to command another adult to do something. After returning to my seat, I saw multiple other people also try to get up to go, who received the same fate, so it was obvious he was trying to adhere to the rules, but clearly if the fasten seatbelt sign has been on for over an hour at that point, you should be able to be an adult and put the situation in context; people need to use the bathroom on a long flight. My second poor interaction was at the conclusion of the flight. I was listening to music on my phone and hadn't heard the captain announcement that we should begin to prepare for landing. On ANY other flight I have EVER been on, the crew will come around and verbally ask people politely to put their seat up, return trays to their stored position, and unplug any USB electronics. One of the crew, without asking me first or even making eye contact, came up and unplugged my phone from being plugged in and manually put my seat up to upright position and walked away. This might seem like a simple thing, but you should NEVER touch someone else's property. Further, to place me upright without warning was extremely rude. If this flight had been the only flight I had with Cathay Pacific, I would never fly with this airline again, because it would have seemed to me that your crew lack social skills, are impolite, and may have language barriers. Luckily, my trip was round trip from NY to Bali and as such there were multiple connecting flights, and I had good experiences on all the rest. I really wish I had gotten the name of the 2 individuals I had a poor experience with, as I don't think they will help you in securing future customers."

Overall the service on this CX 889 flight seemed to be severely underpar for what I expect from Cathay"

The seats were comfortable and the food was quite tasty. All in all we were very pleased-also it was price friendly."

Main problem was that the inflight entertainment system did not work on two legs of a Sydney to London Heathrow flight. They tried very hard to fix it in Sydney and Singapore without success. Apart from that, a very comfprtable flight

His attitude -- that doing this is worthwhile -- is unusual and highly commendable. He immediately put people at ease. He was attentive, helpful, and very pleasant to all passengers throughout the very long journey. He was a remarkable crew member, turning a journey I had dreaded into one that was memorable."

Cons: "I am a frequent flyer with QANTAS and a regular customer for many years. Why then do I get the worst seats on the aircraft (last row without reclining). These seats are often assigned to me and they are extremely uncomfortable. I booked a paid fare and did not claim points. My FF preferred seats are mid-plane, aisle. The screen had very poor contrast and it was like watching through cloth. To make it worse the entertainment system had very poor sound with long periods of frozen frames and staccato sound making it difficult to follow the plot. My wife's system (also FF) was the same. Not happy with the "special welcome" given to FF passengers!"

When i did check 4 hours later, they told me to check in 2-3 days. When i checked in 2-3 days they asked if I filed a report. Which I wanted to on the same day but was told not needed. We asked to be seated on the tiles , as we are seniors we needed to get up regularly during the night (16 hour flight during the night) We were seated window and middle seats. The person on the aile was had a broken knee and was wheel- chaired on to the plane. As a result we could not get up to go to the bathroom. 4. Because we left late from Los Angles , we missed our connecting flight on to Auckland. Qantas was kind enough to apologise, put us on another flight and gave us vouchers worth a grand total of $10. 5. We then arrived 2 hours late in Auckland, where we missed our connecting flight to Wellington. 6. Our 2 bags that were checked-in at New York are still missing. This is being written 4 days left New York. 7. WE have since had to purchase new winter clothes."

Excellent service all staff where very friendly patient and efficient solved a boarding problem for me due to me not being able to access the visa portal for the USA.

The long flight from Fiji back to the US was partnered with Air Fiji and it was just a bit above average compared to our typical experience with Air NZ. The boarding experience was really good and much more organized than most airlines, which was nice. Plenty of bathrooms available, they came around with water frequently, which is a must on these long flghts, and every seat had their own screen for entertainment, which is very nice."

Half the crew was somewhat unpleasant and overlooked passengers trying to give them trash and even charitable contributions when they were going around collecting specifically those things. (The other half of the crew was the more typically amazing, customer oriented attitude.) Not sure if Air Fiji just over works its crew or what, but it was not as pleasant. The food was also back to typical just ok airplane food, not normal for Air NZ which has great food and lots of it. We also were not able to pick our seats for this flight, which was not ideal for comfort or location."

Flight from Chicago to Vancouver was 5 hours delayed, not even for weather. Canadian Transportation Authority requires $400 CAD compensation for each ticket flying into Canada for this level of delay. This was not offered by the airline to us.

Once we got on the flight everything was fine. The first leg of our flight was delayed 3 times but American sent us emails allowing us to chose a new itinerary.

The self check-in machines for AA were a little "buggy" and difficult to navigate but helpful staff was readily available as were the short lines. I am 6'2" and was impressed that I had adequate leg room in my seat."
