The airline did nothing to prepare for this situation. It took hours to get another flight organised, communication was non existent and refreshments took ages to come. Airline didn't help with finding a hotel for stranded passengers."

So, we escaped to the back for a while where we were "hushed" by a stewardess. I also disliked that some of the crew members drove the food/beverage cart violently through the isles and saw as one of the crew members rammed into another person's leg, to only say "oh sorry" and kept on going. This same crew member missed picking up the trash from an entire row and was throwing trash on the floor. She was more interested in caring for a baby on board (not sure if it was her daughter or family member) than the rest of the passengers. I also didn't like the seats were so close to each other, the person in front of me almost hit my face when he reclined his seat all the way back. There wasn't much room to breath let alone stretch."

I didn’t want to meal but I did want a bag and it’s a big difference. If you do it online it’s 39 Australian dollars, but if you do it at the airport it’s AU$160. That’s just outrageous and the staff was not helpful at all"

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Pros: "Handsome, kind and efficient crew. Good amount of space in and around my seat. I was not cramped, although I was in the economy section. The plane interior was indeed nice. Power outlets (both USB and 110V DC) in my seat (I assume then, every seat had that). I fly few times a year between the West Coast and Europe and my overall flight experience on this flight I think was the best one I've seen in years. Food, quality and selection was good. Nice wines in economy. Sufficient number of clean, sufficiently roomy and well stocked toilets. The fare rate I was able to get was outstanding and contributed to the overall satisfaction. Even my neighbor, in the seat next to me was very polite, quiet and pleasure to travel with (though here New Zealand Air perhaps had less of an influence)."

Pros: "I felt that the crew kind of forgot about us; there were lots of trolleys going by with drinks but each presumed that we had been served. I also felt that the crew in this section weren't friendly. I know it was an extremely busy flight but there wasn't much eye contact with the some of the crew, I felt that the stewards (men) were the least friendly."

The crew didn't seem that familiar with the types on offer, ie savignon blanc, chardonnay etc. They just handed you the wine and hoped it would be ok. I felt for such a long flight the crew could have announced that if anyone would like extra snax or drinks then feel free to call a member of the crew or even go to the kitchen and ask. Wifi was offered on the flight but it wasn't explained how to use it so I didn't have this facility as I couldn't connect! Once we asked it was explained but I still wasn't able to connect. Would be helpful if this could be explained / announced to the passengers."

Pros: "The flight crew was phenomenal, especially Daniella. Somehow we wound up with seats right next to the bathroom door, which would have been a pretty uncomfortable situation for a variety of reasons, but the flight wasn't full, and she helped us find a suitable place to sit. Also, my wife and I usually take our tea with honey vs. milk and sugar. Even though honey is usually one of the options for tea, she found a way to accommodate our request. The lunch meals were the best I can remember in a long time on an airline flight. They might have been the best I've ever had. The chicken curry was authentic, flavorful and spicy. Frankly my outbound flight had problems. My luggage got damaged. The transfer experience in Manchester left a LOT to be desired. I wasn't planning to use Virgin Atlantic again, but this flight crew (Daniella especially) redeemed Virgin Atlantic. They were attentive, pleasant, diligent."
Cons: "Only thing I didn't like about this flight was the boarding area. Once you get into that the area, you don't really have access to appetizing food (only vending machines) or even restrooms. That's one thing that could be improved."

Cons: "Boarding is always a bit of chaos when our seats are right in the back. People further up insist on boarding early and block the aisles in the process. Multiple levels of passport control and baggage checkout are chaotic, but that's for most all flights coming into USA? VIrgin/Delta handled it well enough. By the time we got through passport control in Boston ur bags were waiting and we had no problems at all."
Pros: "I liked everything, which is very uncharacteristic :)) At least compared to the big American carriers or the national European ones, VA is a gen - esthetically for sure. Clean, comfy, stylish! Will be my choice from now on."
Pros: "We were inmiddle seats -not our preference. We were told in Dublin that we had different seats to the ones we ended up in. Food was excellent, crew were very nice. Loved the "make a wish" event on this flight - a definite plus for Virgin."

Cons: "I found the seats on this Virgin Atlantic A340 flight from LHR (London Heathrow) to LAX (Los Angeles), an eleven hour flight, to be unacceptable. The seats were very crowded. I am six feet tall, and was very uncomfortable all during the flight. I could not sit with my knees together. I had to spread my knees to sit comfortably. Holding that position for eleven hours was very uncomfortable. Anyone taller than me would have even more trouble. Also, every seat has a very large box underneath, I presume for the audio/video system. This is a terrible location. There is very little room to stow anything. But much worse, I couldn't straighten my right leg. All-in-all, I found the seat situation totally unacceptable. I will likely never fly Virgin Atlantic again because of this."

I never went and I’ve tried calling to cancel the flight see if I can postpone for another date but every time they’ll transfer me to another personal.

Then being made to take 1 point something kilos into another lighter bag. However the staff were very good about it. not their fault that they find themselves having to talk through something that just doesn't ad up. However we enjoyed the flight, and the help we received transferring from a very late plane to one almost waiting in Fiji. :-)"

Hard bottom and narrow; when the girl in front of me put her seat back, her headrest was right in front of my teeth. Also, they use the old school dual-headphones that don't sit flat on your ears and there was no jack available for personal ear buds. Opportunities for improvement!"

The staff at the desk [a man and a woman] were extremely helpful and verified a change would be acceptable and they put in all of the work to make it happen - we returned an hour later and they had switched us to a flight from SYD - SFO - LAX on Qantas airlines. Things from there went off without a hitch ; while our departure time was still 5 hours later, we arrived to the US earlier than we would have on the SYD-NAN-LAX flight."
