However we were flying West and thus into daylight. Sadly the window seated passengers were not asked to close their window blinds to block out the sunlight and many were left open. This made the cabin very bright and a difficult environment in which to sleep. Too much advertising before the on board videos, but otherwise content was good."

Both Lufthansa and my travel agency pointed the finger at the other and I had to purchase another $1000 ticket to get home. There was no cancellation emails or any notification. I didn’t know my tixkets were cancelled until I was trying to check in. Worst experience ever!!"

Cons: "Walk between connecting flights in Munich was very long (25 minutes) and when we got to the gate for the flight to EWR, there was a very long, and very slow-moving line with only one attendant checking boarding passes for 6 gates. We arrived at the gate and were among the last passengers to board. A last minute additional attendant that was brought on, helped to make the line move a bit faster, but this under-staffed checkpoint added unnecessary stress to our long travel day."

Pros: "The plane was huge with lots of empty seats. This is better than my flight out, which was oversold (I was the person who didn't have a seat, until just before departure when someone else didn't show up). The seats appeared to be new."

No information was available about what gate the delayed flight would be departing from, which made it difficult to relax while waiting due to fears of missing the flight whenever it finally took off. The electronic flight list said to check the monitor at 6:38pm to find out what gate would be used (for a 5:30pm flight). I checked the monitor at 6:14 and it said the flight was boarding. This seems like a recipe for making people miss the flight. At the very least it made things stressful. No free food/beverages were provided (some is available at a cost). A family with a very tired baby was forced to wait in a huge long line rather than being pre-boarded. That just seems discourteous to me."

British Airways offered nothing in return for a missed connection which cost me almost 1000$ in total and 2 missed days of work. Their customer service is horrendous and basically, they simply didn't care."

Cons: "We were late to our outbound flight due to our other flight being delayed from weather. We went to the ticket desk area, which was closed and were directed to another help desk. Once at the front the attendent refused to help us and sent us to another desk at the other end of the terminal. After waiting in another long line, the attendent told us we had missed all flights to Edinburgh. There lack of staff and customer service caused us to miss all flights and trains into Edinburgh. On top of that, we were notified our flight back to London would be cancelled because we missed our outbound flight and that she could not provide us with any credits or refunds that we would need to call customer service. We lost the money we spent on our Edinburgh hotel and had no way to get to our vacation."

We arrived on the plane and there was plenty of space to put our luggage. It was not a friendly experience especially paying the premium to fly business. They were very direct and non forgiving. Cons: "The boarding crew from Edinburgh did not allow me to bring my carry on despite it being very light and within size restriction. They said this was because the plane was already full with others' luggage and could not handle my bag for safety. Had to shove my things in a Tesco carrier bag and in my daughters small backpack on wheels. The backpack broke later as it was not made to carry more than a few books. And to top it off, the suitcase I was made to check never made it on my connecting flight to Chicago. I am still waiting for it to be delivered 36 hours later. This suitcase is virtually empty. Well, it's actually carrying a pair of sunglasses and my phone charger. totally inconvenienced and the crew saved the plane from being dangerously overloaded by an empty suitcase. Absolute nonsense."
Cons: "The queuing process was not efficient, the packing of people on a shuttle bus was dangerous with the number of people squashed onto the bus and then we had to wait on the bus for quite a while for the determination to be made that the flight was ready. Once on the flight, the hanging flap that separates the first class from economy, was loosely hanging and rattled fiercely and on lift-off swung back toward our faces. We had to pay 4 pounds for a coke and weird coffee. Then we had to circle London while we waited to land because of the IT mess in London."

Cons: "I don't like the LHR airport as the layout is confusing and too big. The shuttle between terminals are not easy to take."

Very inefficient process. They actually close the gate 30 min before the flight time, for really. I think it's unnecessarily harsh. Crew were very friendly."

Cons: "The seats were extremely uncomfortable due to being so narrow and also very little leg room. I was in the second seat in a 4-seat row and had difficulty getting through the space to seat myself. I'm a person of average size. On a six hour flight this becomes very irritating."

Seemed to me that too much space on plane dedicated to the premium 'cabins' for the uber rich, but they were interesting to look at."

Cons: "Connecting flight was cancelled so we automatically got out on the next flight. Our stop over went from 2h to over 7h. Staff at checkin were very unhelpful. They told us to go to the website to request a refund and wouldn't offer us any flight upgrades. We got on the flight and people were told not to sit in the unoccupied enconomy plus seats unless they paid for them. Pretty poor that considering there were at least 2 rows of seats available they are so tight they can't even be bothered to compensate us in a way that won't effect their bottom line. We completed the return request only to be told that refunds are not offered on schedule changes. Again pretty shoddy customer service and shows that all they are about is your money. The breakfast we had was disgusting. The melted cheese looked like someone had vomited onto my tray. On waiting for our connecting flight there was an old lady who was dumped at a gate on a wheel chair. They person then left without telling them what was happening. We could see she was anxious about not knowing what was happening. My wife went to the United help desk to ask for information for the lady's flight and was told she should just check the information board and dismissed. Not sure how an old lady who can't walk is meant to do this (this was explained to them). If United had bothered to make some kind of effort to be at least helpful in any stage with refunding / upgrading us and being helpful to an old lady maybe this review would be different. Ultimately all they care about is your money and will deliver a shockingly bad customer service wherever they can get away with it. I WONT be flying United again. I will pay more for another airline."
