Cons: "Qantas is the source of unlimited frustration for us. We could not check in online, and it wasn't even possible to choose a seat before you got to the airport unless you wanted to pay a premium for it. To make matters worse, there is no transparency in the process; we had no idea what seats they were assigning us, or even whether the three of us would be able to sit together. And when we showed up at the airport, the last leg of my flight had been deleted from my itinerary (but not that of my family members). And guess what? They couldn't do anything about it until I was ready to get on that last flight! The crew were great, but all the behind-the-scenes aspects of Qantas were absolutely horrible. Two days later I'm still reeling from the experience. What a terrible way to treat customers."

I have a business meeting tomorrow morning and presently they can't even reconcile their own Baggage Receipt number! I expect more when travelling (and paying) for business class."

Pros: "They provided much more than a seat. One of us was overcome with air sickness. The flight attendants provided all the help and comfort necessary to recover from sickness. They were indeed very helpful. We are very thankful and grateful for all the care they gave us during the flight."

Cons: "The chairs had very uncomfortable seats, the arms did not go up all the way, so limited laying down. The food was overall poor and not very rapid service. Also for such an empty flight they ran out of menu options quickly. I believe our flight was not on a qantas plane but American airlines, which I suspect had something to do with the difference from previous qantas flights which were much nicer."

Pros: "There was an excellent selection of movies to choose from. Breakfast was actually pretty tasty, and snacks and water were offered quite frequently. The seat was reasonably comfortable, and reclines back a decent way. For how huge the plane was, the boarding process was super fast and efficient!"
Cons: "Seats were still rather cramped for my poor husband, who is 6'3. It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."

Cons: "Experienced a departure delay due to a mechanical problem. Missed the original connection to Charlotte in Dallas. AA was very efficient in scheduling an alternate flight, including luggage transfers. 4 hour late arrival which was OK given we started in Sydney."
Pros: "*Our flight from LA to Melbourne on January 7th was cancelled. Fortunately, Qantas crew members were able to place us on an American Airlines flight to JFK the very same day."

Cons: "Hostess did not allow 2 ounce drink every other time traveled by qantas 10 times in last 5 yrs had no issue This time qantas made us take our baggage to terminal 2 west jet check in counter which head office should know is a far distance should have arranged to do so like other times in the past"
Pros: "I was worried about the long flight; but it went very well. The crew was so friendly and I felt very taken care of. The food services were well-timed. Awesome selection of movies and shows. We were provided a blanket, pillow, eye mask etc."

Cons: "I've flown a lot over the years and been on some long flights but this was beyond bad as far as comfort. When the people in front of us layed their seats down we could not even move and when meals were served the flight attendants had to ask the passengers in front of us to please put their seats up so that they could serve us food. Then when the service was over the people layed their seats right down...they were literally in our laps."
Pros: "As I stated previously, I am blind and found the special assistance Qantas offers invaluable. Every crew member I interacted with was polite, thoughtful, warm, attentive, and extremely helpful."

The follow flight to Toronto was about equally late, but construction and heavy traffic made it unavoidable. I saved a lot of money with the Hopper app. Flying used to be nicer, but this is what cost cutting (anywhere) results in - less service and less comfort. We get what we demand - whether we really want it or not."
