Pros: "I really like the Qatar flight from Auckland to Manchester. But beware now that the Akl leg leaves 1 hour later the transit in Doha is officially 1.15hr. But since the first leg is always getting in and you have to bus to the terminal, transit time is about 30 mins. Although they are efficient and i made it this time, i wouldn't want to do this with kids."

Cons: "Due to a misunderstanding at check-in we have been seated away from a baby bassinette (although booked) to sit together with my husband, nobody asked what my preference would be (sitting as a whole family or having a bassinette) and a 17-hour flight with a 9month old baby constantly on my lap was challenging. Also a very disappointing selection of films and documentaries for adults. I ended watching a kids movie with my older daughter and it was the only thing I found appealing. Kids section very good though, my 5-year old was glued to the screen and all the options had my approval :)"

I fly Hawaiian Airlines often and have never had this type of issue. I was surprised that none of the other crew members said anything to the noisy group of hosts/hostesses."

It was poorly organized. I was disappointed to pay for my only bag (which was carry-on size and only needed to be checked due to a liquid I was bringing home). I was disappointed to learn that the only in-flight entertainment I had available without paying was short documentary films about Hawaiian Airlines or their staff's travels. On a five hour flight it is particularly frustrating to have so little available. My Delta flight by contrast offered multiple movie titles. In fact, I could have gotten another flight for less $ with more entertainment (but going to a different city)."

We had to pick up our luggage and transport it to another drop point and no one there had a clue how the luggage was being organized - no surprise then that we arrived in Portland with 4/6 pieces of luggage. We were told it would be delivered to us - 2 days later still waiting. NOT impressed!"

Pros: "TSA is rediculous and affects how people interact with your customer servce. Your customer service in Honolulu needs a lot of work. Pointing people to a single counter person to obtain a seat on a plane after the person has already been on a 9 hour Hawaiian flight is beyond disrespectful. It is cruel. It was close to a couple of months that I had purchased the ticket and I get on the Plane in Auckland only to find I would need to process through TSA yet another time in order to get to the counter and obtain my seat. 3 hours in a TSA line allowed 20 minutes to get to that counter. I also needed to find a private space to give myself my insulin. I do not do that in public bathrooms or even my own bathroom..... but it never happened because I stood in Customs line and then Imigration line and yet again the third TSA line. I think TSA held up over 200 of us because they went to lunch. He were stopped still with absolutely no progress for over an hour."

She preferred to service a huge dog rather than myself, even though it was my turn . She also answered a male who cut in line rather than the person next in line. Cathy has been viewed as a sympathiser of “yellow” rioters because of its involvement by management n crew. Now it just brings it more to the memory how CX might be what the leaked reports that many equipment has been compromised by CX crew onboard. Many of CX customers are from middle class, and it could be a big turn-off. It is unwise to patronise a tabloid newspaper when the owner has been named by China as the culprit of the recent troubles in hk. It’s like offering Al Jazeera news on united airlines entertainment........During the whole trip, I was captivated by these thoughts."

There was not visible sense of urgency on part of the staff at Cathay Pacific and they did not seem to have a contingency plan to deal with such a situation. I especially felt sorry for some of the elderly people who were also in line all that time with noting to drink and no place to sit."

Cons: "Though nothing completely egregious, my interaction with crew on the flight were the worst I have ever experienced when traveling. The first was after attempting to go to the bathroom mid-flight. This was an 11 hour flight. I'm not sure whether the captain forgot to turn off the seatbelt sign during the middle of the flight or if he anticipated turbulence, but the seatbelt sign was on for at a minimum, 45 minutes. After waking up I had the urge to go to the bathroom and walked back to try to get there. Once close to the bathroom a flight attending pointed in the other direction and said "sit down and put your seatbelt on." I expressed that I had to go to the bathroom and he again just repeated "go put your seatbelt on." I stood for another few seconds in disbelief that I would really be turned away from using the bathroom in the middle of a flight and during this short time of standing there he again repeated: "go put your seatbelt on." I would like to stress that there was absolutely no turbulence at this time. Whether or not this is protocol and any attendant would have told me the same, the attendant could use lessons in how to properly speak to people by having a better tone AND saying please. Explaining the situation would also be helpful instead of just using your power to command another adult to do something. After returning to my seat, I saw multiple other people also try to get up to go, who received the same fate, so it was obvious he was trying to adhere to the rules, but clearly if the fasten seatbelt sign has been on for over an hour at that point, you should be able to be an adult and put the situation in context; people need to use the bathroom on a long flight. My second poor interaction was at the conclusion of the flight. I was listening to music on my phone and hadn't heard the captain announcement that we should begin to prepare for landing. On ANY other flight I have EVER been on, the crew will come around and verbally ask people politely to put their seat up, return trays to their stored position, and unplug any USB electronics. One of the crew, without asking me first or even making eye contact, came up and unplugged my phone from being plugged in and manually put my seat up to upright position and walked away. This might seem like a simple thing, but you should NEVER touch someone else's property. Further, to place me upright without warning was extremely rude. If this flight had been the only flight I had with Cathay Pacific, I would never fly with this airline again, because it would have seemed to me that your crew lack social skills, are impolite, and may have language barriers. Luckily, my trip was round trip from NY to Bali and as such there were multiple connecting flights, and I had good experiences on all the rest. I really wish I had gotten the name of the 2 individuals I had a poor experience with, as I don't think they will help you in securing future customers."

The flight attendants were also really conscientious but also discrete about making sure that things were comfortable to passengers, for example making sure that windows were closed most of the time and lights were down so that people could sleep in between meals, and moving someone that was sick to a more comfortable and private seat, both for the sake of the sick individual and for the comfort of the people that had initially been sitting around them. -The complementary movie options were great and really helped pass the time on the 24+hr flight from NYC to Western Australia. -1 free large checked bag, which was very nice. -I think the complementary food and snacks were really yummy and generous, for airline food. I very much enjoyed the meals and snacks. Also, the complementary wine was a nice treat and tasted surprisingly good. -The complementary pillows and blankets were nice, warm, and soft. -The flights were on time, much better than American airlines that I've flown on. -The bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the flight and were much cleaner and nicer smelling than other airlines that I've been on."
Cons: "The only thing thing that could really be improved upon (which is not as much the airline's fault as the plane manufacturer's fault) is that the economy seats and cabin layout could be more comfortable for long flights. I understand how hard it must be to design a plane that fits that many people and that's comfortable for 24+hrs of flying, but a few improvements could relatively easily be made I think, which would improve the experience dramatically: -If the seats were softer (and perhaps more ergonomically designed with an average person's shape in mind) it would make a world of difference, I think. -Being able to put the arm up on the wall side of the window seat would make it much more comfortable. -Padding on the arms would also help. -Of course more leg space and wider seats would make a world of difference, but I know that is tough to do since space is limited."

Quantas delays in Melbourne wiped that out forcing me to pay $500 NZD for a later flight on Air NZ. After contacting with Air NZ customer service and explaining the circumstances, they reduced it to $100 NZD. Pretty cool. Quantas basically said that since I had purchased a rock bottom priced ticket I should take a flying you know what at a rolling donut."

Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."

We could not check in online, and it wasn't even possible to choose a seat before you got to the airport unless you wanted to pay a premium for it. To make matters worse, there is no transparency in the process; we had no idea what seats they were assigning us, or even whether the three of us would be able to sit together. And when we showed up at the airport, the last leg of my flight had been deleted from my itinerary (but not that of my family members). And guess what? They couldn't do anything about it until I was ready to get on that last flight! The crew were great, but all the behind-the-scenes aspects of Qantas were absolutely horrible. Two days later I'm still reeling from the experience. What a terrible way to treat customers."

Also, the delay in the end was 2h 20 min - and I lost my flight to Luxembourg."

While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

Of course the hotel only take you until 12pm so I spend so many hours in the airport waiting for re ticketing they told us to be at 6pm we wait and I got my ticket leaving at 9.45pm but the crew come one hour and half late. From Panama to Lima flight was late . I had a conference very important to be Saturday morning, I lost my investment and relationships with the company I was going to start a business there excuse was they couldn’t relay on my punctuality, honestly. I got there more than a day and half LATE. If you ask me how was my trip I will tell you horrible and I can’t recommend anybody, this company doesn’t have any personality at all"

Looked at the board and realized the gate had changed, had to run all the way back to the other gate and it wasn't boarding yet. When I mentioned all this to the gate agent, she told me i should have checked the board & refreshed my app...i refreshed my App 6 times and it still didn't update - i'm not an idiot but she made me feel like one. She had no sympathy and was not nice or helpful. When we got on the flight, realized it was empty and we were sitting WAY in the back when there were plenty of open seats, so we moved up thank God!"

The United Airline staff in San Francisco told me to pick up my luggage when I get to Seattle despite of the fact that my final destination was Vancouver. I questioned the staff about this ata this seemed odd, but he insisted that I pick up my luggage in Seattle. Upon arrival to Seattle I went to the baggage claim area to find out that my luggage was already put through to the connecting airline to Vancouver. This resulted in me having to go through a long line of passengers to do all of the security checks again to enter the international airport gates. This almost resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Vancouver. The only saving grace was that the flight was delayed by another hour. 3. Changes made on my connecting flights were only given to me during my check in at Auckland. My previous booking was Auckland -San Francisco - Portland - Vancouver. The boarding pass I was given in Auckland omitted Portland and was changed to Seattle. I was never informed about this by United Airlines. 4. United Airlines website NOT allowing me to log in using my e-mail."

Cons: "Never got to do this flight because of the previous flight which is reviewed below: My seat was broken and wouldn't stay in upright position. This really pissed off the passenger behind me. Crew kept telling me to put my seat upright, I kept having to tell them the seat was broken. Old airplane with no in-seat entertainment. they advertise on the seat that you can watch all their entertainment content for free, but then you have to pay for wifi to watch so it's not free then, is it? Every movie or show requires "additional software" so you have to purchase internet to do the download. This is an 11 hour flight, I would have appreciated being able to watch a movie or something without forking out $30. Flight was delayed, so we were low on time to make our connection. I asked a flight attendant twice if we could get help deplaning early or at least get moved up some rows since we were in the very back of a 747 (there were plenty of vacant seats). They said no, and told us that customs would only take a minute and that the other united flight knew we'd be coming and would wait. I don't usually fly united; other airlines typically will actively take steps to help (like moving connecting passengers to the front shortly before landing) if they are the cause of the delay. Customs had only one agent working and we were pretty much last in line so that process took over an hour. Just moving us 10 rows forward before landing would have made all the difference because our connecting flight closed its doors and taxied for takeoff less than 5 minutes before we arrived. They had some united employees guiding and directing a couple of passengers that were going to be late for a connection to LAX, but no help for those of us connecting to portland. Customer service didn't even offer a verbal apology. Last time I flew with united, I also had a terrible experience for different reasons. I did not intend to fly united for this flight, but I purchased tickets through and for Lufthansa, and this flight was regrettably operated by united. Another thing I don't like - the food was horrendous. It was a breakfast sandwich that was advertised as "hot and fresh" on the packaging but was served straight from the refrigerator. I was in the middle seats with one person to my left and two people to my right. Everyone took only one bite and threw away the rest. Just don't bother serving the food if it's going to be that bad, it's very wasteful. I always appreciate a hot towelette after a long overnight flight. United offered no such thing which was a first for me. Regarding boarding: they called us all up to line up in boarding groups and then we had to stand in line for 65 minutes. I have a bad back and had to sit on the carpet to avoid being last in line and not having space for my carry on bag. Would have been nicer if they would have just let us sit in the chairs at the gate in comfort until they were ready to board."
Pros: "The older planes of United Airlines could use some remodeling. The entertainment system with controls in the middle of the arm rest where the elbow rests is such a bad idea, didn't even bother with this crappy unintuitive system. It was annoying and flashy with bright advertisements or something popping up on a night time flight just sooooooo annoying, turning it off was not intuitive and had to ask the flight attendants how to turn it off during their very busy work of handing out packages with five miniature pretzels and drinks to the passengers, was happy to get a whole cab of juice to myself though."
Pros: "The crew was very nice and polite. Service was prompt and excellent"
Cons: "Excessively long layovers. I came home with 3 broken ribs and had to endure a 11 hour layover in Japan and another 6 hour layover in San Francisco."

Cons: "I know that I was in economy, but JEEZ! Everything was super cramped. I don't take up much room, but you couldn't do anything. I had a larger dude partway into my seat, my seat barely leaned back (and would slowly creep it's way to upright anyway), and of course I had no leg room at all, not that I was expecting that. Also, a six hour flight with just a snack offered is pretty absurd. I know cutting corners saves money, but I'm still paying money and it would be nice to have a slightly more pleasant experience. This was easily one of my worst flight experiences"

Cons: "The seats are very narrow and crowded and the seat backs do not go back far enough to provide any additional comfort. The 1.5 hr flight only had peanuts or pretzels for a snack"

Cons: "There were 2 flight attendants. Male and female. The female flight attendant was rude and appeared in a bad mood. And did not offer food to me. I hadnt eaten at all. I was in the very last row. And when the food cart approached she just wheeled right past without asking me. Then we i tried to get her attention she looked annoyed and ignored me. So i just ate ice cubes. It was unacceptable. I could hear her bickering at the other flight attendants in the back. It was so unprofessional."
Cons: "Upon approach we were suddenly deverted to Seattle. I had a few issues. Number one you could not hear the pilot so that made it worse. The lack of communication was horrible. I have been on flights when there has been clarity given a change in plans but this was bad. We sat at the gate for an hour and a half, again no real communication, the fligh attendant t hope was joking when he said there was a half a bottle left for the whole plane...much later we were served water. Announcements were made but no clarity. We were told to collect baggage at number 2. Get a voucher for a hotel. After deplann9ng about 25 of us stood in line at the customer service desk where there were two staff working slowly. Then after an hour they announced we were in the wrong place, couldn't that have been explained earlier? Once we made our way out of the terminal to the ticket count the line was all the way down the hall. still with little info we waited. We landed at the alternate airport at 945, at 130am I had my vouchers, the food not useful until the following day, the hotels were full, no one picked up the phone for the shuttle bus to the hotels. I finally elected to sleep at the airport on a bench. We had actually all been reassigned a flight on our same plane. So I am not sure why we had to wait in line all that time. Our bags were not removed from the plane an irritated baggage claim attendant told me. It was a mess. The flight the next morning was fine, short, without problems for me. united needs to work on its communications. It would have been helpful to have someone out side running the line giving out info. And at customer service they should have been paying attention to their line. Would have been helpful."
Pros: "Economy+ seats were very nice. Gates were close."
Cons: "Having content viewable on your app is fine, but finding out last minute that for some reason your device doesn't work with the system is annoying. There didn't seem to be any food or drink service, which was odd."
Pros: "I appreciated that we boarded quickly. Again the crew was great!"
Cons: "We were assigned seats that didn't recline, and we'd been travelling since 4:30am Pacific time. Flight was full so we were stuck. Our electrical outlet was smashed and unusable to charge my phone, which I needed for sending work emails and contacting clients. I was surprised that there was no free content on the tvs. I actually just wanted to see the map and it required I pay."
Pros: "The crews everyone was caring, respectful, and professional. I don't see anything to improve, they are that good, including the pilots!"

Cons: "My seat...not being able to pick an aisle seat. Also the passenger behind me kept doing something with her seat pocket and I could feel that everytime. Need more padding there. And halfway through the flight the screen quit working."

Cons: "My flight was delayed by three hours, but I understand that's not United's flight. Although, the airplane wasn't cleaned sufficiently. The tray next to me had crust on it from a previous passenger...it was gross."

This the second time this year I have experienced this problem We literally were the last two people on the flight and it was very stressful as were meeting other family members to drive up to Seattle."
Pros: "The Air NZ FLight from Aickland to San Francisco was operated by United Airlines. The seat had excellent leg room. The attendants were very pleasant and available throughout."
Cons: "When I first border the plane there was another passes egg in my allocated seat. The selection of movies available was only okay. their is only a minimal number of toilets for the number of passengers and one of them was out of paper when I went or use it. But they were always clean."
Cons: "I am 6' 5" and my wife is 6' and we are both thin. She had the middle seat and I had the window. There was not enough leg room and we were squeezed in shoulder to shoulder. This was for the flight from San Francisco to Portland."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3 hrs due to lack of maintenance of the plane and we had to all get off to wait for the next one. It was also overbooked."
